Chapter 95: Cordelia Blocked Him

Chapter 95 Cordelia Blocked Him

Alaric's chiseled, icy expression had already taken on a look of displeasure.

Even if she wanted to stay here and disregard the embarrassment, she couldn't.

She gently opened the car door, bent over to get in, and didn't forget to glance at Alaric with concern as she left.

Cordelia noticed her gaze, raised an eyebrow, and looked at Alaric.

"Why don't you and Ms. Martin leave first? No need to make her worry. I'll wait here for Robert to arrive."

Janet paused at Cordelia's words and quickly replied, "No, Alaric should stay here with you."

"This area doesn't see much traffic. If you encounter any danger, the Stone family won't let Alaric off the hook."

Cordelia smiled but didn't say anything.

Vivian, watching Cordelia's calm demeanor, felt irritated and immediately instructed the driver to start the car.

The driver, already a bit annoyed by the delay, started the car and drove away.

When the Stone family's driver received Cordelia's call, he thought she and Alaric had a falling out and that she had been left by the roadside, so he rushed over.

It wasn't the first time Alaric had left Cordelia by the roadside.

When the Stone family's driver arrived, he saw Cordelia and Alaric standing by the road, the atmosphere between them surprisingly harmonious, so he pulled up in front of Cordelia.

"Cordelia."

"Mr. Hughes."

He greeted them and hurriedly got out to open the car door.

Judging by the scene, it looked like there had been an accident.

He scanned Cordelia thoroughly, relieved to see she was unharmed.

Cordelia bent over to get in the car and spoke softly as Alaric walked over.

"Robert's here, no need to trouble Mr. Hughes to drive me."

Alaric glanced in the distance and saw Robert driving towards them.

His gaze darkened, feeling annoyed for the first time at Robert's efficiency.

Cordelia got in the car and closed the door herself.

Alaric stood there, looking at her in the back seat, "Text me when you get home."

Cordelia didn't respond and turned to the driver, "Let's go."

The driver nodded and quickly returned to the driver's seat, starting the car and driving away.

As the Stone family's car left, Robert pulled up in front of Alaric.

"Mr. Hughes, are you alright?"

Alaric saw Robert rush out of the car, his gaze cold.

"There's a problem."

Robert raised an eyebrow, a hint of confusion in his eyes. He couldn't understand why Alaric seemed displeased with him.

After all, he hadn't disturbed his time with Cordelia all day.

Alaric bent over to get in the back seat, rubbing his temples.

"Handle it."

Robert nodded and went to inspect the car damage, making a call to have a tow truck come.

This car probably wouldn't be seen in Alaric's garage again; it would be repaired and repurposed for client transportation.

After arranging everything, Robert got into the driver's seat.

He glanced at Alaric in the back seat, "Mr. Hughes, are we heading to Crown Hill Estates or Garden Vista Estates?"

Garden Vista Estates, which Cordelia had sold off, was back in Alaric's possession. All the paperwork had been completed.

Alaric listened to Robert's question and calmly replied, "Garden Vista Estates."

Robert said nothing more and drove towards Garden Vista Estates.

When Alaric got back to Garden Vista Estates, he went upstairs. Everything was still just as Cordelia had left it.

Alaric had Robert move his belongings back, making it seem like he and Cordelia had never divorced, just waiting for her to return.

Alaric sighed deeply, feeling suffocated. He glanced at his phone; Cordelia hadn't sent any message. He opened their chat and stared at it for several seconds before sending a message.

"Did you get home?"

Cordelia didn't reply.

Alaric looked at the unanswered message, his gaze darkening. He wanted to retract it, but the time limit had passed, making it impossible. Frustrated, he tossed his phone aside and went to the bathroom to wash up.

After washing up, he came out, drying his hair. His phone buzzed. He grabbed it eagerly, but seeing it was Janet calling, his gaze darkened, and he hung up without answering.

Cordelia returned to The Stone Manor, took a shower, and went to bed. She slept soundly and woke up to see Alaric's message from last night, remembering what he had said when she got in the car.

The next morning, she looked at the message, her gaze indifferent, thinking Alaric might still have feelings for his ex.

When they first married, Alaric often didn't return to Garden Vista Estates. At that time, Cordelia had just started at Sunrise Valley Hospital and was sent for a week-long charity event. During that week, Alaric didn't call or message her once.

Every night, she checked his social media updates, even though they were boring financial posts she didn't understand, she still liked them on time.

One day, she found out he had blocked her, so she couldn't even see those boring financial updates.

Thinking of these past events, Cordelia felt a pang in her heart. She bit her lip, opened Alaric's profile, and set her feed so he couldn't see it.

Back at Garden Vista Estates, Alaric was ready to head to the Hughes Group.

Robert pulled up to the entrance, seeing Alaric engrossed in his phone, whatever he was looking at clearly holding his attention. He didn't even lift his head as he got in the car.

In Robert's memory, Alaric rarely focused on his phone like this. Alaric was scrolling through Cordelia's feed. Her feed had no restrictions, and he saw posts from two years ago.

Two years ago, Cordelia loved posting daily updates. Over the past year, her posts had dwindled. This month, she only posted once about a hospital charity event.

He scrolled through her old posts, wanting to understand her state during the two years he ignored her. As he loaded a photo, his internet lagged. When it returned to normal, Cordelia's feed was no longer visible to him.

Alaric swiped down several times, but nothing loaded. He thought it was a network issue, but after restarting, it was still blank.

He frowned and looked at Robert driving, "Hey, do you have Cordelia on Facebook?"

Robert nodded, "Yeah, I do."

Alaric ordered. "Hand over your phone."

Robert unlocked his phone and handed it to Alaric.

Alaric opened the social media app, found Cordelia's profile, and clicked on it. Her feed appeared in full.

His face darkened, realizing Cordelia had blocked him.
