Wedding Day Part 2

Wedding Day Part 2
Alden

“Layla, Princess of Dracos, bearer of the Black Diamond, and the four Kings of Talos – Adrik, Akon, Ashton, and Ayden – you stand here today not merely as individuals, but as the convergence of prophecy, the dawn of a new era.” I looked at Layla, my gaze softening. “Layla, daughter of Edward, whose heart beats with the very essence of creation, you embody the strength of your ancestors and the promise of tomorrow. You have chosen these four formidable dragons to stand by your side, to share your burdens, and to revel in your triumphs.”

I then turned to the brothers, my eyes sparkling with a challenge. “And you, Kings of Talos, whose power shapes mountains and shadows, fire and water, you have chosen Layla. Not merely as your queen, but as your fated mate, the very core of your existence. You have sworn to protect her, to cherish her, to build a future upon her strength.”

Adrik stepped forward. “Layla, from the moment I saw you, I fought it. I fought the pull, the undeniable truth of our bond. I feared the darkness within me, the shadow of my father. But you… You are the light that banishes all shadows. You are my anchor, my queen, my destiny. I promise to protect you with every breath, to love you with every beat of my heart, and to stand by your side, always.”

Akon followed. “Layla, my fiery queen. You ignited a passion in me I didn’t know existed. You are the warmth to my flames, the strength to my fury. I promise you laughter, passion, and a love that burns brighter than any sun. My heart, my fire, my very being, are yours, forever.” Aw, he is so damn cute!

Ashton was next. “Layla, you bring balance to our chaos, stillness to our storms. You see beyond the power to the truth of who we are. I promise you unwavering loyalty, steadfast support, and a love that will move mountains. My earth, my stability, my future, are intertwined with yours.”

Finally, Ayden, his usual playful demeanor replaced by a profound earnestness. “Layla, my beautiful, reckless queen. You make me laugh, you make me challenge everything I thought I knew. You bring out the wildness in my soul. I promise you adventure, joy, and love that flows as freely and deeply as the oceans. My spirit, my humor, my devotion, are yours, always.” I hold in a chuckle. I am going to have to keep an extra eye on them.

Layla’s eyes, glistening with unshed tears, swept over each of them. Then, she turned to me. “Alden, may I speak?”

“Of course, my queen,” I replied.

She faced her mates, her hands reaching out to them. “Adrik, Akon, Ashton, Ayden. My kings. When I found you, I was lost, running from a past I didn’t understand. You opened your kingdom, and then your hearts, to me. You are the shadows that protect, the fires that cleanse, the earth that grounds, and the waters that soothe. You are my strength, my joy, my every desire. My heart, my magic, and my future are irrevocably bound to yours. I choose you. All of you. Now and forever.”  I am so proud of her right now. She is becoming the woman I saw when I first met her.

A collective sigh rippled through the hall, a sound of pure contentment. I felt Layla’s emotions, a torrent of love and unwavering commitment, wash over me. It was truly a magnificent thing to behold. “Now,” I announced, “the binding of souls. Layla, Adrik, Akon, Ashton, Ayden, place your hands upon the diamond altar.”

They did so, their hands intertwining, forming a circle of power. The black diamond began to pulse with a steady, rhythmic beat, its light intensifying, mirroring the ethereal glow of the altar. The air crackled, a zap of raw magic, as their combined energies began to merge. “By the ancient laws of the Dragon Lords, by the power of the elements, by the unbreakable bonds of fate and true mate, I bind your souls as one,” I intoned, my voice rising in power, resonating with the ancient magic I had cultivated over millennia. “May your paths be entwined, your hearts united, your spirits forever bound.”

A blinding flash of light erupted from the altar, a silent whoosh of pure energy that momentarily eclipsed the floating orbs and woven starlight. A deep, resonant boom echoed through the hall, a sound that vibrated deep within our bones, a celestial affirmation. When the light faded, the five of them stood there, shimmering, their eyes glowing with an intensified inner light. A golden aura, faint but undeniable, pulsed around them, a testament to their newly forged bond.

The assembled guests erupted in a roar of applause, a collective cheer that shook the very foundations of the hall. “Huzzah!” “Long live the Queen!” “Long live the Kings!”

I felt a wave of profound satisfaction. My odd pull to Layla, which had intensified throughout the ceremony, now settled into a deep, comforting hum. It wasn't just her joy I felt, but the collective joy of all five of them, a symphony of happiness. “You may now…” I began, a mischievous glint in my eye, “seal your vows.” I will enjoy feeling this.

Adrik was the first. He cupped Layla’s face, his thumb stroking her cheek, then lowered his head, his lips meeting hers in a deep, possessive kiss that sent a ripple of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ through the crowd. Akon, Ashton, and Ayden each took their turn, their kisses ranging from Akon’s fiery passion to Ashton’s tender reverence, and Ayden’s playful yet profound devotion.

When they were done, Layla, flushed and beaming, let out a soft, joyous giggle. The brothers, looking utterly besotted, gathered around her, their hands possessively on her waist, her back, her shoulder. “And now,” I declared, spreading my arms wide, my crimson robe swirling around me, “let the celebration begin! Let the feasting commence, let the music soar, and let the laughter echo through these halls!”

A cheer ripped through the crowd once more. Musicians, hidden until now, began to play, a symphony of ethereal strings and booming drums. Servants, moving like silent shadows, brought forth platters laden with exotic delicacies and goblets overflowing with sparkling nectar.

I watched them, my queen and her kings, surrounded by their people, their faces radiant with happiness. The black diamond pulsed, a steady, powerful heartbeat. The visions of Asher, of the war to come, still flickered at the edges of my mind, but for now, they were distant. For now, there was only this moment – a moment of pure, unadulterated joy.

I felt a pang, a familiar, bittersweet ache in my ancient heart. This love, this profound, elemental connection… it was a beautiful, terrifying thing. And I was merely a witness, a guide, a protector. My role was to ensure this precious, hidden sacred flame, this new dawn, was safeguarded. And as the laughter swelled around me, a deep, satisfied hum resonated within my chest. My queen was wed. And the future, whatever it held, was now irrevocably bound.
