Chapter 279 - Pregnant - meters
Guadalupe
"Tomorrow you have class," I said.
"I'm leaving early," he still wouldn't look at me.
"Your fiancée..."
"Please, Lupe, I can't get rid of the sad and disappointed look you had when I left you this afternoon. Please help me erase that from my mind." I stared at him.
"Look at me, Blondie." Calling him by my nickname for him did the trick. "I don't want you to get married, but that doesn't mean I hate you. This afternoon..." His lips took over mine.
"Mermaid, I beg you to let me erase the impression that I abused you. Never, never has that been my intention, I swear. I'd rather shoot myself than violate you."
"Arnold..."
I covered him in kisses. Within seconds, we were naked in my bed. He put a finger on my mouth.
"Don't speak, love. I'm going to take this off, just let me feel you."
He took off the half-headband he had on his ear and began kissing, licking, and biting every part of my body. His large hands returned to places only he had entered, touched, and tasted.
His strong thrusts and his finger on my clitoris, making circles to take me to another dimension, were his specialty. I love this man without a doubt; my body belongs to him. We didn't stop until we both reached climax once more. When he pulled out, he put that device back on.
"Can I ask?" I shook my head.
"No, Mermaid." He hugged me. "Tonight, let me make love to you all night."
"Has the image not faded?"
"After about a hundred fucks, ask me that question again."
"You came very quickly." How to interpret that look.
"You're pretty smart. Come, rest a bit. As soon as my friend wakes up, I'm going to take you again, and I hope you won't resist."
This weekend, Arnold hasn't left El Renacer, and I haven't resisted anything with him. I have until the day of his wedding for him to stay by my side. He's slept in my room these two days.
I've woken up in his arms, and his face looks happier, even his friends have joked with him. In a while, I'll head back to San Antonio. Mr. Roland handed me the keys to a car, you can imagine what it was like, nothing about them was simple.
My mother doesn't agree with what I'm doing, but I asked her not to intervene, it was my last hope. It's been a week and a half, the truth is I don't know if I've won. Arnold has slept with me every night, but he leaves very early, and we haven't talked about his marriage again.
Only that every night before sleeping, he repeats the word "Always" to me many times. Tomorrow, I'm returning to the ranch. My nerves are shot, and my stress was so high that I've vomited several times. I haven't told him anything. The truth is, I haven't heard anything about his wedding being canceled.
If he doesn't, I'll have lost everything, even my dignity, and I swear that after his wedding, I'll leave this country for good. I'll take Mrs. Veronica's help. I need to be prepared, so I took my suitcase and started packing my things.
While I was packing my toiletries, I came across the vial of my birth control, which I hadn't used because I didn't have a boyfriend. I got scared, panicked, and started calculating.
A day late wasn't a delay. I called the pharmacy and ordered several pregnancy tests. Once I calmed down, I started smiling... if I am, he won't be able to get married. There was a knock at the door. I paid the drugstore messenger. With my nerves on edge, I followed the instructions, and the two lines formed on all three tests. "I'm pregnant." I'm pregnant!
"We need to tell your dad."
With a stupid smile I couldn't contain, I finished packing the suitcase and set off for the ranch. I just have to wait for him to come into my room like he did last week. It's important he cancels this farce he's been following.
He can't get married now; we're going to be parents. It hurts me to have broken the promise I made to my mom. I fell asleep and didn't wake up until morning. He didn't come. I didn't care.
I got ready and, with the test result in hand, headed to the main house. Everything was chaos. Inés, though she didn't look her best, appeared busy and elegant... Some people were very dressed up, and my heart began to race. No, no, no. He can't get married. Inés looked at me and then lowered her gaze.
"Daughter, you shouldn't be here," said Mrs. Consuelo, who was standing next to Mr. Fausto, both well-dressed.
"You're getting ready for?" I felt a chill run down my spine.
"Arnold's wedding is being celebrated before noon today." I covered my mouth. I have to stop this.
"Is he here?"
"In his room."
I ran upstairs, not stopping until I burst into his room and saw him, dressed impeccably, like a magazine model.
"Tell me it's not true." He was cold, inflexible, closed off, and sinister.
"What are you doing here, Guadalupe?" He stepped back a little.
"Tell me you won't get married." Everything was shaking. "You and I..."
"We are nothing." Hearing him laugh froze my soul. I started to shake my head. "I never said I was going to cancel my wedding. You were just a fling before becoming a married man."
"Please."
I took his hand and placed the pregnancy test in it. He stared at it. "In your hands, I place myself, God, Virgin of Guadalupe, help me."
"Well, who should I congratulate? Lobo, Rogelio, or Sam?" I opened my mouth. This can't be true. "I'll congratulate Rogelio."
The loud slap I gave him left finger marks, and with the same anger, I hit him again with the back of my hand on the other cheek. My lip was trembling, and Arnold clenched his hands into fists.
"I sincerely wish you the worst in life, that you are never happy, and that as soon as you say 'I do,' you regret it until the day you die. You will never see me again in your damned life!"
I left that room filled with rage, indignation, and feeling completely mocked. When I reached the first floor, Mr. Roland looked at me. He must have seen something because he handed Enrique to his mother and went upstairs. Veronica arrived in jeans and a T-shirt.
"You're not going to the wedding?"
"To that farce? No, I don't agree." I wanted to hug her. "What's wrong, Lupe?"
"I'll accept your help to disappear. But can I ask one more favor?"
"Of course."
She came to my side. The two nannies each had a child, and Mr. Fausto was holding Victoria. The children weren't dressed up either. That lady was undoubtedly very proper.
"Come with me to that wedding. I want to bury him when he says 'I do,' and during the celebration with the mariachis, let me sing a few songs."
"I didn't hear they hired mariachis. But we can solve that by hiring them ourselves. Do you want just me to come with you or the other girls too?"
"Aren't they going?"
"None of them." She smiled.
"I'd like to have them all."
"Perfect, that way that witch realizes she doesn't have any of us."
"Are we declaring war?"
I hadn't realized Gladis was listening too, holding a glass of milk.
"I'll call the girls right away. We need to get ready, and we're not taking the kids. They can stay home with the workers. Roland armed all of them while they celebrated that wedding. Since everyone is supporting their friend and none of us agreed to go, they left us with an army."
"I'm pregnant," I said. "I just told that asshole, and his response was that he was going to congratulate Rogelio."
"I'll help you sing 'Rata de dos patas' by Paquita la del Barrio to that son of a bitch!" Gladis said. Vero looked away and started shaking her head.
"Do you have a dress for the wedding?"
"No... but I have the outfit I'm going to sing in. I'm Mexican, and I'm going to show that jerk how to love God in a foreign land."
"God! We're going to ruin a wedding."
Gladis said, the parents of the employers shook their heads. I'm going to disappear from his life, but first, I'll say goodbye in my own way.
