Chapter 50 Friends with Benefits: Make up sex

Chapter 50 Friends with Benefits: Make up sex
POV: Nayla

I heard the moan before I saw them. A soft, breathy sound I knew too well, because I had made it myself last night in Kade’s arms.

My stomach dropped like I had stepped off a cliff.

I had come to the parking garage beneath Blu Hotels to surprise him.

I received a message that he was here and I should surprise him. I wanted to make him happy as his girlfriend.

I had his favourite coffee in one hand, a stupid little grin on my face, and a plan to drag him away from whatever meeting he was in so we could spend the whole day in bed again.

Instead I found Kamila pressed against him, her arms around his neck, her tongue in his mouth.

Kade’s hands were on her shoulders, pushing, but from the angle I stood, frozen behind a concrete pillar, it looked like he was holding her.

Like he wanted it.

The coffee slipped from my fingers and shattered on the ground.

Kamila broke the kiss first. Her eyes flicked straight to me, a flash of triumph so quick I almost missed it, then fake shock.

“Nayla…”

Kade spun around. The second he saw me, his face went white.

“Nayla, no. This isn’t…”

I didn’t wait. I turned and walked, fast, heels clicking too loud in the empty garage. I heard him behind me, footsteps running.

“Nayla, stop!”

I didn’t stop. I made it to the elevator, jabbed the button, prayed the doors would close before he reached me.

They didn’t.

He slammed his hand against the door just as it started to shut, forcing it open again. Then he was inside with me, chest heaving, eyes wild.

“Listen to me,” he said, voice cracking.

“She set it up. She texted me this morning saying she had evidence that Rex was planning something worse tonight and she had only given it to me in person. I came down here to get it and end this once and for all. She grabbed me the second I stepped out of the car. I was pushing her off. I swear on my life.”

I stared at the elevator wall, arms wrapped around myself. My throat was burning.

He rushed off this morning like his life depended on it. I didn't know he wanted to see his ex-girlfriend Kamila.

“I heard you moan,” I said quietly.

“That was her,” he said instantly. “Not me. I didn’t kiss her back. I didn’t want it. I don’t want her. I want you.”

The elevator dinged. Top floor. His penthouse. I hadn’t even noticed he had pressed the button.

He didn’t move to get out. He just stood there, blocking the doors open with his body, looking like the world would end if I walked away.

“I’m not asking you to believe me blindly,” he said. “I have cameras in the garage. Every angle. We’ll watch it right now. If I’m lying, I’ll get on my knees and beg you to leave me. But I’m not lying.”

I looked at him then. I knew he wasn't lying but I wanted to act stubborn.

His shirt was wrinkled where she had grabbed it. His mouth was red, but not from desire, from trying to turn away. His eyes were wet.

I exhaled, shaky. “Show me.”

He pulled out his phone, fingers trembling as he opened the security app. Thirty seconds later we were watching the feed on the big screen in his living room.

It was crystal clear.

Kamila was waiting by his car. The second he stepped out, she launched herself at him, arms around his neck, mouth on his. Kade’s hands came up immediately, not to hold her, but to grip her shoulders and push.

His body twisted away. The moan had come from her, loud and theatrical, right before she spotted me and smiled.

He stopped the video.

I stared at the frozen frame of Kamila’s smirk.

“I’m sorry you had to see that,” he whispered. “I’m sorry I didn’t handle it better. I should’ve known she would pull something.”

I turned to him slowly.

“I believe you,” I said.

Relief crashed over his face so hard he had to lean against the wall.

“But I’m done being the girl who waits while other people try to take what’s mine,” I continued. My voice was steady now. “Next time someone touches you, I’m not running. I’m breaking their fingers.”

A startled laugh escaped him. “Noted.”

I stepped closer. “And you’re not allowed to look that guilty ever again. You didn’t do anything wrong.”

He swallowed hard. “I just, I can’t lose you. Not now. Not when I finally have you.”

I reached up, cupped his face. “You won’t.”

Then I kissed him, slow and deliberate, like I wanted to taste the truth on his lips. When I pulled back, his eyes were dark again, but for a different reason.

“Take me to bed,” I said. “Remind me who you belong to.”

He didn’t hesitate.

He lifted me, carried me down the hall. The door hadn’t even clicked shut behind us before Kade had me pinned against the wall.

My hands were already yanking his shirt over his head, nails scraping down his back because I wanted to claim my man.

“I fucking hate it when you're not happy with me or…,” he growled against my throat, teeth grazing the spot that always makes me weak.

“Then shut up and fuck me,” I snapped, biting his bottom lip hard enough to taste copper.

That was all it took. He spun me, palms slamming beside my head as he shoved my skirt up to my waist. My panties were gone in one rough tug.

I heard the lace rip and didn’t even care. Two thick fingers pushed inside me without warning and I gasped.

“Still mine?” he rasped, curling those fingers just right.

I rocked back against his hand, breathless. “Prove it.”

His jeans shoved down just enough, he thrust into me in one hard stroke that punched the air from my lungs.

My forehead hit the wall, a moan ripping out of me as he filled me completely, no gentleness, no patience; just raw, frantic need.

His hand fisted in my hair, pulling my head back so he could bite the curve of my neck while he fucked me like the fight was still happening.

“Say it, Ny,” he panted against my ear, pace brutal, perfect. “Say you’re mine.”

“I’m yours,” I choked out, thighs shaking. “Always…fuck…always yours.”

And soon we soon released and were both breathing heavily. It was a quickie.

We stayed there, panting against the wall, his arms finally coming around me gentle now, lips brushing my shoulder.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered.

“Me too,” I breathed.

He pulled out slowly, turned me, and kissed me softly.

Then he smirked. “Next time we fight, can we skip straight to this part?”

I laughed, still trembling. “Deal.”

Kamila’s little stunt didn’t break us.

It only made us unbreakable. I didn't know who sent the text but I was sure the person had an evil intention…I was happy we didn't fold.
