Chapter 346 - Tracking them down - mdfour
Roland
"Do you guys believe me if I say we shouldn't have let our women go? Since I saw her get into Veronica's car this morning... I don't know what I felt."
"Don't mess with me now, Gustavo."
I commented, but I felt the same way, and that's why I asked Any for permission in case I needed to leave if it came to that. At that moment, a walkie-talkie sounded.
"Lomando two calling dad!"
We all looked at Arnold, who very seriously took out the device and responded to Demetrio.
"Command one, what do you need, son?"
We all burst out laughing, not to mock him, but it made me nostalgic to remember that I haven't played that with my kids for over a year. Gregorio also showed his gums with three little teeth when he saw me laugh, carrying the child in his baby carrier.
The conversation continued between father and son as we reached the elevator. From what I understood, Demetrio was saying that he didn't break Dayana's doll; he said that toy was already broken. Arnold just sighed and talked to his daughter, calming her down by saying he'd buy her another one and not to lend it to her brother anymore.
We made two trips, and I stayed with the last group. When we arrived at the headquarters, I saw Aníbal in the personal gym, forcing himself to walk along the bar with the hired physiotherapist.
All the medical staff have confidentiality clauses. He was walking more, and it was true that the guy never rests, he only sleeps five hours and spends the rest of the time exercising, reading everything related to his careers, and working out his muscles to regain strength.
He had his back to us, and the physiotherapist noticed something was up because they left me first with the baby, and the others positioned themselves behind me. When Aníbal realized, he turned around smiling, and when he saw I was carrying his son, he froze as if it were a miracle. He walked without anyone's help.
I think he didn't even notice that the bars that helped him keep his balance were gone. Ana, the head nurse, covered her mouth when she saw him. Aníbal stood in front of me, his hands trembling, his lip too. The child extended his arms and kicked desperately to be held by his father. Without a doubt, blood calls to blood.
"Pa pa pa."
Tears streamed down my friend's face; anyone in his place would have done the same. He took his son out of the carrier, hugged him in a mix of crying and laughter, covering him with kisses. At that moment, he lost his balance, but luckily the physiotherapist was on one side, and Ana on the other, ensuring he didn't drop his son. He held onto him tightly while crying and kissing him.
"Thank you," he said. They sat him in his wheelchair, and he kept his son on his lap.
"He is not indifferent," Ana commented.
"Shirly talks to him about his dad every day and shows him pictures." The guy couldn't even speak; he just laughed and cried, hugging and kissing his son.
"Will I have him all these days?" I nodded. Everyone's phones rang, and when I looked at mine, it was my wife.
"Hi, beautiful. How was the trip?"
"Very good, with a bit of turbulence. Mrs. Josefina's blood pressure dropped, but apart from that, perfect. How are the kids?"
"Playing with all their cousins."
"And you guys?"
"At the headquarters, you know we're finishing putting together the framework."
"Don't work too hard, don't leave the kids alone for too long."
"No, honey, call me when you get to the cabin."
"That's why I was calling. It looks like the house hasn't been vacated, and we have to stay in a hotel. They'll take us to another one tomorrow." I frowned, and when I looked at Gustavo, he was already frowning too.
"They changed your itinerary just like that?"
"Yes, they apologized and are covering today's accommodation." I didn't like that.
"Alright, Veronica, don't take off your rings."
"Are you starting already?"
......
Simón
I noticed Luisa seemed uneasy, and it looked like she didn't like the change either, though I need to stop being so paranoid. Still, I had a strange feeling.
"How are the kids?"
"Playing, Pelinegra, we're working."
"Well, they're taking us to the hotel now. I love you."
I hung up the call, and when I looked at my companions, some seemed normal, but Roland, Miguel, Gustavo, and Kevin did not.
"Two guys took a picture of my wife in the bathroom," said Lobo, who was carrying his sleeping son in the baby carrier.
"They changed their destination with a lame excuse that the rented house wasn't vacated," said Miguel.
"I noticed Luisa seemed uneasy," I said.
"To your positions!"
Roland said, looking serious. Aníbal stood next to the boss. He doesn't interact constantly because he sometimes gets blocked; besides, today he should enjoy his son, who looked just like him.
"Everyone, link the coordinates of your wives' trackers to Rata's database."
I knew what he wanted. Once I had them all on my radar, I could cross-reference the information and see them in real-time using the hacked satellite.
