Chapter 268 - We're With You Friend - mdtres
Roland
I went up to our room. Veronica was just coming out of the bathroom, and our kids were already in their diapers waiting for us to bathe them. Miguel was the fastest driver; he should be here in about twenty minutes. I was about to say I couldn't help when Victoria extended her arms to me with that beautiful smile, and I was knocked out.
"Is something wrong, Honey?"
"I'll tell you in a few days. For now, don't go out, especially with the kids."
"Do you think I'm going to stay with that information?"
"The guys are coming over; they won't take long. I came to help you, and after I talk to them, I'll tell you what I can. Veronica, you won't go out without me or one of the guys. Promise me, Beautiful." I saw her shake her head, not very convinced. "What?"
"I have several appointments for the kids' birthday celebration... and I'm getting back to my veterinary work and need to check out some supplies."
"I'll go with you, as long as it's in Blanco."
"Fine, I see it's serious. Promise you'll tell me tonight, or I'll cut off your services."
"Why do you always threaten me with the same thing? You shouldn't mix that up."
"It's the only thing you wouldn't deprive yourself of, so I have to use it to my advantage." Victoria kept extending her arms, and I covered her ears.
"Don't even think about taking away the sex, Love." I uncovered my daughter's ears. "Now, princess, you couldn't hear what Daddy said."
Veronica laughed as she prepared the girl's bath. We bathed them faster than usual, and she told me she would dress them alone. Miguel and Simon had already arrived. I kissed my kids on the forehead, then gave my wife a playful slap on her behind and kissed her.
"It must be pretty serious for you to act this way. This time you didn't smother them with kisses. Don't worry, I won't expose the kids; we won't leave the ranch."
"That makes me feel better. I love you, Love."
"And I love you, Roland."
I went downstairs, and Carmela was giving my friends coffee. They stood up when they saw me heading to the office.
"Carmela, the guys will have lunch here today. I'll be in the office. When they arrive, send them in!"
"Yes, sir."
"What happened? What was that crap about 'help me surprise my wife for our anniversary'?" I didn't say anything as I pulled out copies of the file Arnold had obtained.
"When everyone gets here, it won't be long. For now, Rata, I need to find a way to isolate the earpiece Arnold has in his ear."
"Perfect. I'll have it in less than a week."
"What have you heard about Lobo?" I sat down.
"Rino has already arrived in Germany. The two apartments are now under the consortium's name, which in turn is under Rino's name. In a couple of days, the installations will be ready. On Lobo's side, it will be a wall.
"On Rino's side, it will be an advanced communication system. It will be activated with Kevin's fingerprint, and the wall will rotate. We just have to wait for Lobo to arrive, and Rino will find a way to explain how everything works."
I laughed. I remembered one of the classes we gave the rookies. Simon and Miguel looked at me, and after a while, as if reading my mind, they also laughed.
"That would be an excellent method, something reserved and respectable," Simon commented, and we all burst out laughing.
"Can you imagine Rino presenting himself that way to the serious Lobo?"
Miguel kept laughing, just imagining that scene. I hope it gets recorded somewhere.
"Let's not say anything. Let's wait and see how Rino handles it, but knowing his playful and resourceful nature, we can expect anything. Remember when he bandaged Rasca's leg during that training? He went as the doctor; he's never been on a direct mission with us."
"He's thrilled about this opportunity," Simon said.
"Remember that from today on, reports will be during the week. Let's not risk the operations in Arnold's presence." Gustavo, Daniel, and Anibal entered. "Well, now we're all here to help our brother."
They sat down, and I took the folders and handed them out to each of them. I gave them time to analyze, watching them read carefully, noticing how their breathing quickened. Simón looked at me, and I nodded. He returned his gaze to the documents.
"Each of our ranches is targeted by a damn missile?" Cebolla commented.
"Do they know where my sisters and mother live, that their neighbors are them?" Rasca culo asked, bewildered.
"They have information on my sister's job, my nephews' school, there are many photos of my wife in this report!" Churrusco looked at me with anger in his eyes.
"It wasn't enough to destroy my house, those bastards know we're living in Blanco," I confirmed in response to Cereza's comment.
"Did Arnold turn himself in to keep us alive?" I looked at my second-in-command.
"Exactly, and I'd bet my balls that all this information was given by Marcela. They didn't just threaten him with Lupe, as you can see in those papers Arnold left in SSCTC for less than two minutes, hoping someone would see them.
"His system log-ins have been intermittent for a week now, not staying long to avoid drawing attention. He's been warning us all this time, which is why he hasn't been coming to the ranches, to avoid compromising our missions and what we're doing behind Nikolay's back. Our brother has submitted himself to save our families."
"What do you plan to do?" Simón asked. I looked at them.
"Turn the tables. He thinks he's playing with the white pieces, but now we'll be the white pieces."
"And how do you plan to do that?" Miguel continued analyzing the papers.
"Play his game."
"Boss, I'm having trouble following your train of thought," Churrusco commented.
"Same here," Cereza added.
"Clarify for us," Rasca culo said.
"He thinks he's going to listen to all our conversations, so we'll talk nonsense. That's why, in a week, Arnold will have some device to isolate sound, so we can talk to him without problems."
"I'll handle that," Rata commented.
"Second, we no longer need Lobo's information to know what it is, what it is, and how to remove the tracker Arnold has in his diaphragm. Our younger brother already provided that information. Now we can proceed.
"We need to talk to Dr. Jones or have Dr. Mendoza come to perform the operation to remove the device without damaging it. This way, we prevent our brother from dying from a lethal electric shock.
"However, he must carry that device everywhere; we can't let Nikolay get out of that state of control he supposedly has. It's important he feels secure."
"I'll handle that with the doctors," Rasca culo commented. "Next Saturday, I'll come with Dr. Mendoza."
"We need to inform Lobo as soon as possible and do the same with him." I looked at Simón.
"Understood, two devices," my second-in-command responded.
"I'll travel to Germany with the doctor who dares to operate on Arnold," Cebolla said.
"I think that'll be Mendoza. I don't want to involve Jones in this, but I'll keep her informed, and she can be the backup for the doctor with Arnold. Plus, Rino will be there.
"We need to finish the operation with the Turks and start with South Korea."
"I'll continue with the trips to Turkey," Cereza said.
"Well, I guess I'll handle the Asians," Churrusco commented. "Boss, in the meantime, it would be best if we stayed at your ranches."
"Totally agree, while yours are being finished, one family at each ranch. I'll tell my mother and father-in-law to come for a few days. If one is on a mission, the other watches over the families in charge." It was the best option, not to be without protection. "While Cebolla travels to Germany, whoever stays at his house will take care of both families. Now, everyone to your..."
