Chapter 39

I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face. The night started a little rocky, but watching Dario live his best life dancing on that dance floor will be a memory I’ll look back on and laugh for the rest of my life. He was perfect even with his awkward dance moves. The way he smiled and laughed made me believe he hadn’t enjoyed himself in a long time. And I was so grateful I was able to see him in such a rare form.

Seeing Dario with his guard down and having fun made my crush bloom into a whole ass “like.” As Keegan and I were dragging him from the elevator to his apartment last night, he kept telling us how pretty I was. It was so pure and genuine. Keegan kept giving me knowing glances and I kept telling her to shut up between laughs. While we helped Dario get out of his suit so he could sleep more comfortably, I couldn’t help stealing glances of his chiseled body. He had a literal 8-pack of abs, I counted. I also might have even grazed his cock to gauge the size as I tugged his pants off… I couldn’t help it, ok? I had a lot to drink too.

I jumped out of bed and immediately went to wash off last night's makeup and brush my teeth. I felt like I was in a hurry when I got in the shower to only clean my body. I ran into my closet to throw on a pair of olive green yoga pants and the matching sports bra, with an oversized cream colored button up shirt I left unbuttoned. I practically jogged to my living room to fetch the keys to my Jeep and I was out of that apartment, making my way to the garage, at nearly top speed.

My sense of urgency transferred to the Jeep when I noticed myself speeding in and out of traffic. Why was I in such a hurry? I honestly didn’t want to go another second without Dario in my presence, but I wanted to make sure I had an offering for him. I felt guilty he drank as much as he did.

I pulled my Jeep into the starbees drive thru, I ordered two coffees and one loaded breakfast sandwich. The coffee shop humbled me when they asked me to wait a few more minutes for the sandwich. I could feel my hands shake with impatience, but I stayed nice and cool with the request and moved out of the way for the other patrons to receive their orders. I took the opportunity to take a few deep breaths and calm myself down.

By the time a sweet girl tapped on my window with my sandwich in her hand, I was serene. I took the paper bag and smiled at the girl and made sure she got back into the coffee shop safely before I pulled out of the parking lot. I obeyed all traffic laws and kept my Jeep at the proper speed on my way back to the apartment.

When I arrived at Dario’s door, I started to get nervous. I’ve been around people I’ve *liked* before, why did Dario elicit this response? It seemed like a whole millennia before he swung open the door. He weakly smiled when he saw me and I knew the tequila was winning. I held up breakfast and he opened the door wider, inviting me in.

Once inside, he grabbed one coffee and the paper bag and we took our seats on the couch. I tried not to sit too close but our knees touched as I watched Dario devour his breakfast sandwich and suck down his coffee. He was a complete masterpiece. I tried not to sound desperate when I asked,

“What do you have planned today?”

Dario seemed like he was almost put back together when he looked up and into my eyes. Between the mid morning sun blasting through the huge windows and his statue of mind, his eyes were a stunning silver color. He was beautiful. He said in a groggy voice,

“Ambrosio mentioned he wanted me to stop by your aunt’s house, see if she needs anything.”

His morning voice was sexy and I couldn’t help but imagine what else the mornings blessed this man with. I bit my lip at the thought of a hard Dario and he asked,

“Ti pernáei apó to myaló sou, psychí mou?”

*“What is going through your mind, my soul?”*

I froze. Dario’s chosen term of endearment proved he *liked* me too. You only called your spouses or children “psychí mou.” I wanted to kiss him. I wanted more than that, I wanted all of him. Dario’s eyes widened and he said,

“Damn Hera! What are you thinking!?”

I was embarrassed. Could he read my mind? I tried to keep my eyes from shooting wide open when I asked,

“What? I didn’t even say anything.”

Dario let out a low laugh as he gathered his empty coffee cup and sandwich wrapper and rose from the couch and said,

“Your eyes tell me everything, Hera.”

When he returned next to me on the couch after throwing his garbage away, he asked,

“Are you going to tell me what you were thinking just now?”

I was too stunned to speak. How did my eyes tell him *anything*? I worked very hard for a very long time to control my emotions, *especially* my face. I always kept a cool, unbothered expression. How was he the only one to see through it?

Dario rested his hand on my thigh as he leaned in close, his full lips coming closer and closer to me. My breathing slowed, arousal started flooding my body, he kept coming closer. His touch sent a moan to my throat and I swallowed it before I made a sound. Dario reached my ear and whispered,

“The last time your eyes did that, you were asking me how I wanted you.”

I bit my lip when I remembered last night, we were alone in my room, and he grabbed me by the hand. I remember being cross faded and wishing Dario would’ve taken me on the bed. I instictly gripped the couch and realized I was not in control. I slid over away from Dario and took a deep breath. I saw him smile out of the corner of my eye. He rose from the couch and said,

“Páo na káno éna ntous. Boreís na me pas sto spíti tis theías sou, nai?”

“I’m going to go take a shower. You can take me to your aunt’s house, yes?”

I weakly nodded my head, I was just clearing my arousal and now he announced he’ll be naked in the next room. Perfect.