"Simón, I want to keep an eye on our women."
"Yes, sir. Do we have a way to track the older women?" They looked at me, and at that moment, Gustavo, Roland, and Arnold called their wives.
"Reina, don't leave mom alone. You know I get strange feelings sometimes. Something could happen to old Josefina... Just keep an eye on her... Thanks, love... I miss you too."
"Sweetheart, ask my mom if she took her watch, the one we gave her... I'm not tracking them! Can you ask her?" Silence. "Thanks. On another note, Inés forgot her tumor pills, please keep an eye on her, she might get dizzy."
"Sirena, always keep an eye on your mom, I know what I'm saying, I love you."
Roland sent me Mrs. Consuelo's location and I linked it to the group. We have eleven under surveillance, and three with escorts.
"Miguel and Gustavo, I want to see their faces from the moment they arrived at the airport, don't lose sight of Carlina, they took her picture in the bathroom area."
"Yes, sir."
"Lobo, Zombi, capture faces around our wives, then pass them to Rino, Cereza, and Arnold." Roland looked at them. "I want to know how many times they go to the bathroom."
"Just images from San Antonio airport?" Roland shook his head.
"Also the arrival airport, which hotel they go to... Rata?"
"I just hope everything links up. It's already working." I said, looking at him. "What do you think?"
"That we have many enemies, many think I'm dead, but others I've directly screwed over. My past world carries many grudges, it could be anyone..." He fell silent. I saw him looking for something on his computer. "Verónica made the reservation and paid with her card."
"I'm tracking it now!" Arnold exclaimed.
"Look at this!"
Onion exclaimed. On the screen, a video of my mom, Inés, Mrs. Josefina, and Carmela appeared, all smiling. Faces were captured instantly, and with the work divided, information flowed quickly.
We were minutes away from accessing the satellite image at the provided coordinates, and I started the program to erase my tracks, so no one would know I used a satellite.
"These are the two assholes who took the bathroom photo," Rasca culo commented.
"I need to read their stories, where do they live, who the hell are they? Connections!" Roland was agitated, something didn't sit well with him.
"This one's Colombian."
Rino clarified, a photo appeared on one of the side screens and Roland's computer should display his life details.
"This one's Colombian too," Cereza added. This wasn't looking good. They followed the same procedure.
"That fat guy is also Colombian," said Arnold. "Verónica made the reservation three days ago, gave all the names of the people traveling from San Antonio to the islands."
"So they've been planning this for three days... Who are they?"
"The ones who took the photo are also Colombian," Rino repeated.
"Those are the faces of the people who approached our women on the island."
Onion confirmed. Everyone was working. Churrusco watched silently, Ana handed him a bottle for Grego. He stayed by his side while his father fed him. Cristofer started crying.
Lobo took him out of the carrier, kissed him, stepped away to change him, but Ana told him to keep working, she would handle the baby. My signal indicated I had control.
"Rata, I want to see the car, their faces, whatever you can give me," the boss said. Faces kept appearing, names. All Colombians.
For half an hour, we just gathered information, I could now support the guys in the investigation. While I linked up, I focused solely on that. Now we saw our women and they all decided to go to the hotel pool.
We were watching the faces of all the employees coming out. Some were from the island and had been working at the hotel for a long time, so we ruled them out. The suspicious ones, we investigated.
"Wow, she's beautiful!" Rino suddenly said. "Showing off my ass!"
A rubber stress ball flew from Rasca culo's desk to Rino's face.
"That's my sister you're talking about."
"And let me remind you, she's been my woman for several months now. Don't think we sleep together to count each other's fingers," he replied. Rino picked up his phone. "Cover up!" At that moment, all our women came out in two-piece swimsuits.
"But, she's beautiful!" said more than one.
"Now you understand?" I smiled.
Maybe because of what I went through with Luisa, I don't feel jealous. I'm happy to be envied. That delicious body I now see on the screen is only tasted by me. I'm the only one she accepted.
"Boss, all the information is on your computer."
"I'm seeing that. Who the hell wants to screw me? Where do these guys work?"
"There are the companies."
We read the names of the corporations on the screen, and a chill ran down my spine. I looked at Roland, then at Miguel, Gustavo, Arnold, and Cereza. The rest were too new, we used to be organized hierarchically.
"Damn it!" Roland exclaimed. "I want the full life history of Medrano's son and his direct family."
