I was almost ready the dark blue evening gown fit perfectly hugging my curves in a way that was both elegant and powerful.

I was putting in my diamond earrings when I heard a soft knock on my bedroom door.

"It's open," I called out thinking it was Marcus probably here to tell me the guests were arriving early or that we were running late.

Ugh!

I snapped my head to the side seeing as the person didn’t speak my eyes widening as they landed on his dark orbs.

It was Ares.

He stood there for a moment just looking at me. He was wearing a black tuxedo that made him look even bigger and more handsome than usual.

"You look beautiful," he said his voice low and rough cutting through the silence.

My heart started beating faster. "Thank you," I whispered.

He began to walk the distance between us to where I stood in front of the big mirror I could feel his warmth before he even touched me.

His masculine scent something clean and sharp like soap and the night air filled my senses making my head feel a little dizzy.

I didn't mean to but I found myself leaning back letting my body rest against his solid comfortable chest.

He slipped his arms came around my waist holding me firmly his touch so warm, so strong.

He lowered his head nuzzling his face against the side of my neck his skin was warm against mine.

"These diamonds," he murmured his lips brushing my skin as he spoke. He was talking about my earrings. "They're nothing compared to the fire in your eyes princess"

I let out a shaky breath.

His words his touch it was all too much it sent wave off shivers running down to my core.

"I mean it," he continued his voice a low rumble against my ear. His hands tightened on my waist. "Every man in that room tonight is going to look at you they’re going to want you but they can’t have you. Do you know why princess?”

I could barely think. "Why?" I breathed.

"Because you're mine," he whispered as he trailed a line of soft slow kisses from my ear down to my bare shoulder. "All of this... this beautiful, ravishing woman... belongs to me and as you stand give speeche, all I'm going to be thinking about is bringing you back up here and taking this gorgeous dress off you."

His words were so direct so possessive.

His words made desire pool up as my breath caught in my throat, and I was completely breathless, lost in the feeling of his arms around me and his voice in my ear.

His kisses trailed down, his hot whisper in my ear sending shivers straight through my whole body.

Fuck! Ares is going to be the end of me.

I wanted him so bad.

"And when I get you alone later," he continued, his hands moving slowly on my waist, "I'm going to make you scream my name. I'm going to make all the right reason leave your head, all you’d be thinking off is the feeling of me inside of you. I'm going to make you forget everything except how I make you feel. You are mine Alyssa every beautiful, stubborn part of you."

His words were like a fire melting the ice I tried so hard to keep around myself.

I could feel my heart pounding my skin getting hot.

"If you keep talking like that," I finally managed to say my voice shaky, "we are going to be very very late for the event and we don’t want that do we?"

I felt him smile against my neck. "I don't mind," he murmured. "Let them wait I don’t mind ravishing you all night—-"

I turned my head just enough to look at him "You pervert," I whispered.

He chuckled a deep warm sound that vibrated against my back. "Only for you princess, only ever for you."

He gave me one last slow kiss on my shoulder that made my knees feel weak before he slowly let me go.

The cool air hit my skin where his warmth had been and I almost reached back for him never wanting to let go.

"Come on," he said his voice back to its normal,
steady tone though his eyes were still dark with promise. "Let's go show them all who's in charge."

He offered me his arm and I took it my hand trembling slightly.

My core was still wet but I knew better than to say anything, Ares wouldn’t miss a chance to take me right there and not that I didn’t want that too but we had dinner to attend.
