Four.

Four.
"So, I take it you are moving back to the resort?" Kalvin asked some time later that evening.

Colt's two eldest brothers had returned home with their wives to relieve their baby sitters. Leaving the new arrivals with the company of their parents, little brother Lewis, Mark, Paul and their youngest son who had awoken during the celebrations, and upon seeing his aunt when he ventured downstairs to see what all the fuss was about, then refused to leave her side.

Jonny was now curled up in Colt's arms, proud as punch about being the first in their cousin pack to know about the newest arrival.

The lad had fallen asleep about half an hour ago, but Calum suspected his wife was enjoying her snuggles a bit to much to suggest to her brother to put him back to bed. He was only four, and quite clearly had missed his auntie since their wedding, despite her weekly video chats with him.

"We are headed there tomorrow, Dad," Colt answered softly, "But, we were thinking, depending on the logistics that is, of possibly staying with you guys for a bit?"

Lewis' audible groan was cut short by his mother's hiss. Isla's eyes had doubled in size, with a glee that made everyone else laugh.

"Really?" She asked her daughter cautiously, failing to contain her excitement.

"Yes, Mom." Colt smiled, "We are thinking about doing some alterations to the cottage. So, we want to evaluate it first, and apparently now I'm pregnant, I'm classified as useless in any physical renovations capacity, by this one here," she rolled her eyes nodding at Calum. "Thus, I am not allowed to even breathe in the air of the cottage while he adds his touch."

Calum sighed, "Woman, that's not fair, and you know it!"

All eyes turned to the clearly exasperated wildcat.

"While we were packing, Colt's placenta tore. The doctors put it down to a combination of stress and doing too much. The baby is fine as is Colt, but it's not worth the risk of her being tempted, if we stay there while working. She will only push to hard to get it done as soon as possible." He explained.

Colt's eyes narrowed in on her husband, and if it weren't for the sleeping boy in her arms she would have been much more vocal in expressing her ire at him worrying her family needlessly. As it was, she simply shuffled her body away from his touch, being careful to cradle Jonny's sleeping head as she moved.

"Oh, come on, Love. You know I'm right." Calum pleaded, he almost preferred when her mood swings caused an explosion of temper.

"Princess?" Kalvin asked, looking for confirmation.

"I'm fine, and the baby is fine. It's nothing to worry on now, I just have to be careful. Which I am being." Colt answered, feeling annoyed at having to justify herself.

"Sweetie, you must have been so scared," Isla commented moving to sit on Colt's other side.

Colt nodded her head before giving in and leaning her head down on her Mom's shoulder.

"Hey, Paul?" Calum began, "I know Colt won't say a word because she is in Auntie mode. But her hips have been playing up with ligament pains and she doesn't normally stay in one position for too long like this..."

"Gotcha," Paul answered, standing fluidly, "Time to get this munchkin into bed anyway."

Colt nodded her thanks to her brother in law, as he scooped up his sleeping son, carrying the boy with ease back to bed.

"I am quite capable of speaking for myself, Calum." Colt barked out, once Jonny was clear of the room.

"Not when it comes to the children you aren't," Mark intervened, "And you know it! You spoil every single niece and nephew you have, Colt, and now we will no doubt have a tantrum in the morning to deal with, when Jonny realises you're gone."

"It's not my fault I'm his favourite aunt! Would you rather I just ignored him, because if so, good luck on me complying!" Colt hissed out, her eyes welling up as her hormones began to take over.

Calum automatically reached over to his wife, "No one was suggesting that, Love," he began gently.

But, Colt simply shrugged and pulled away, "Don't you dare, I'm still annoyed at you trying to panic everyone." She snapped, feeling very cold and alone all of a sudden.

Everyone looked on in concern, except for Kalvin. He was too busy trying not to laugh at his hormonal daughter giving his son in law the run around. The only thing stopping him was the confidence he had in the knowledge that if he did laugh, his wife would make him seriously pay for it later.

"Sweetheart," Isla began, lifting her arms and pulling Colt into a hug, "We are on your side. Mark should have chosen his words better, no one is suggesting you ignore the children," she consoled Colt, rubbing her hand down her daughter's hair. "And, Calum only has your and your daughter's best interests at heart, and you know that right?"

Colt began crying quietly, as Isla nodded to Calum. He reached out and pulled his mate back towards himself.

This time she went willingly.

"I don't know what's wrong with me," she whimpered, clinging onto Calum like he was a lifeline.

"You're just a complete crackpot, Love," Calum joked, making Colt snigger slightly, despite Isla's annoyed glare. "My crackpot though, and I think it's time we head back for the night to the hotel, get Cranky Pants here some sleep."

"Calum..." Isla began in warning, but was interrupted by her mate.

"He is fine, Beautiful." Kalvin stated, "And for the record, we would love to have you. Plus it will give us some time to work out the extra security details to put on the resort when you go home. Not only where Mr. Lupus is concerned, but with the rising threats from these letters, that Rebecca has reported, I think it's best to be safe."

"They've escalated their threats?" Colt asked, her crying forgotten.

"Yes, they aren't happy about humans and shifters co-existing in peace, but as yet are being vague with their threats. We are still trying to trace the sender, but the letters are all hand delivered, and carry no strange scents. I'm starting to think there may be someone working on the inside." Kalvin explained.

Colt tensed against Calum's side.

"I think that's enough for tonight," Calum stated. "We can discuss it more tomorrow."

"Calum, it's fine," Colt said, looking up at him, "I need to know what's going on."

"Aye, but not tonight." He pushed back, "Tonight, you need to get some rest."
