CHAPTER EIGHTY SEVEN

CHAPTER EIGHTY SEVEN
Luther's Pov

"Have you asked Otto?" Stanley got down from his horse, we were in the woods again, hanging out. I found a meaning since he arrived. I could now say it was the right time to change the circle of leaders around me. I didn't want my father's pack any longer. I needed a youthful presence, so that the kingdom affairs could pick up.

"I do not wish to traumatize him with the experience." I patted my horse's back and kicked the dry leaves on the floor. "Losing my father, witnessing the fight with my brothers, losing his daughter. Otto is too traumatized to be fed with that traumatic information again."

"So what do you intend on doing?"

"I would figure it out myself."

"He knew too much about your father. He would be the best person to answer all. your questions."

Breath escaped my nose. "You're right. I will ask him some questions to narrow it all down."

"And what are you going to do when the truth comes out?"

"Teach them a lesson."

"If they are already dead?"

"Their children shall suffer for it." My teeth clenched against each other. "My suspicions are the pack leaders. One of them must have been involved in all of these. And if I am on the throne now, they would be doing everything to get rid of me, because it was not their wish to see me back and alive."

Smoke came out of Stanley's mouth and nostrils as his lips held the tobacco. "I asked around…about the murderer girl"

My eyes rolled toward his direction, my nose flared and I chewed my teeth. As he spoke.

"I didn't find her in the castle."

"What business do you have looking for her?"

"I think she shouldn't only be punished, but she could be of help room. If her services are that great, she should spread that kindness" he smiled wryly. "One of my legs isn't at great, I was hoping to see her take care of it."

"Are you still insinuating that she is a healer?" The words came out with great force. "A mere maid, born of poverty!"

"I wasn't saying…"

"It only means you do not believe that I have the capabilities to heal myself and you are suspicious of another force helping me"

His laugh was short. "I didn't say so, Luther."

"All healers are dead. My father got rid of them till the last bloodline so they would not multiply. All. Wolves can heal…"

"Not all sickness…"

"Sickness is a part of nature. The healers were too proud and flaunted their abilities to make a jest of wolves. They had to die"

"Didn't you think they also needed the ability since it takes forever for them to shift into wolves?"

"Their pride is what my father got rid of. If he hadn't, the kingdom would have been overthrown."

I breathed out with force. "If you need your legs treated, see the physician. Do not speak about healers in this kingdom anymore because they do not exist. Their kingdom is very far from here and no royal blood with that ability is alive."

"I was just saying…"

"Keep it to yourself."

"You seem aggravated. Be calm, King Luther" he joked, walking toward me and patting me on the back. "With this anger, you would be as bad as your father to your child"

"My father was not bad."

"Because you were his favorite child."

"He didn't have favorites. I was worthy."

A long laugh escaped from Stanley's mouth as he continued patting my back. "If you say so," he said. "Just be a good father to your child"

My eyes rolled when he mentioned my child. I didn't think it would be so soon that I would be called a father.

"If you follow in your father's direction, are you thinking of having a concubine too or Odessa is that woman you've dreamt of since we were children"

No was the answer to both questions, but then my mind swiftly went to Delora and the truth that she was pregnant. Our moments at the North flashed back in my head. Did the farm boy and the other guards she was sleeping with treat her as good as I did?

Why has she decided to keep the child? Was it to make me jealous because I wasn't?

I couldn't stop thinking about her as Stanley and I headed home, she was beautiful in and out, her body was mesmerizing. She bewitched me, I was certain. How could I have lost my guard with her? She seemed humble but she was a tough player who wanted things only her way.

I wished I could teach her lessons in my own way, with my manhood buried deep inside her, scolding the slave murderer, but that was exactly what she wanted and I would only fall in her trap if I did that.

As I got to the palace, I headed straight to the study room. After searching thoroughly I found my father's death record. I took a seat and began reading all the details of his life before his death and how he died. I went over and over it but it still did t appeal well to me.

I immediately sent for the doctor who had him treated and also sent for the group of people who buried him. When that was done, I went behind the palace where royalty were buried. I used as my eyes darted toward the names on the grave stones. My father, mother, and all my brothers all turned to dust. I was the only person from my bloodline.

I hope my parents were watching me and feeling very proud. But I hope my brothers were burning in the deepest part of hell.

When I had had enough reminiscing, I went back into the room to have a good rest, but not yet again, the very image I didn't want kept appearing in my imagination. She was out of the palace, but I still felt her here.
