Chapter 104 Heard Cordelia is Back?
Cordelia was already beautiful, and with a bit of makeup on, she looked absolutely flawless.
Evelyn smiled, "Then I'll go hold this morning's meeting first. Which mall will you be at? I'll come find you."
Cordelia nodded.
"If you're too busy, you don't need to go out of your way to keep me company."
Evelyn gave her a playfully reproachful look.
"Who says I'm going out of my way to keep you company?"
"I just want to buy some toys for Amber and take her to the playground."
Hearing Evelyn's words, Amber immediately clapped her hands happily.
Ever since turning one, Amber had loved going out and about.
Under the careful care of everyone in the Stone family, she had developed a cheerful personality.
Cordelia walked out of the bedroom, and Evelyn carried Amber downstairs.
Dominic and Donald had already finished their morning workout in the yard and came inside just in time for breakfast together.
At the dining table, Dominic and Donald were chatting.
Allegra sat to the side feeding Amber, and the dining room was filled with warmth and harmony.
After breakfast, Evelyn left The Stone Manor.
Before leaving, she even coaxed a kiss from Amber.
As she walked out of the yard heading to the garage to get her car, Bruce's car pulled up and stopped at the entrance of The Stone Manor.
The moment Evelyn saw Bruce, she knew he was there to gather information for Alaric.
She gave him a heavy look, walked out the gate, and headed straight for Bruce's car.
Bruce had just opened the car door and gotten out when he saw Evelyn had already walked around the front of the car and gotten into the passenger seat.
He immediately got back in the car.
"Busy at the company today?"
Evelyn nodded, "Yes. If you want to give me a ride, hurry up."
Bruce raised an eyebrow and glanced at the gate of The Stone Manor.
"I heard Mr. Stone and Cordelia are back. We've been together for so many years, but I've never formally visited Mr. Stone. I was thinking of taking this opportunity to pay him a visit."
Evelyn was applying lipstick with a compact mirror. Hearing Bruce's words, she glanced at him.
"So you mean you're not here to give me a ride?"
Seeing a hint of displeasure in Evelyn's expression, Bruce immediately sat down in the driver's seat and fastened his seatbelt.
"That's not it."
"Of course I need to take you first. You're the most important."
Evelyn let out a light snort. She didn't make things difficult for him further, just put away her compact mirror, sat in her seat, gave him a brief glance, and looked away.
Seeing Evelyn like this, Bruce's expression became somewhat awkward. He started the car and headed to the Stone Group.
The Stone Group had been doing very well in the entertainment industry these past few years.
They had many well-known signed artists under their name.
Even many internet celebrities who were famous online had partnerships with the Stone Group.
After Bruce dropped Evelyn off at the Stone Group, he stopped the car.
As Evelyn opened the car door, she glanced at Bruce and said seriously.
"Bruce, I remember very clearly where Janet's current team came from."
"Cordelia just got back to the country. Tell those sleazy friends of yours not to bother Cordelia."
"Otherwise, you...!"
Before Evelyn could finish, Bruce immediately promised.
"Don't worry, I absolutely won't go along with them!"
Evelyn snorted coldly and walked into the Stone Group.
Bruce sat in the driver's seat, watching Evelyn's back for a while before starting the car again and leaving.
He had been tricked by Julian into that whole thing with Janet's team.
At the time, Julian had only said he wanted to support a small internet celebrity, so he recommended that operations manager to Julian.
He never expected that the person Julian wanted to support was actually Janet.
After Evelyn found out about this, they had a period of conflict.
Evelyn even blocked him for over half a year and wouldn't contact him.
Now that Cordelia had just returned to the country, and Evelyn was so protective, even if Bruce wanted to help Alaric gather some information, he didn't dare.
After all, the loss would outweigh the gain, and there was no benefit to him either.
After thinking it over, Bruce decided to just go back to the Howard Group.
As for Alaric's problem, he'd let Alaric handle it himself.
As Alaric's good friend, Bruce had seen with his own eyes how Alaric had spent these past three years.

Bruce sighed. Just as he was about to call Alaric, Julian's call came in first.
He looked at Julian's incoming call and instinctively glanced at the passenger seat, as if Evelyn were still sitting there watching him.
He took a breath and answered.
"If you have something to say, say it."
Hearing Bruce's unfriendly tone, Julian raised an eyebrow, "I heard Cordelia's back?"
Bruce was in a bad mood and said bluntly, "None of your damn business."
He hung up immediately after saying that, and lost the mood to call Alaric.
On Julian's end, looking at the disconnected call, he was stunned for a moment, then laughed in frustration.
Ever since he tricked Bruce into finding a team for Janet, Evelyn had severely taught Bruce a lesson.
Bruce had been holding a grudge about this for the past two years, so the two of them hadn't been getting together as often as before.
Since Cordelia left, Alaric had been constantly busy with work.
Sometimes Julian felt like he was being isolated by these friends.

After Dominic packed up the baby bottles and formula, he carried the bag out.
Cordelia was walking ahead holding Amber. Seeing Dominic carrying the bag behind her, she said.
"Dominic, if you have anything you need to handle in Shadowpine, feel free to go. Amber and I can go shopping on our own, and besides..."
Evelyn was probably worried they might run into some danger, so she had assigned quite a few bodyguards.
Dominic held the bag tightly and said with a smile.
"I don't have anything going on right now, and I'd like to go out and look around too."
Hearing him say this, Cordelia nodded, and they got in the car together.
Donald had another gathering today. Some of his old friends had heard he was back in the country and had arranged to come to The Stone Manor today.

Cordelia got out of the car, and Dominic naturally took Amber from Cordelia's arms.
The two of them walked into the mall together.
Passing by a brand makeup store, Amber couldn't move anymore and immediately pointed at the makeup store, "Mommy, buy buy buy."
Hearing Amber's words, Cordelia smiled helplessly.
Dominic cooperated with Amber and carried her toward the makeup store.
