Chapter 324 Gabriel Says, Good Night
Chapter 324 Gabriel Says, Good Night
As she listened to Alaric's words, Cordelia felt a sense of peace settle in her heart.
The alarm outside had stopped, and Cordelia gradually calmed down.
Once she had settled down, she suddenly remembered that both Alaric and Evelyn were on this yacht, probably here to attend some business gathering.
Alaric had been here with her the whole time and hadn't gone up yet, so she said softly.
"You probably have other things to do. Why don't you go up first? I'll be fine here by myself."
Alaric had taken another yacht out today solely to be close to her. The moment Cordelia fell into the water, his heart practically stopped.
It had been a long time since he'd felt this kind of fear about losing someone or something.
Right now, Cordelia wasn't in great shape mentally, so how could he bear to leave?
The Hughes Group's strength was clear to everyone. At the Luminar and Shadowpine economic exchange meeting, the Hughes Group would definitely be the company with the most deals signed.
So even if he didn't show up on the yacht today, it wouldn't make much difference.
But at this moment, Alaric was actually glad he had come today.
Otherwise, when Cordelia fell into the water, no one might have even noticed.
"I don't need to go up. Your sister can handle it."
Cordelia responded softly, "Okay."
After speaking, she gradually closed her eyes as drowsiness hit her again.
Half an hour later, the yacht docked, and Gabriel saw the guest's off the yacht.
Because Evelyn was waiting for Cordelia, she didn't leave with the guests. Instead, she planned to wait until everyone had left, then leave with Cordelia.
After seeing off the guests, Gabriel returned to where Cordelia was and chatted with Evelyn, smiling.
The departing guests kept turning back to look at them, their eyes full of curiosity and speculation.
Evelyn and Gabriel looked exceptionally well-matched together.
Evelyn was quiet and composed, yet burning with ambition, while Gabriel seemed the ideal gentleman but was cold-blooded and vicious beneath the surface.
If those two became a couple...
A strange feeling of dread washed over everyone present.
When Gabriel's assistant came to knock on the door, Cordelia had just fallen asleep moments ago.
"Mr. Hughes, Ms. Stone, we've arrived at the dock."
The assistant's low voice sounded from outside.
Alaric responded quietly, "Okay, I know."
As he answered, he got up to carry Cordelia, but the woman in his arms had already woken up and opened her eyes.
"Are we here?"
She asked softly, her voice a bit hoarse.
Alaric nodded and reached out to hold her. "I'll carry you down."
Cordelia immediately shook her head in refusal. She didn't want to be carried by Alaric in front of those business people.
"No need, I can walk by myself." As she spoke, she got up from the bed, put on her shoes, and opened the door.
Gabriel's assistant was waiting to the side. Seeing Cordelia come out, he was polite.
"Ms. Cordelia Stone, Ms. Evelyn Stone is waiting for you and Mr. Hughes upstairs."
Cordelia nodded and thanked him softly, "Thank you."
Gabriel's assistant was respectful and led them out of the cabin.
Evelyn was chatting with Gabriel about some business topics.
Gabriel was leaning slightly against the yacht's railing, looking relaxed and at ease.
Evelyn stood up straight, her attitude serious and rigorous. Though they were clearly contrasting, when they looked exceptionally well-matched.
When Gabriel saw Cordelia and Alaric come up together, he smiled and took the initiative to greet them.
"Ms. Stone, are you okay?"
Cordelia shook her head slightly. "Thank you for your concern, I'm fine."
Seeing that Cordelia looked a bit better than before, Evelyn felt relieved and introduced them quietly.
"Cordelia, this is Mr. Harris, the CEO of the Sunoro Group."
"Mr. Harris, this is my sister, Cordelia." She said turning to Harris.
"Thanks to Mr. Harris's help tonight, everything was handled and resolved so quickly."
"Cordelia, thank Mr. Harris properly."
Hearing this, Gabriel looked sideways at Evelyn, chuckled, and said.
"I didn't really help much."
Evelyn hadn't wanted his help to begin with, and what she was saying now was just fake politeness.
Gabriel clearly smiled, but there was also something about him that made him hard to approach.
After hearing Evelyn's words, Cordelia thanked him repeatedly.
Gabriel just waved his hand, indicating she didn't need to worry about it.
Evelyn reached out and pulled Cordelia to her side, then smiled and said goodbye to Gabriel.
Gabriel nodded and didn't try to keep them. His gaze locked onto Evelyn's departing figure, a glint of light sliding across his lenses.
Alaric chatted with Gabriel for a few moments before getting off the yacht.
Robert stood on the shore, holding Cordelia's handbag, which had been retrieved from Harry's yacht earlier.
Seeing Cordelia and Evelyn get off the yacht, he quickly walked over and handed the handbag to Cordelia.
Cordelia took her handbag and immediately asked.
"What about them?"
Robert looked cautiously at Evelyn.
Evelyn's eyes were indifferent, with no hint of warning in them, so Robert said quietly.
"Fiona has been sent to the station for investigation, and the others were sent to the hospital."
"Ms. Lewis drank quite a bit, so she might need her stomach pumped."
Cordelia's expression became somewhat serious.
Robert continued in a low voice, "There are also a few police officers waiting over there. They might need you to cooperate and give a statement."
Cordelia nodded gently and said, "Okay, I'll go over now."
Robert quickly led Cordelia over.
Evelyn stayed by her side, and as she listened to Cordelia describe what happened, her expression remained incredibly cold the whole time.
Alaric and Gabriel couldn't leave either, and both cooperated in giving statements.
After the police finished taking statements, they said, "If there are any more questions tomorrow, we may need to ask Ms. Stone to come to the station to assist with the investigation."
"During this time, please try to keep your phone on, Ms. Stone."
Cordelia nodded in agreement. "Okay."
Evelyn stood to the side and was about to tell the police to contact her directly when Alaric, standing nearby, spoke first.
"She's a doctor. Sometimes during surgery, she doesn't have her phone on her. If you can't reach her, you can contact me instead."
After Alaric spoke, Robert immediately handed his business card to the police.
The police took it and agreed.
After seeing off the police, Taylor drove the car over.
Before Taylor could get out to open the door for Evelyn and Cordelia, Gabriel smoothly opened the back door.
He made a gentlemanly "please" gesture.
Evelyn's expression froze slightly as she gestured for Cordelia to get in.
As Cordelia bent down to get in the car, she said softly, "Thank you."
Gabriel smiled without responding, his gaze fixed on Evelyn the whole time.
Evelyn pressed her red lips together lightly and bent down to get in the car. After taking her seat, she looked through the car window at the man standing by her car and said flatly.
"Thank you, Mr. Harris. We'll be going now. Goodbye."
Gabriel smiled in response. "Drive safely. Good night."
Evelyn met his gaze, feeling somewhat uncomfortable, then told Taylor to drive.
After they had driven for a while, Taylor noticed that Alaric's car had been following behind them, so he looked in the rearview mirror and said to Evelyn.
"Mr. Hughes's car has been behind us the whole time."
Evelyn said.
"Don't worry about him."
Alaric was probably worried about Cordelia, which was why he was following them all the way.
