I got busy viewing the footage and the guest room where that slut slept was the only room in the house where I didn't install the camera.
I saw them cuddling on the couch and they were about to make out when I turned it off because I couldn't feed my eyes such content.
I had all the footage from the cameras downloaded to my device anyway so I finished up my breakfast and decided to give my lawyer a call right away because I wanted to be free from all this.
“Yes Madam Ava,long time,” he responded over the phone.
“Yeah that's right…how busy is your day today?” I asked.
“Well,today being a weekend,I'm off from office work just home with my family,” he replied.
“Ohh sounds great!” I exclaimed
“How may I be of help ma'am? I know you didn't just call me to ask how I'm spending my day today,” he asked.
“Uhm,since you're home,I was wondering if you can come over and meet me because it is very urgent and this is the right time to have this meeting,” I replied.
“Oh it is okay with me ma'am, just text me the address where you would like us to meet and I will be there in less than an hour,” he assured me.
“Okay then,I have texted you the address and I'm already here waiting for you please,” I replied.
“Oh really! Then let me not waste any more time on the phone because all along I thought you were still home…bye let me get ready,” he hung up
I stayed there with my mind buried in thoughts of why Herman thinks I'm so gullible and I don't know which part of my character gives him the impression that I buy all the lies he puts on the plate for me!
I later called mom to check on them and I was hearing Halsey in the background playing loud with Alma and that was enough evidence that they were doing well.
I stayed there pressing the phone in order to pass time and in the next forty minutes, I saw my lawyer's car pulling over in the driveway and I immediately gave him a call before he started turning his head looking for me all over the place.
I directed him where I was sitting then he joined me on my table in a few.
“Oh hey Ava,” he extended his hand for a hand shake before taking up the seat opposite to mine.
“Hey,thanks for coming and I'm sorry for interrupting your family time,” I shook his hand
He pulled back the chair and sat down,
“No,come on…you're one of my clients I respect so much, so me coming over here means a lot to me,” he squeezed his lips in a faint smile.
“Okay good to know then,can you please at least order something to eat or a drink before we proceed,” I told him.
“Ma'am, I'm coming from home so that means I got done with breakfast already,” he replied.
“Yes I understand but I insist please,”
“In that case,let me at least have a cup of cappuccino,” he suggested.
I called the waiter and placed his order.
“So,I was sitting here having my breakfast when an idea crossed my mind and I was like maybe it's important to have this meeting right away,” I told him.
“Okay,tell me what it is,” He replied.
The waiter brought his cappuccino and placed it in front of him then we thanked him for his service before walking away.
“First watch this please,” I handed him my phone.
“Ava what is this? All i see is your husband talking with this girl I don't know,”
“Please first pay attention,”
He focused on the video then after a few minutes, he almost got choked on his cappuccino.
“What the helly?! Please tell me this isn't your husband!”
“Unfortunately,he is,” I replied.
“Wait,where did you get this? Who shared it with you?” He asked
“Shared?! I wish…I recorded this from the cameras I installed in my house,” I leaned back in my seat.
“What!! Ava,I need to know everything because I believe a lot has been happening in your marriage.” He sternly looked at me.
“Well,I'm going to feed you all the information you need to know because basically that is the reason why I called you here in the first place,” I replied.
“Woah! This man is so shameless yet I respected him so much,”
“You just said that you installed the cameras in your house?” he asked and I just nodded.
“Damn! So that means,he's cheating on you from your house! That's crazy!Who does that? I mean,he had an option of taking her to any air bnb,” he placed his hand over his forehead out of frustration.
I started narrating him the whole story from when I stalked him the other day to how that girl ended up in my house that night.
“Oh my God Ava! I'm sorry to hear this from you…that man didn't deserve your second chance for real,” he cursed beneath his breath.
“Yeah,you're right but this time round, he won't be able to get a third one because I'm no longer blinded by his fake love,” I replied with tears in my eyes.
I tried not to make eye contact with my lawyer as I was busy fighting with my tears not to touch my cheeks because I wouldn't want him to think I'm so vulnerable when I cry in front of him.
“So let me take a guess,you want to file for a divorce and present this as evidence that he hasn't been faithful in your marriage right?” He asked.
“Yes,you got that right,”
“Fine with me,I will do just that and he doesn't have to come to the office because I wouldn't want him to get suspicious or something,” he suggested.
“Ohh then how do you plan to do it?” I asked.
“Uhm,all you have to do is keep me posted when you two are home any day next week then I will come with the divorce papers and present them to him with this video…haha,I can't wait to see his face,” he smirked.
“Okay then,we shall be in touch and thank you once again for creating time for me out of your resting day,” I thanked him.
“It's okay Ava,please allow me to take my leave now so that I can go back and find my kids,” he first finished his cup of cappuccino before getting up from his seat.
He left the restaurant and left me there sitting with my eyes closed while imagining how life is finally going to be when I'm free from that liar I called my husband.
