Chapter 241 Cut It Clean Immediately
Chapter 241 Cut It Clean Immediately
"You!" Julian's face flushed red with anger. "You're still denying it now? A clean, innocent girl like her wouldn't make up something like this to smear you?"
Victoria kept her head down, tears dropping one by one onto the back of her hand.
She bit her lip, then looked up at Sean, her eyes full of tears. "Shay, I know you don't like me, but this baby is really yours... That night, even though you were drugged, you weren't completely out of it. You held me and kept calling Nina's name..."
Her voice grew softer, and two patches of red appeared on her cheeks.
Sean's face darkened.
"You held me and said you wanted me. When I refused, you got really angry and used a lot of force..." Victoria choked up, and her tears fell even harder. "I was so scared, but I didn't dare fight back because you were so rough..."
"I was going to pretend nothing happened, but I didn't expect to end up pregnant with your child." Victoria lifted her head, her eyes wet with tears. "The baby is innocent. He needs a complete family and a dad."
"Shay, you have to take responsibility for Victoria." Julian's voice came down like a hammer. "Marry Victoria."
"No way." Sean's voice was low, but every word sounded like it was forced out through his teeth.
"No way?" Brian pushed up his glasses and gave a short laugh. "Mr. Miller, that doesn't sound very responsible."
He walked over to Victoria, patted her shoulder, then turned to Sean. "My sister was a clean, innocent girl until you ruined her and got her pregnant with your kid. You think you can brush it off with just 'no way'?"
Victoria covered her face and started crying, her whole body shaking. "Brother, stop. I don't want to force him. I can raise the child on my own..."
"Quiet," Brian said, shielding her behind him. His eyes turned cold as he stared at Sean. "Mr. Miller, since I'm here today, I'm going to get justice for my sister. If you refuse to take responsibility, I'll have her expose you to the media for forcing her. You'll lose everything."
As he spoke, he waved toward the door.
The living room door opened, and four or five people walked in. Some carried cameras, some held microphones, and one had a press badge hanging around his neck.
"My reporter friends happen to be free today," Brian said with a smile that hid a threat. "They're very interested in what happened between you and my sister. If you don't believe me, Mr. Miller, we can hold a press conference right now and let everyone judge for themselves."
The red lights on the cameras lit up, and the lenses pointed straight at Sean's face.
Sean stood still, looking at the cameras aimed at him, then glanced at Victoria on the couch, who was crying hard. The corner of his mouth curved into a faint smile.
"Brian," he said evenly, "if you do this, I promise you won't see tomorrow's sun."
Victoria's crying stopped abruptly, and her back visibly stiffened.
Brian's face changed for a second, but he quickly put on his confident look again. "Mr. Miller, are you threatening the victim in front of reporters? The cameras are recording everything."
"Go ahead and record," Sean said, turning to face the cameras without any hesitation. "Actually, I'd like everyone to see how the Miller family's adopted daughter drugged her own adoptive brother, got pregnant with his child, and then came here with a baby bump trying to trap him. Let's show everyone how ugly it is when someone repays kindness with betrayal."
Victoria's face went white.
"You're lying!" she jumped up, her voice sharp and cracking. "Where's your proof that I drugged you? Don't make false accusations!"
"Proof?" Sean raised an eyebrow. "You think I can't find any?"
Victoria's lips trembled, and the tears in her eyes—whether from fear or acting—made her look like she was about to collapse.
"Enough!" Julian slammed his hand on the coffee table, making the cups rattle.
His eyes moved between Sean and Victoria.
"You," he pointed at Victoria, "the Miller family treated you well, and you still plotted against Shay like this. Once you have the baby, we'll settle this slowly."
He knew his son well enough to know he would never mess around with his adoptive sister. Victoria must have done something. But she was pregnant now, and if she went around talking, it could hurt the Miller family's reputation and Miller Inc.'s stock price. The priority was to keep her quiet.
Victoria's face turned even paler. She moved her lips like she wanted to say something, but Julian glared at her and she backed down.
"And you," Julian turned to Sean, his finger almost poking him in the nose. "One thing at a time. No matter what she did, she's carrying your child right now. Cut things off with that Nina outside right away and marry Victoria."
Sean didn't answer. He just looked at his father, his eyes calm like still water.
"I already said I never touched her. Someone drugged me and I was completely unconscious. How could a passed-out person force her?"
"You!" Julian's hands shook with anger. "You're still denying it at this point!"
"Uncle, please don't be angry..." Victoria quickly stepped forward to hold Julian's arm, her eyes red and her voice soft and weak. "Shay just can't accept it right now. Give him some time..."
Sean looked at her coldly. "You know in your heart whether the child is mine."
Victoria looked up at him, tears still clinging to her lashes, looking pitiful.
She bit her lip like she'd made up her mind, her voice quiet but firm. "Shay, if you don't believe me, I can do a paternity test."
The living room went quiet for a few seconds.
Sean's brow twitched almost imperceptibly.
Brian jumped in right away, sounding completely sure of himself. "When the results are in black and white, we'll see what Mr. Miller has to say then!"
Julian nodded. "Fine, let's do it. With modern medical technology, it is what it is. No one can deny the truth."
As he said this, his eyes landed on Victoria with a hint of warning.
But Victoria showed no panic at all. She straightened up, one hand protecting her belly, her expression completely open.
"Let's go now," she said, picking up her bag from the couch. She glanced at Sean, her eyes carrying an unreadable look. "Shay, once the results come out, you'll believe me."
