Chapter ninety-two
“Boss…” Zino was saying.

“Where the hell were you when this happened? You were supposed to be her shadow while I was away!” was the first thing Hunter asked angrily the moment Zino approached him as he stepped down from the jet.

His voice was sharp… sharp enough to slice through metal.

Zino bowed his head immediately. “I’m sorry, boss. Before I could do anything… they drove off”

Hunter clenched his jaw so hard a vein jumped at the side of his cheek. His chest rose and fell in a heavy, furious rhythm. He wanted to scream. He wanted to hit something. He wanted blood. But he forced himself to take a long breath.

Hunter sucked on a deep breath. He needed to calm down. This wasn't the time to blame his man. He knew Zino. Zino was one of his most capable and trusted men. And the kidnappers must have bypassed him somehow to be able to completely carry out their operation before he could notice them.

The most important thing now is to find Mirabella.

He ran both hands through his hair, his voice a little lower. “Tell me what happened. Every single thing. Now”

Zino swallowed hard. “She was at her friend’s… Hilda’s house. When she came out alone, she drove to the mall. Everything was normal. She finished shopping, boss. Everything was fine until…”

He paused and rubbed his face roughly.

“Say it” Hunter barked.

“A man asked me to help him lift something heavy into his car trunk. I didn’t think much of it. The minute I helped him and went back to watching… they were already forcing her into a car. Before I could reach them, they had already zoomed off” Zino squeezed his hands together tightly. “The man I helped was gone too. I tried following them, but I lost them”

He buried his hand in his hair in frustration. “Shit… that was clearly a distraction” he muttered.

By now, Hunter's blood was already boiling with anger. But he would stay calm. It would be a disaster if he loses his shit now.

Zino continued, bitterly, “I failed you. I failed her too”

Hunter’s voice dropped into a deadly calm. “This isn’t on you. They planned it. They fucking planned it. And they succeeded.” He stepped closer to Zino, eyes burning. “But we’re getting her back. Alive”

Zino nodded quickly, relief flashing in his eyes.

Hunter turned sharply. “Let’s go to that mall. We need to find out who is responsible. The bastard who pulled this stunt should be ready for what’s coming his way”

Victor arrived seconds later, phone in hand. “I just spoke to Gabriel. He’s working to trace her phone location. Let’s go!”

The men hurried out of the airport. Four black cars were already lined up, engines humming low and ready for the taste ahead.

Hunter didn’t even wait for his door to be opened. He yanked it and climbed into the backseat, his heart hammering painfully. Victor slid in beside him. Marcus and Zino jumped into the other cars.

“Move!” Hunter commanded.

Tally sat in front of the large screen, fingers moving quickly. Several camera footage from different angles played at once… entrances, hallways, exits, parking lots.

Hunter paced behind him like a caged predator.

Tally suddenly zoomed into a particular footage.

“Fuck me…” he whispered. “Isn’t that Kai? That’s Kai… one of Geret’s boys.”

He zoomed again and spotted another face.

“Venum… shit.”

Victor looked and cursed under his breath. “Fucking hell”

Marcus shook his head in disbelief. “I never knew Geret would be this reckless. He’s been coming at you for years, but kidnapping your woman? I never thought he’d be stupid enough to try this route”

Hunter’s eyes flashed dangerously. “He wants to get back at me for fucking his woman” he muttered, voice dripping with venom.

The anger inside him was boiling uncontrollably. He felt it rise so sharply his fingertips trembled.

The fucker!

Geret had better not hurt her. Better not touch even a strand of her hair.

Fuck what if he forces himself on her….

Rage slammed into him so hard he had to grip the edge of the table.

Victor quickly stepped forward. “Devil, we’ll find her…”

Hunter cut him off. “Let’s get moving.”

Just as they turned, Hunter’s phone beeped.

He froze. Slowly, he lifted the phone and tapped the screen.

A video opened.

And the world around him disappeared.

It was Mirabella.

His Mirabella.

Chained to a bed.

She was unconscious.

Her legs were pulled apart and chained wide open, her ankles cuffed. Her two wrists were bound together above her head and tied to the iron headboard.

She was still wearing her tight black jeans and a black top… but even fully clothed, she looked painfully vulnerable.

Hunter’s vision blurred for a second. His lungs squeezed. Something inside him cracked.

The camera shifted and Geret’s face came into view.

A wide, sick smile covered his lips.

“Did you see that?” Geret said. “I’m just waiting for her to wake up. Then I’ll do whatever I want. I mean, I could do it now… but where’s the fun if she isn’t screaming and begging?”

He laughed high and loud.

Then the video ended.

Hunter’s hand shook.

He threw the phone against the wall. It shattered into pieces.

“FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!” His roar was raw, animalistic.

Everyone in the room froze

For the first time in Hunter’s entire life… fear clawed at his heart. Real fear.

Fear of what she must have gone through.

Fear of what Geret had already done.

Fear of what he was about to do.

His chest felt like it was being ripped open.

Hunter grabbed the edge of the table again, knuckles white. “What the hell has Gabriel found?” he growled, voice shaking.

Victor stepped closer quickly, phone in hand. “Geret’s current location has been traced”

Hunter’s head snapped up. “Where?”

Victor read directly from his device. “One of his warehouses in Crimson mountain. It’s an hour away.”

The words were still in the air before Hunter shoved past everyone and stormed out.

Zino and Marcus were already running behind him.

The engines roared.

The convoy tore out of the mall at full speed.

Hunter leaned forward, elbows on his knees, hands clasped tightly.

The night deepened as they drove.

But Hunter didn’t blink. Not once. His eyes were fixed ahead, sharp and red with fury.
