Chapter 51: Layla Not My Sister
I would rather prefer to have a a vampire to claim and f*CK me as much as he would than
taking shelter at Layla's place, whom I thought I knew her true nature but was mistaken about that.
Suddenly, the door opened, and the man I had just called came to my aid. I quickly hugged myself, covering my nakedness.
Michael!
I cried.. Not because of fear, but because of joy. I wanted to run up to him and hug him, but I didn't have any reason to, so I was content to hug myself.
"Fuck!" Layla angrily yelled and pulled out a gun, but Michael's sword was already pointed at her.
"The last time I checked, I beat you up and gave you a few days to mourn the loss of your businesses. But now it's time for me to charge. Blood against blood." Michael curled int a wicked smile dangerously.
Layla smirked and fired a gun at Michael and I
covered my ears. Michael immediately avoided and pulled a swap of his sword on Layla and chopped off his hand. Layla screamed out in
agony, he then took the gun she held. I felt sorry for her, but it didn't take away my rage and disgust for her.
"Business and money are replaceable; but life is not." Michael was about to pull the trigger on the gun when I intervened.
I bursted out crying. "Michael, no!" I exclaimed, not wanting his hand to be tainted. I couldn't bear the thoughtof him killing. I was able to understand everything that had happened.
"Even if you offer your life to stop this woman, Anya, nothing can stop me now from killing her,"
I stared at him, unable to understand the meaning of the emotions in his eyes.
"The game is over," he declared emphatically. He was Surrounded by dark auras.
"You are not the law, Michael!" I exclaimed
emphatically as tears streamed down my cheeks.
"You're right, I'm not the law, but if you don't leave your body, I'l shoot you along with her."
For the first time, I noticed veins emerging from
His neck and sharpening his eyes. While I
couldn't understand what the monster said. I wanted to laugh in Sorrow; after all, who said Michael was going to save me?
I simply did not want to see someone killed in front of me.
It was as if my heart was splintered with pain. Why was I in so much pain? I knew I wasn't important to Michael here, but why was the man in front of me? Was it because of Layla? When I heard a loud gunshot, I closed my eyes and quickly covered my ears. I was almost deaf. I felt my body and felt no pain, but when I opened my eyes, Michael's right shoulder had been
shot.
Layla shot him, which gripped me to her body and turned me into a shield. Her gun was pointed at Michael's head, and I couldn't get away with it. While Michael rubbed his right shoulder and looked at me with a sour expression.
"Michael, one move and you'll die," Layla threatened.
"l can kill you even if you hide behind the needle, bastard!" The monster said without fear. As if his wounds didn't matter to him.
Layla's brows furrowed in response to what ahe heard, and she tightened her grip to me even more. Her swollen and bleeding hand was squeezing me. It appeared to be used to pain
because she simply ignored the wound. As I did so, I became overwhelmed because I couldn't breathe properly because I almost had my own breasts exposed. I wrapped my arms around myself.
"Yes, I am a sucker. Michael bastard. Your father refused to accept me! Are you surprised? You
don't remember, do you?"
I shut my eyes. What was going on became so
confusing? I was no longer able to comprehend
everything.
Please, God, tell me I'm dreaming right now. Kindly tell
me...
Even if I would shake my head, I was in the presence of two high-ranking and powerful names in the field of finance and business.
"My bastard brother has been dead for a long time," Michael continued, "and I know it wasn't you."
Layla cracked a grin. The determination to kill Michael with her gun could be seen in her eyes. "But why is she standing in front of you right now? I'm sure you won't recognize me. Remember when my mother and l came
to your house when I was eight years old? My mother was ill, and we'd like to ask for some assistance. Your father threw us out, and your mother slapped my mother with money. You were present at the time. You didn't do
anything. You simply turned around as if nothing had happened. My mother passed away. I became a nomad. I was adopted by a family of drug lords. Dressed. I was
taught all of the bad deeds, and when my foster parents died, I inherited their wealth, allowing me to keep up with all of your business. Don't be concerned; I'l take
everything you own. Of course, I put down the two most important to you first." Layla laughed at the same time, pleased with Michael's rage.
I felt like my heart had been stabbed. I felt pity even though Michael never told me about the real family he came from.
Michael smiled without emotion, "You want me to welcome you with my bullets, sister?" sarcasm was on his tune.
"Yeah, after all, I've already avenged, and 'll bring you to them. It feels good to have killed your mother and taken away your fiancée. l'll miss you, bro." Layla smiled and pulled the trigger, but I drew her hand away, causing
the bullet to hit somewhere.
"Layla, please... stop this," I begged the lady, but I was taken back when a bullet struck her shoulder, causing her to scream in pain.
"Michael, don't!" I cried loudly. I didn't want to see anyone die in front of me. I couldn't bear the thought of two blood relatives murdering each other.
I rushed to help Layla while crying in front of Michael. Layla had been thoughtful since she became my sister. That's all there was to it; the gurl was a murderer, but there was a law that would punish her. So, even thoughi was angry and disgusted with her, I felt pity on the other side of my brain. I saw Layla was hurt and
was about to shoot Michael when I decided to
intervene.
"Noooo!"
"Anya!!!"
My world came to a halt, and my heart began to race. I collapsed before I could even realize what had happened. Why? Why did Michael act in that manner? Why? I had a lot of questions, but they all faded away with the darkness.
I was in tears when I realized I was back in the
room from which I had escaped. I was on Michael's island, and I couldn't stop sobbing.
Kindly guide me, Dad! I'm confused.
In my dream, I saw Layla's body collapsed and bathed in her own blood. She had been struck in the forehead, and her eyes were wide open. Hit the target! It was centered on the girl's brow.
Michael had killed her in front of my eyes. For the love of God! Despite the fact that the two are a brother and a sister, the man managed to kill his half sister out of rage.
Dad, I know justice was served in your absence, but my heart feels empty and heavy. There's something missing! Dad, you've left.. Layla, on whom I once relied, is also no longer with me. You're no where; you've left me. I'm by myself now.
"I'm glad you've finally woken up." Michael entered from the outside. There was no emotion in his eyes.
What would he do to me now that he had avenged his loved one's death? I wiped my tears away and squeezed the side of the bed.
"I'd like. l'd like to know where my Gregory's grave is." I was forced to look up and meet his cold eyes because it did not respond. I couldn't read his response, but he nodded in agreement. "H-how did you manage to kill Layla right in front of me? How did you manage to take
the life of a woman who should have died in prison? He's your half-sister!"
"Don't doubt my abilities. l can buy a soul and murder it right in front of your eyes." He turned around and walked away.
I bited my lower lip so hard to keep the tears at bay. What he said had hurt me. Cuhen had become ruthless...
