Chapter 327 Ecstatic

Chapter 327 Ecstatic

Cordelia's hand froze slightly as she handed him the slippers, and her face instantly flushed red.

"You..."

Alaric saw her standing at the door, his expression calm as he unfastened the watch on his wrist.

After struggling with it for a while without success, he looked at Cordelia and extended his hand.

"There might be some sand stuck in it. I can't get it off. Help me out."

His hand was hurting a bit now, and he didn't dare use too much force to remove the watch.

Cordelia looked away, her face flushed.

"Give me your hand. Turn around."

Alaric acted as if he hadn't heard and took two steps toward Cordelia.

Cordelia's heart skipped a beat.

Alaric stopped right in front of her, then held out his hand with the watch, without turning around.

Seeing him calmly extend his watch-wearing hand in front of her, Cordelia quietly took a breath.

She lowered her head to remove his watch, only to find that the clasp was indeed stuck with sand and very difficult to remove.

Especially when she looked down, it was hard not to notice certain things. The whole time she was removing the watch, Cordelia felt her face burning.

Finally getting it off, she breathed a huge sigh of relief, shoved the watch into Alaric's hand, then turned and quickly walked away.

Alaric watched Cordelia's retreating figure, his lips curving slightly. He reached out to close the bathroom door, a triumphant smile on his face.

The seduction play.

Seemed to work pretty well.

When Evelyn came back, she saw Cordelia alone in the living room, fiddling with medical supplies.

She glanced around the living room and, not seeing Alaric, casually asked.

"Where's Alaric?"

Hearing this, Cordelia couldn't help but recall certain images in her mind. She coughed lightly, glanced upstairs, and said uncomfortably, "Taking a shower."

Evelyn nodded slightly, then looked down and noticed Cordelia's face was unusually red. She walked over to Cordelia and felt her forehead with the back of her hand.

"You're a bit warm. Are you running a fever?"

Hearing this, Cordelia put down the disinfectant in her hand and patted her cheeks. "I don't think so."

Evelyn looked at her uncomfortable appearance and immediately understood that Alaric had probably done something again.

Evelyn had figured it out—Alaric had been willing to throw away his dignity to pursue Cordelia lately.

He'd use any trick in the book.

"Good. After you finish up, get some rest early. Make sure you don't catch a cold."

Cordelia softly agreed, "Okay, you go rest too."

After organizing the supplies, she suddenly remembered she hadn't brought Alaric a bath towel.

There was only her towel in the bathroom, a very pink one that Alaric probably wouldn't use.

She sighed softly and found a brand-new towel from the supplies cabinet to take to Alaric.

When she walked to the bathroom door, she saw Alaric standing there wrapped in her towel.

The pink towel stood out sharply against his tanned skin.

Cordelia looked at her towel wrapped around him with a very complicated expression.

"Don't you have a cleanliness obsession?"

Hearing this, Alaric looked up at Cordelia and said gently.

"As long as it's yours, I seem to be totally fine with it."

Cordelia was speechless but couldn't bring herself to look at him.

His physique was just too hot. Cordelia didn't want to have weird dreams again tonight.

She immediately shoved the new towel into his hands and said in a low voice, "Change it."

Alaric saw her looking very uncomfortable, raised his eyebrows slightly, and shook his head in refusal.

"Changing again would be such a hassle."

"And you still need to treat my wound."

Hearing this, Cordelia took a breath and bit her lip. Fine, she'd just give up on that towel.

Seeing her silence, Alaric smiled. "Let's go. Come treat my wound."

Cordelia took a deep breath. Seeing he was about to go downstairs like that, she grabbed him. "Wait, I'll find you something to wear."

Upon hearing this, Alaric's steps paused slightly.

She had men's clothes here?

Could they be Dominic's?

The smile on his face immediately turned heavy.

Cordelia walked to her closet, opened it, and pulled out a small storage box from the bottom.

Inside were neatly folded clothes that Alaric had worn during his stay at the Stone Manor three years ago.

Alaric watched quietly from the side. Only when he saw that the clothes and pants Cordelia handed him were from his custom brand did his anxious heart finally settle.

When he reached out to take the clothes, he also grabbed Cordelia's hand and pulled her directly into his arms.

Cordelia paused and struggled.

Alaric's voice was slightly hoarse, his tone very soft and gentle.

"Don't move. Let me hold you."

Just moments ago, while Cordelia was getting the clothes, an inexplicable fear had risen in his heart.

He was terrified of seeing Cordelia bring him another man's clothes.

When he was truly surrounded by that inner fear, he suddenly understood that during the three years Cordelia was married to him, she probably felt just as insecure.

During those three years, she never felt secure with him.

Cordelia was held tightly by Alaric, his scorching body temperature making her feel inexplicably hot.

She didn't know if it was because of the drugged wine she'd drunk, but now being teased by Alaric seemed to be bringing on the effects.

Her face was flushed, and various messy thoughts flashed through her mind.

After a few seconds, she said in a hoarse voice.

"I'm a bit tired."

Alaric quickly said softly.

"Then let's treat the wound tomorrow. You should get to bed and sleep."

After saying this, he showed no intention of letting her go.

Cordelia looked up at him from his embrace. "If we don't treat it and your hand becomes useless, wouldn't I have to take responsibility for you?"

Alaric replied softly, "You don't need to take responsibility."

Cordelia snorted lightly and pushed him away. "Hurry up and go to the dressing room to change."

Seeing she was truly getting sleepy, Alaric stopped dragging things out.

After changing his clothes, he saw Cordelia waiting for him at the door and followed her downstairs.

Downstairs, Cordelia had already prepared all the tools needed to clean the wound.

She was especially focused while cleaning Alaric's wound.

There was quite a bit of sand stuck in the wound's crevices, and it hurt when she cleaned it.

Alaric gripped the corner of Cordelia's clothes tightly.

After cleaning the wound, Cordelia rewrapped Alaric's hand with gauze.

While bandaging the wound, she asked.

"You didn't drink on the yacht, did you?"

Alaric shook his head. "No."

"You said I couldn't drink during this time, so I didn't."

He answered sincerely, his warm gaze falling on Cordelia as he spoke, as if waiting for her praise.

When Cordelia's eyes met his expectant gaze, she responded almost instinctively.

"Very good."

"Remember to take your medicine when you get back tonight."

"Go on back. I need to rest too."

After she finished speaking, she had completed the bandaging.

Seeing her tired expression, Alaric got up from the sofa and said softly.

"I'll head back then. Get some rest early. Good night."

Cordelia nodded lightly and replied, "Good night."

Alaric walked out of the Stone Manor with satisfaction.

After putting away the supplies, Cordelia went upstairs.

Just as Alaric reached the entrance of the Stone Manor, his phone rang.

He took out his phone and glanced at it—it was a call from Cordelia.

Suppressing his wild joy, he immediately answered.

"What's wrong?"

Cordelia's voice came through the phone. "Come back."

Hearing this, Alaric was overjoyed.

Was Cordelia asking him to stay overnight at the Stone Manor?
