Chapter 353 Ms. Bourbon Is Not Really Doing It for Your Sake

Becky shook her head apologetically and said, "Sorry, Andy. I talked to Ms. Bourbon about it, but she thinks it's a bit dangerous, so I'm not going. You guys have fun though."

Andy was stunned and said with some disappointment, "What? She just said no like that? What's dangerous about it? Our whole trip has safety guarantees. It's really not dangerous at all. Didn't you tell them that?"

Becky said, "I did, but Ms. Bourbon thinks the trip is too long and there are too many unpredictable factors. I don't want to make her worry, so... sorry, Andy."

Andy was a bit unhappy. "Why though? This is clearly a great opportunity to challenge yourself. Most parents would agree, right? Is it because she's not your real mom, so she deliberately doesn't want what's good for you?"

Becky was taken aback and quickly shook her head to explain. "Don't talk about Ms. Bourbon like that. She's really good to me. She doesn't want me to go this time because she's just being responsible for my safety. It's not like what you're saying."

Andy pulled a face. "But all the other friends' parents agreed. You're the only one who can't go. Isn't that a buzzkill for everyone?"

Becky was getting unhappy too. Originally everyone had agreed to go home and ask their parents, and nobody said everyone had to go.

Her not being able to go wasn't a big deal - it was just one activity. Was this really necessary? And talking bad about Ms. Bourbon too.

She used to have a pretty good relationship with Andy, but today, after Andy said these things, she felt somewhat dissatisfied with him.

She said sullenly, "Well, there's nothing I can do about it. Anyway, I'm not going. If you guys want to go, go by yourselves."

Then she sat down at her seat, opened her backpack, and took out her books one by one.

Andy was her desk mate. Seeing she was unhappy, he pursed his lips, sat down next to her, and said in a tone as if he was looking out for her, "Becky, don't you really feel it? Didn't you say Ms. Bourbon is pregnant again? I really think the way she controls you is weird. There are so many things she could let you try, but she won't agree to them. I think she doesn't care about you at all - she only cares about her own child."

Becky couldn't listen anymore. With a loud thud, she put her book on the desk, stood up to look at Andy, and said angrily, "What's wrong with you? Why do you keep trying to drive a wedge between me and Ms. Bourbon? Ms. Bourbon is very good to me. You don't need to worry about it. If I hear you say this kind of thing again, I'll never be friends with you anymore!"

Her voice was loud, and all the classmates in the classroom heard it. They curiously came over to ask, "Becky, what did Andy say?"

"Andy, what did you say to make Becky so angry?"

Andy's face couldn't hold up. He snorted and ran out of the classroom.

Becky also sat in her seat, still very angry inside, but she tried hard to shift her attention to her books.

After two classes, Andy finally came back. As soon as he returned, he acted like nothing had happened, came up to Becky, and said, "Do you know where I went? The dean called me over to help move practice workbooks. We're getting new workbooks!"

Becky responded with a cold "Oh."

Andy nudged her. "Are you still mad? Don't be mad anymore. What I said earlier was a bit too much. I was just looking out for you. How was I supposed to know you wouldn't want to hear it? I won't say it anymore."

Becky corrected him, "Ms. Bourbon is a very good person. You can't slander her anymore. If she knew my friend misunderstood her like this, she'd be really sad!"

Andy said helplessly, "Okay, okay, I won't say it anymore. So are we good now?"

Only then did Becky show a smile. "Yeah, we're good."

Kids' tempers come and go quickly. By the third class, Andy had a new idea. "If you don't want to go to Seaside City, how about we go to the museum instead? It's right in the suburbs of Majestic City. We can just take a bus there. My relative's older brother is a tour guide. We can go with his tour group. That should be safe enough, right?"

Becky was surprised. "So you guys aren't going to Seaside City anymore?"

Andy nodded and said, "You're not going, so why would we still go? Good friends should be together, of course. What's the point if we're not together?"

He said eagerly, "Think about it - the museum is close by, and my relative will look after us. There's nothing to worry about now, right? Why don't you go back and ask Ms. Bourbon if she'll agree?"

Becky thought about it and said, "Okay, I'll go back and ask."

Andy was very happy. "Then it's settled. Make sure you ask her properly. If that doesn't work, act cute or cry a little. Usually when we make a fuss, they'll agree."

Becky frowned. "Ms. Bourbon won't refuse me for no reason. If she thinks something shouldn't be done, I won't throw a tantrum."

Andy paused, opened his mouth as if wanting to say something, but ultimately said nothing and just sighed.

Today at work, Arabella somehow felt distracted. During lunch break, she called Philip.

For some reason, after going abroad, this guy seemed to have even deleted his WhatsApp. When she mentioned her marriage in the group chat earlier, Philip had no reaction at all.

She messaged Philip separately, but he didn't reply either.

Arabella simply called him directly.

And the international call charges definitely needed to be reimbursed by this guy.

The phone rang for a long time with no answer. Arabella didn't believe it and called several times in a row, but no one picked up.

She suddenly felt a bit panicked and quickly called Alexander, telling him about not being able to reach Philip.

Alexander comforted her on the phone, "He should be fine. I was in touch with him a few days ago. He went to Finland to handle an evaluation of non-performing assets. There's probably a time difference."

Hearing this, Arabella was stunned. "You've been keeping in touch with Philip?"

Alexander's voice carried a smile as he replied, "Forgot to tell you - his overseas work is evaluating mortgage debt assets for the FitzRoy Group. He's now the deputy of his department and sends me daily work reports by email."

Arabella was shocked. "So Philip's working for you now? You two are really tight-lipped, keeping this from me for so long. If it hadn't come up this time, who knows how long you would have kept me in the dark!"

Alexander, afraid she was angry, quickly explained, "I really forgot to tell you. I didn't deliberately keep it from you."

How could Arabella really blame him? She smiled and said, "I know."

Since that was the case, she felt relieved. "Then I'll call him tonight. By the way, his phone number hasn't changed, right?"

"No." Alexander replied, "I'll send you his new WhatsApp."

Good grief - he added Alexander on his new WhatsApp but not her.

Arabella was really jealous now. "This can't be settled without two meals."

Alexander's voice carried a smile. "How about ten meals?"
