Chapter 195 Are You Great? Try It and You'll Know!
Crown Hill Estates.
Robert slowly pulled the car to a stop.
After unbuckling his seatbelt, he was about to step out and open the rear door for Alaric. But just as he reached for the handle, Alaric—who was sitting in the back seat—rubbed his temples and spoke in a cold, tired voice.
"You can head back now."
Hearing this, Robert nodded. "Alright then, Mr. Hughes. You should get some rest too.”
Alaric didn't respond.
Robert got out of the car and walked a few steps away, but then hesitated and returned.
Standing beside the car, he lingered for a few seconds before speaking again.
“Mr. Hughes… maybe you should try being a little more direct with Ms. Stone—like those other guys. Maybe she’d find you more appealing that way.”
Alaric remained silent.
Through the car window, Robert couldn't clearly see Alaric’s expression.
But the man inside still gave no reply.
Robert inwardly cursed himself.
How could Mr. Hughes possibly act like those ordinary men? This was Alaric Hughes, after all.
“Sorry, Mr. Hughes,” he quickly added. “Just pretend I didn’t say anything.”
When no response came, Robert forced an awkward smile and hurried away.
Sitting alone in the back seat, Alaric felt something stir in his chest.
After finishing their meal, Cordelia and Herschel returned together to the hospital parking lot.
As always, Herschel walked Cordelia to her car and courteously opened the door for her.
Cordelia leaned down to get in the car, thanking him softly.
Just as she was about to start the engine, Hannah stepped out of the elevator nearby.
She looked exhausted after a full day of surgeries, scrolling through messages from friends while rummaging through her bag for her car keys.
Seeing her, Cordelia opened the car door and stepped out.
"Hannah."
Hearing Cordelia call her name, Hannah looked up and slipped her phone back into her pocket.
"Didn't you get off work early? Why are you still here?”
As she spoke, Hannah’s gaze drifted toward Herschel, who was standing beside Cordelia, silently asking with her eyes, who's this?
Cordelia immediately made the introduction. "This is my friend, Herschel."
Then she turned to him. “Herschel, this is Hannah—my good friend from college and now my colleague.”
Hannah extended her hand, and Herschel returned the gesture with a brief handshake.
Seeing that the two women seemed to have more to talk about—and that he had already accomplished his goal of walking Cordelia to the parking lot—Herschel spoke up gently.
“You two go ahead and catch up. The bar needs to start getting ready for tonight, so I should head back."
Cordelia didn't try to stop him. “Alright. Drive safely.”
Herschel nodded. "You too."
Cordelia gave him a small smile.
After Herschel left, Hannah immediately looped her arm through Cordelia’s, her expression brightening with curiosity.
"A suitor?"
He was fairly handsome, but compared to Alaric, his presence lacked a certain commanding aura.
Then again, there were very few people in the country who could rival Alaric in that regard.
Cordelia shook her head.
"No."
"He was Dominic's classmate. We were fairly close back then.”
As she said this, Cordelia suddenly remembered something and quickly added.
"Hannah, I remember you mentioning that you have a cousin who’s a celebrity, right?”
Hannah nodded.
"Yeah."
“My cousin loves hanging out at bars. He’s a total playboy.”
“But he’s never tried to build some polished ‘good guy’ image in the entertainment industry. He’s always been upfront about who he is—even presenting himself as a playboy to his fans.”
“Strangely enough, that honesty has made him incredibly popular.”
Cordelia smiled at Hannah.
“I remember he’s a bit of a playboy,” Cordelia said. “Herschel owns a bar, doesn’t he? Maybe you could invite your cousin along sometime. We could hang out there and help bring some business his way.”
With Hannah’s cousin being so famous, if he showed up at Herschel’s bar, his fans would likely flock there as well. The place would become popular overnight.
Hearing this, Hannah looked slightly surprised.
"Haven't you always disliked places like bars?"
Back in college, Hannah had loved going to bars, though she rarely went anymore after starting work.
But if she remembered correctly, whenever she invited Cordelia to go with her back then, Cordelia had always refused without hesitation.
“Herschel seems closer to you than he is to me,”
Hannah said with a hint of jealousy.
Cordelia smiled helplessly and briefly explained how Herschel had once been expelled from school because of her.
Hannah immediately understood.
Cordelia had never liked owing people favors, and Herschel’s expulsion because of her was more than just a small debt of gratitude.
Hannah nodded in agreement. "Sure."
“I’ll check with my cousin to see when he’s free, and we'll get him to come out."
As she spoke, Hannah took out her phone and sent a message to Harry Lewis.
Harry had over one hundred million followers on social media.
Among male singers, he was practically at the very top.
With his handsome looks and athletic build, even though he openly lived like a playboy, plenty of people still adored him.
And because he never bothered to cultivate a fake public image—simply doing whatever he pleased, dancing at bars and casually showing off his physique—he had driven countless fans wild.
After receiving Harry's message, Hannah immediately looked up at Cordelia.
"He's free the day after tomorrow."
The day after tomorrow was Friday, and both she and Hannah had Saturday off.
Perfect timing.
Cordelia nodded. "Alright, I'll let Herschel know to reserve a table."
Hannah agreed and continued chatting with Harry on her phone.
Her expression lit up with excitement as she looked up at Cordelia.
"He says he's bringing some good friends. All of them are genuine young hotties."
Even before meeting them, Hannah was already getting excited.
Seeing her like this, Cordelia couldn't help but smile.
Soon, Friday arrived.
Cordelia had a habit of checking on her patients before leaving work each day.
When she walked into Jason's room, he was flirting with the high-end caregiver his mother had hired for him.
The caregiver's face was flushed pink from his teasing.
When she noticed Cordelia enter, the caregiver immediately stood up from Jason’s bedside and greeted her politely. "Dr. Stone."
Cordelia gave a slight nod, stepped into the room, and began checking on Jason’s recovery.
Young people tended to recover quickly. At Jason’s current rate of improvement, he could likely be discharged in less than a week.
After finishing the examination, Cordelia casually casually.
“Make sure you rest regularly every day. And don’t overdo it with sex."
At her words, the caregiver’s ears turned bright red.
Jason, however, looked unconcerned. “You doctors even regulate that now?”
Cordelia's expression remained calm. "Your tailbone hasn't fully healed yet. If you strain your lower back, it could affect your stamina and endurance in the future. She paused slightly. “Especially if you weren't that strong to begin with."
With that, she turned and left the room.
From the look in Cordelia’s eyes, Jason caught a hint of mockery.
Young and hot-blooded, he couldn’t tolerate such humiliation. As soon as Cordelia walked away, he threw off the blanket, got out of bed, and strode to the doorway, calling after her retreating figure.
"Dr. Stone, whether I have stamina or not, whether I'm strong or not - why don't you try me and find out?"
The moment he finished speaking, the entire hallway fell silent.
Standing at the elevator door, Alaric's face darkened terribly.
