Chapter 367 - Settling a debt - mdfour
Roland
My blood is boiling. Churrusco was looking at me, waiting for instructions, just like the rest of the team.
"Rata, give support to González's family."
"Yes, Boss." I looked at Aníbal.
"Send him the coordinates, I need to make a couple of calls." I took out my cell phone and called our infiltrator.
"Boss, everything has been delivered. I'm heading out with two agents to get my family and we'll disappear for a while."
"Emilio has your family." I got nothing but silence on the other end.
"No... no, Mr. Roland... no." His voice broke.
"Simón went to get them, but..."
"Anything could happen, where are they?! Tell me where that son of a bitch is!"
"The plan is still on, we'll rescue your family."
"I've never asked you for anything, just bring them back to me safe, please."
"We're trying."
"It's obvious this was leaked from high up, because even I didn't know the full plan." He was absolutely right.
"Don't call me, I'll call you."
"Boss..."
"You helped me in the past to rescue my kids, life is giving me the privilege to repay that debt."
"Thank you, whatever the result, I know you'll do everything in your power to bring them back alive."
His voice broke at the end, and I understood the helplessness he must be feeling right now.
"Boss..."
I looked at Churrusco. On the screens, we could see Arnold getting off the helicopter, followed by Simón, both with their hoods on. Now we had direct vision. Miguel returned.
"Cebolla, bring the rest."
That was the security chief's instruction. I turned off the microphone; I already had audio from all of them through the device incorporated into their suits. Aníbal did the same; I saw him take something out of his lunchbox.
"I need you to give Simón all the satellite support, we need to see if there are connections, cameras in the place they're in, if the wife and kids are with him or somewhere else, I want the plans of that warehouse."
They were in a warehouse in Mamonal, with little vegetation, but enough to provide some cover. After several meters, it was all barren land.
"Yes, sir, are you going to inform Any?"
"The mole is in that elite group, if I call her, the informant will know. For now, I just want Emilio to feel a bit confident."
Rata and Mojón walked towards the warehouses, waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. Once Miguel dropped them off on solid ground, he moved away.
"Cebolla, stay alert for when we need you."
"Yes, sir."
They gathered, and under Rata's orders, who had looked at the plans sent by Churrusco, they proceeded to give instructions to enter the warehouse from several strategic points. Groups of two, with Rata in command.
"Cebolla..."
"Give me a minute for the drone to arrive."
I smiled. The device with cameras all around, connected to Simón's system and consequently to ours, scanned the area. It had thermal vision. The first thing was to make sure González's family was safe and not in danger of being sedated.
A large group of approximately seventy people were gathered in a big room.
"We're in position," said Rasca culo, who was with Cereza. They positioned themselves to the right side.
"We are too," said Mojón, accompanied by Rino. They were at the far end of the building.
"Also in position." Everyone was in place, Lobo and Zombi on the left side of the warehouse.
"Stop there, Cebolla, lower a bit." I looked at the thermal vision of the place, there was a moving lump, it could be the mother and the two kids, but we weren't sure. "Mojón and Rino, it looks like we found the package, not certain, take a look in the third room of the last hallway. There are three people guarding it; one at the entrance and two at the door of that room. They must be guarding something, could be them."
"Understood."
"Yes, it's them. Get them out of there, Cebolla will pick them up, then come back to support us. We'll be dealing with those seventy men."
I was aware of Aníbal's scrutinizing gaze. My blood is boiling, I hope it's them, get them out of there and make the call.
"Your silence worries me, Roland."
"Nothing new. Just waiting, I want to make that last call."
We continued watching the cameras. Arnold and Rino ventured into the warehouse, finding a window at the back. As they entered, Mojón slipped out of the area quietly and encountered the guard at that entrance.
He grabbed the guard by the neck and pulled him into the room they had entered from. The man struggled, but Rino already had the tranquilizer gun ready. As the guard fell asleep, Arnold released his grip, pulled out some tape from his camouflage, and tied the guard's legs, hands behind his back, and mouth.
They moved stealthily to the second floor, where two men awaited them. Suddenly, Arnold and Rino found themselves fighting two giant gorillas. These two weren't put to sleep; they had to be taken down. One of them pulled out a knife, and if it weren't for the suit, Rino would have been injured.
Rino drew his own knife from the belt on his back, knowing exactly where to strike. He stabbed the man, while Arnold broke his opponent's neck.
Rino was the first to enter the room. I felt immense relief seeing Sapillo's daughter, González's wife, with red eyes from crying, holding her two children tightly.
"Don't you dare touch my children!" A mother always defends her children.
"Ma'am, we're friends of González. We need to get you out of here."
"How do I know you're telling the truth?"
"Do you want to stay here?!" Arnold interjected.
"No."
She stood up, bringing her two children with her, a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl. They were just babies.
"Follow us," Mojón commanded. "Rata, any enemies? We're with two kids and don't want them to see any fighting. We'll exit the same way."
"Clear. Cebolla, head to the extraction point. Once the goods are out, we attack."
"Understood," several voices replied.
Arnold and Alfredo led González's family out. Once outside the warehouse and into the open area, where there were few trees, mostly around the warehouse and scattered along the zone.
Rino took the girl from her mother's arms, and Arnold carried the boy on his back. They began to run; time was of the essence. In the distance, the helicopter was visible. Once the children and the woman were under Cebolla's care,
"Rata, I have them," said Miguel, who took off again.
"We'll see you at the party, guys. Remember, try to put as many to sleep as possible. And we need to capture the boss alive."
As Arnold and Rino returned to provide support, Rata, Rasca culo, Cereza, Lobo, and Zombi entered the building from different points, initiating the hunt. It was a hunt because the bullets we had were those used by veterinarians to sedate big cats.
With the necessary doses, we also had real bullets, which would be used if needed. The idea came from my beloved wife. In one of our many conversations, Verónica suggested that instead of killing, we sedate them with tranquilizers and let Any handle putting them in jail.
It seemed to be working. Arnold and Rino arrived, and now all my team was in the game, fighting many, but more were falling asleep. After the first confrontation, they headed to the only place guarded by ten men who fired point-blank. My team took shots at close range, but a few were left, trying to protect the coward who was probably wetting his pants, locked in the bathroom.
"Are you done?" Rata asked. "We intended to just put them to sleep, but with all the bullets they fired, they left us with many bruises. They don't know how much it hurts. So, we'll leave them the same way."
I smiled as they launched into giving those ten men who guarded Medranito a good beating. When all had split lips, broken eyebrows, and likely broken ribs, most missing a tooth, they were tied up. The injured were also bound. Rata, alongside Rasca culo, with Arnold behind him, entered the room. The boss was trembling with fear.
"This bastard has shit himself."
