Chapter 183 Seeking Assistance
Chapter 183 Seeking Assistance
Theodore would arrive in Pinecrest City in three days, and he'd definitely settle the score with James.
For a moment, everyone fell silent.
All the major families pulled their people back, not daring to stir up trouble.
They were all quietly watching, waiting for the big showdown.
When these two clashed, it would be one hell of a spectacle.
In an instant, the entire surface of Pinecrest City appeared calm, but underneath, dark currents were churning.
After the Tovar family fell, the surviving members scattered and fled.
Kyle, along with a few trusted aides and a dozen or so remaining family members, escaped to Cedric's doorstep.
They didn't dare barge in directly, so they knelt outside, begging for an audience with Cedric.
The guards at the gate went in to report several times before Cedric finally agreed to see them.
Kyle and his group were led to the parlor.
The moment he saw Cedric, Kyle dropped to his knees.
Tears streamed down his face.
"Prince Cedric, you have to give us justice!
That lunatic James killed my father and destroyed the Tovar family!
Please send your forces to help us get revenge!"
The family members behind him also knelt, sobbing pitifully.
Cedric sat in the seat of honor, watching their pitiful display with growing impatience.
The Tovar family was already finished. Coming to him now would only bring trouble—what use could they possibly be?
But he couldn't just ignore them completely.
After all, the Tovar family had been his people. If he abandoned them now, it would discourage other families from allying with him in the future.
"Get up."
Cedric spoke, his tone flat.
"I've already heard about Terry.
James has overstepped his bounds and killed indiscriminately. I certainly won't let him get away with it."
Kyle, hearing this, immediately kowtowed.
"Thank you, Prince Cedric!
Rest assured, as long as we can get revenge, everyone left in the Tovar family will follow your orders!"
Cedric acknowledged with a sound.
"Find somewhere to settle down first.
No need to rush the revenge.
In three more days, Theodore will arrive in Pinecrest City.
He and Terry were old friends for many years. When he finds out about this, he definitely won't let it go.
When that time comes, someone will naturally deal with James."
Kyle froze for a moment.
Theodore?
Of course he knew who that was.
Terry used to mention him often, saying they were close friends.
If Theodore was willing to act, James would be dead for sure.
Hope suddenly ignited in Kyle's heart.
"Theodore will really help us?"
"Of course."
Cedric nodded.
"I've already sent word to Theodore.
When he heard about Terry's death, he agreed to come to Pinecrest City early.
James's days are numbered."
Kyle was so excited he nearly kowtowed again.
"Thank you!"
"Alright, everyone go now."
Cedric waved his hand, showing his impatience.
"Someone will take you to where you'll be staying.
Lie low during this time. Don't go out and cause trouble."
"Yes."
Kyle and his group thanked him profusely as they followed the guards out.
Only Cedric remained in the parlor.
He watched Kyle's retreating figure and let out a cold laugh.
A bunch of useless trash—this was about all they were good for.
Perfect to use them as an excuse to pit Theodore against James.
The more people who died, the happier he'd be.
Meanwhile, James sat on the sofa in the living room, his fingers drumming on the table.
Iron Wolf stood beside him, having just finished a phone call.
"Mr. Anderson, we've confirmed it. The remaining Tovar family members are all hiding at the Tovar Villa.
After Kyle returned from Cedric's place, he gathered all the surviving family members and they're holed up in the mansion.
There are a few more hiding in the shadows. All together, about sixty people."
James glanced up.
"Has the list been verified?"
"Verified."
Kevin walked in from outside, holding a sheet of paper.
"Over the years, those who've done dirty work for the Tovar family—fifty-two people total. They're all at the Tovar Villa."
James took the list, scanned it briefly, folded it, and tucked it into his pocket.
"Let's go. Time to pay them a visit."
Iron Wolf hesitated.
"Mr. Anderson, you want to go now?
Cedric's definitely watching the Tovar Villa. As soon as we show up, his people will be there in no time.
Should we call some of our people over first?"
"No need."
James stood up, straightening his clothes.
"They won't really make a move.
If there's going to be a fight, it'll have to wait until Theodore arrives.
Making a move now wouldn't benefit Cedric."
Kevin frowned, wanting to persuade him further.
But seeing James's expression, it was clear he'd already made up his mind.
He and Iron Wolf exchanged glances. Neither said anything more.
Once James decided something, no one could ever change his mind.
The three of them gathered their things and headed out.
They took the same unremarkable black sedan, driving toward the Tovar Villa.
The car stopped two blocks away from the Tovar Villa.
James pushed open the door and walked toward the Tovar Villa on foot.
Kevin and Iron Wolf flanked him on either side.
It was mid-morning, and there were quite a few pedestrians on the street.
Seeing three men walking toward the Tovar Villa, passersby quietly took notice.
The Tovar Villa had been at the center of a storm these past two days—everyone was avoiding it.
These three were actually walking straight toward it.
Some recognized James and quickly lowered their heads, pretending not to see.
Afraid of getting caught up in trouble.
James paid no attention to the stares around him, walking straight ahead.
Soon, the main gate of the Tovar Villa came into view.
Four guards stood at the entrance, each holding a knife, watching their surroundings warily.
Seeing James and his two companions approaching, the guards instantly tensed.
One of them mustered his courage and shouted.
"Stop! What do you want?"
James ignored him and kept walking.
"One more step and we won't be nice about it!"
The guard raised his knife, his hand trembling slightly.
James walked right up to him and stopped.
He simply raised his hand.
Before the guard could react, he felt a sharp pain in his wrist.
The knife clattered to the ground.
He clutched his broken wrist and crouched on the ground, screaming in agony.
The other three guards were frozen with fear, standing in place, not daring to move.
Iron Wolf stepped forward and kicked each of them once, sending them sprawling.
The three rolled on the ground, unable to even get up.
James lifted his foot and pushed open the main gate of the Tovar Villa.
Inside the courtyard, chaos reigned.
Dozens of people stood in small clusters, speaking in hushed voices.
Every face wore an expression of panic.
When the gate suddenly swung open, everyone turned to look.
Seeing James walk in, the courtyard fell instantly silent.
You could hear a pin drop.
Everyone's eyes widened, faces filled with terror.
They hadn't expected James to come back again.
Kyle stood at the entrance to the main hall, talking with a few trusted confidants.
Hearing the commotion, he turned his head. When he saw James, his face went pale instantly.
He instinctively took half a step back, then forced himself to stop.
"James! You dare come here again!"
Kyle's voice shook, but he still forced himself to shout.
"You already killed my father—what more do you want!
Don't push us to the brink!"
