Chapter 33 You Call This Acting?

Chapter 33 You Call This Acting?

"Anthony, who would've thought three years in prison would turn you into a complete circus clown."

Theresa sneered.

"To get my attention, you actually hired stunt performers and put on this whole show."

"You think doing this will make me like you again, get engaged to you again, become your fiancée?"

"I can only say you've really lost it."

"What, paying people to act?"

David beside her suddenly understood.

"That explains it. This guy's just a criminal who just got kicked out by his own family."

"Let's be honest, right now he doesn't even have a place to live."

"But in this situation, this guy still pays out of his own pocket to do something this ridiculous..."

As he spoke, David shook his head with disgust all over his face.

"Even for saving face, there's no need to go this far."

He said angrily, his eyes looking at Theresa beside him with mockery.

"This guy probably still can't get over you, trying to get your attention this way."

Theresa snorted coldly: "A loser is a loser. He doesn't realize that doing this only makes me more disgusted..."

"David, there's nothing between him and me anymore, and I won't give him another look. What I appreciate is a successful businessman like you..."

"Looks like you have good taste."

David, finally finding some sense of validation, was quite pleased.

After standing up for Theresa earlier, he'd been suppressed by Anthony the whole time.

Most surprisingly, he even got slapped in the face.

Now, with Theresa exposing the truth, it was finally his time to hold his head high...

The others around them also suddenly understood.

"So that's it, I almost believed his nonsense."

"Who would've thought this Anthony's acting skills reached this level, truly amazing. Even I almost got fooled..."

Green also had a look of sudden realization.

"What are you saying, paying people to act? You people are absolutely ridiculous."

Sophia beside them spoke up angrily.

"Oh, Sophia's professional standards don't seem that great either. After being exposed, you're actually getting angry from embarrassment. Is this how your hotel trains employees?"

After hearing Sophia say this, some classmates started fighting back.

But the next second, bang.

A crisp, pleasant sound startled everyone present.

Looking over, they found that Sophia had already opened that bottle of Romanée-Conti.

At this moment, Sophia's tone was ice-cold, her presence fully unleashed.

"This is the most expensive wine at our Golden Ember Hotel, worth millions of dollars per bottle. You call this paying people to act?"

"Oh my god, she actually opened this famous wine."

Green on the side made a big fuss, looking shocked.

James beside him couldn't help but snort coldly.

"Since she's a hired actress, you really think this wine is that valuable?"

"Right, right." Green suddenly understood: "I almost got fooled just now. I have to say, when scammers act, every step is perfectly designed. It's really hard to guard against."

"Everyone better watch out from now on, don't get scammed."

Green even gave a friendly reminder to other classmates to be careful.

"This is fake wine? You short-sighted people."

Sophia looked angry. Just now, to prove Anthony wasn't a scammer, she angrily opened this famous wine.

But these ignorant people actually said this was fake wine, a prop for acting.

Sophia's ice-cold gaze turned to David.

"Compared to your short-sighted classmates, you should at least have some knowledge."

"Do you know any wine experts? If so, get one over here to see if this Romanée-Conti is real or fake."

"Well..."

David gritted his teeth: "You know what, I happen to know a famous wine expert, and he happens to be nearby."

Sophia nodded: "You can call him and have him come over to authenticate this wine."

"Fine, I'll call now. But my wine expert relative is very famous in the industry, so you better not regret it later."

Since Anthony was paying people to act, he was well-traveled and couldn't be intimidated by this noble and cold-looking Sophia.

David immediately took out his phone and made a call.

"Uncle Cordell, I have a famous wine here that needs your authentication..."

"Okay, David, I'll head to the Golden Ember Hotel right away."

More than ten minutes later, wine expert Cordell rushed into the private room.

As soon as he entered, he took a deep breath and exclaimed in surprise.

"Wait, this is the aroma of 1945 Romanée-Conti! Pure, so pure!"

Cordell's eyes lit up.

He walked straight to the famous wine Sophia had opened, carefully picked up the bottle, and examined the label and bottle body closely.

Seeing his exaggerated expression, David was shocked and stunned.

"Uncle Cordell, wait, you mean... this bottle of wine is real?"

Cordell turned around, looking at David with excitement all over his face: "Of course it's real! David, I didn't expect you to be so generous, treating friends at a hotel and ordering such expensive famous wine. You know this bottle is worth over 4 million dollars on the market."

He paused, then added: "Honestly, if this bottle hadn't been opened, it would be worth more than a dozen apartments in midtown Manhattan..." The room filled with the sound of gasps.

Someone was the first to cry out.

"My god, this wine is actually real."

Green was shocked and stunned.

The confidence that had been on his face just now completely disappeared.

James beside him twitched at the corners of his mouth, already starting to mutter in shock.

"If this is real, that's too crazy. Doesn't that mean Anthony wasn't paying people to act at all?"

Theresa's face looked terrible.

"My god, this is too extravagant. If I had this bottle of wine, you couldn't pay me to open it. I'd rather have those dozen apartments in the city center."

A classmate kept sighing with regret.

James beside them snorted coldly with disdain.

"Stop embarrassing yourself, just shut up. You can't understand how rich people think, poverty has limited your imagination..."

Slapped in the face again, David's expression was extremely ugly.

In his frustration, he couldn't help but roar at Theresa.

"Damn woman, didn't you say he was paying people to act? But what's the result? This?"

"I, I..."

Theresa stammered, her face red, unable to speak.

She never expected that this time she really misjudged.

Sophia coldly swept her eyes over everyone, her tone ice-cold:

"The farce is over. Now, please leave. You're not welcome here."

"What? Not welcome? Does that mean this class reunion just ends like this?"

A classmate looked completely unwilling.

After all, holding a class reunion at the Golden Ember Hotel would be enough to brag about for most of his life.

But now...

"Miss Sophia, could you be flexible? We..."

Green tried to salvage the situation.

"Sorry, the Golden Ember Hotel only welcomes distinguished guests, not a bunch of ignorant and arrogant people."

Sophia said bluntly.

"You insulted our VIP guest and also insulted our hotel's reputation. Now, please leave immediately, or I'll call security."
