Chapter 86
It had been months since Liam’s extravagant birthday celebration, and Serena couldn’t contain her excitement any longer. She had been bursting at the seams with joy ever since she found out the news, and she knew she had to share it with her best friend. After all, Victoria had been there for Serena through every step of her journey to motherhood, and she was thrilled to share this special moment with her.
Serena knocked on Victoria’s door, her heart racing with anticipation. Victoria opened the door with a smile, her eyes lighting up as she saw Serena standing there, beaming with happiness. Without saying a word, Serena pulled Victoria into a tight hug, tears of joy streaming down her face.
“What’s going on, Serena? Why are you crying?” Victoria asked, concerned.
Through tears of happiness, Serena finally managed to choke out the words, “I’m pregnant, Vicky. Ethan and I are expecting our second child.”
Victoria gasped in delight, pulling Serena into another hug. “Oh my goodness, Serena! I am so happy for you! This is amazing news!”
As they sat down on the couch, Serena began to recount the journey she and Ethan had been on to get to this point. She told her that they had to keep it a secret just incase it didn't work, they didn't want to disappoint their friends and to force them to console them if the treatment didn't work.
While they were eternally grateful for the beautiful gift of Liam, Serena had always longed to experience the joy of carrying her own child. She had undergone surgery to repair a tear in her womb, and after countless visits to the fertility specialist, she had finally received the news that she was healthy enough to carry a pregnancy to term.
“I can’t believe it, Vicky. I’m going to be able to carry our baby, to feel them growing inside me. It’s a dream come true,” Serena said, her eyes shining with happiness.
Victoria wiped away a tear, her heart swelling with love and joy for her best friend. “Serena, I am so incredibly happy for you. You deserve this more than anyone. I can’t wait to meet your precious baby.”
Now, as Serena stood in front of Victoria, her hand resting on her small belly, Victoria couldn’t help but feel a surge of happiness and excitement for her friend. Serena was pregnant with her second child, but this time she was carrying the child herself, the joy radiated from her as she shared the spoke with Victoria.
“I am so happy for you,” Victoria said, her eyes shining with tears of joy. “You are going to be a great mother. You are already a wonderful mother to Liam.”
Serena smiled, her eyes sparkling with joy. “Thank you, Victoria. Your support means the world to me.”
As they shared a warm hug, Victoria couldn’t help but think back to the turmoil they had faced in the past. The betrayal by Anna had shaken their friendship to its core, but Serena had been the rock that had held them together. She had stood by Victoria’s side, offering her unwavering support and love during one of the darkest times in their lives.
While they sat down on the couch, sipping on cups of latte and tea for Serena, Victoria felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. “I am also thankful to you for helping my children heal from their fake aunt’s betrayal. Your kindness and compassion have made all the difference in their lives.”
Serena put her index finger on Victoria’s lips and said, “shhh, let’s not talk about that woman anymore. Thinking about her makes my blood boil.”
Victoria let out a chuckle, grateful for the distraction. They spent the rest of the evening reminiscing about happier times, laughing and sharing stories from their past. As the night wore on, Serena’s pregnancy became the focal point of their conversation, and Victoria couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement for her friend’s new journey into motherhood.
As they chatted away, the hours seemed to fly by unnoticed.
It wasn’t until they heard a car pull up outside that they realized how late it had gotten. Serena’s face flushed with embarrassment as she looked at the clock on the wall. “Oh my goodness, Ethan must have been waiting for me for hours!” she exclaimed.
Victoria chuckled and stood up to open the door for Ethan. He walked in with a smile on his face, his eyes lighting up when he saw Serena. “Hey, beautiful,” he said, pulling her into a tight hug.
Victoria couldn’t help but notice the glow on Serena’s face, the happiness that seemed to radiate from her. “Congratulations, Ethan,” she said, patting him on the back. “I’m so happy for you both.
Ethan grinned proudly. “Thank you, Victoria. “We can’t wait to meet our little one.”
Ethan looked at Victoria with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “You do know that you and Christian are going to be godparents again, right?” he teased. “You’re practically family already.”
Victoria laughed and shook her head. “I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she said, hugging Ethan tightly. “We’re honored to be a part of your lives.”
Just then, Christian walked down the stairs, a smile on his face when he saw his friend. “I didn't know that you’re here too, thank goodness your wife has taken over my wife.
They all laughed.
How about we all have dinner together?” Victoria suddenly said.
Serena’s eyes lit up with delight. “That sounds wonderful, thank you,” she replied, looking at Ethan for confirmation. He nodded in agreement, his hand resting on her belly that was not even showing yet.
Christian led the way to the dining room, pulling out a chair for Victoria before seating Serena and Ethan across from them. The table was set with elegant dinnerware, and the soft glow of candles added a romantic ambiance to the room.
As they enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Christian who had practically turned into a house husband, the conversation flowed effortlessly between them.
Victoria couldn’t help but notice the way Ethan looked at Serena with so much love and adoration, the gentle caresses he placed on her belly as they spoke about their baby. It warmed her heart to see her friends so happy and in love.
After dinner, Christian suggested they move back to the living room for dessert. He had prepared a decadent chocolate cake that he knew would be a hit with everyone. As they indulged in the sweet treat they talked about their hopes and dreams for the future, sharing stories and laughter late into the night.
Victoria couldn’t contain her joy as she watched the couple talk about their future together, the way their eyes sparkled with anticipation. She knew that their love would only grow stronger with the arrival of their little one.
When the night came to an end, Ethan stood up to take Serena home. Christian and Victoria hugged them tight, promising to always be there for them whenever they needed support or guidance.
As they walked out the door, Serena turned to look back at her friends with a smile. “Thank you for everything,” she said, tears glistening in her eyes. “We’re so grateful to have you in our lives.”
Victoria waved goodbye, her heart full of love and happiness for the expectant couple. She knew that their bond would only deepen with time, as they welcomed a new chapter in their lives filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
After seeing off Serena and Ethan, Christian couldn’t resist the urge to pick up his wife and carry her bridal-style to their bedroom. Victoria giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling like a princess being swept off her feet by her dashing prince.
Once inside their bedroom, Christian gently laid Victoria down on their soft, floral-printed bed. He leaned in to kiss her tenderly, his love for her shining in his eyes. Victoria smiled up at him, feeling overwhelmed with emotion at how lucky she was to have him as her husband.
The kiss was filled with passion and tenderness, a perfect reflection of the love they shared. Victoria wrapped her arms around him, pulling him closer as they lost themselves in each other’s embrace.
“Let's make love” Victoria suddenly said.
What she said caught Christian off guard, he froze. He knew he had gone overboard.
