We were both in bed in the middle of the night with three pillows between us, and I think he's starting to become irritated with that. However, he was unable to stop me since he knew that once he took them off, I would fall asleep on the floor.
He seemed intrigued; even if he couldn't see me, I know he suffered. "Blair, it's not that I'm going to eat you." Not wanting to see his face, I'm sideways with my back to him. It happens seldom for me to run out of breath whenever I face him, and I'm avoiding it.
"Stay where you are, Raven!" There was a threat in my voice; that's why he didn't speak again, but I could hear him moan out of frustration. I just stared at the void. This man is driving me crazy.
After a few hours, repeatedly forcing myself to close my eyes, I was still staring blankly and had no idea what to do. But in the end, I wondered, what will happen to us?
He asked me a couple of seconds, "Are you up?" I was still wondering if I should pretend to be asleep or answer. "I know you're up, Cbiara Blair."
"What?" is my response as I cast a quick peek in his direction and discover that he is staring at me as well. I avert my gaze fast.
"Come on," he said as I felt his gentle grip on my hand. I took it off right away from the shock, but he had his way because he held me firmly without experiencing any discomfort. "I'm not going to hurt you.”
I was frightened of what he would ask, even though I sounded annoyed when I said, "What do you want?" Might he inquire about my life, my future, or, in the worst case scenario, whether I still love his brother the same way I did before?
I stiffened where I was, asking, "What are we going to talk about?" Though I knew I was chilly and pallid, I couldn't let that deter me.
"Let's just talk," he said, brushing my arms in a gentle manner. The tension building inside made me gag.
"Random things," he answered. His yawn was audible to me.
"Let's go to sleep; you're sleepy." I told him. He just got home from work and isn't in the mood for sleep. Is he making himself tired?
"No, I want to make time with you. How many days have I wasted?”
I felt more at ease speaking to him with my back to him than facing him, so I continued to say, "You didn't waste anything; everything is fine, Raven. Don't worry about me." I would always make innuendos when it occurred.
He said, almost in a whisper, "But I want to take care of you," yet I could still hear him. I'm not going to let myself be duped by him. Blair, do you recall how Roux played with you? This is not the only thing he did to you to fall on him, so make sure you avoid that situation once again. Be resilient since they will undoubtedly cause chaos in your life, they are a Smith. And you do not want that to occur again.
"Do you want to see the stars?" I ask him instead. If we're just here in the room, tension between us will grow since we're together. I stood up even though he hadn't answered yet; I knew he would follow even if he didn't want to.
Built into the side of the house, there are two tables with four chairs on either side of my pool. It will take a while if we choose the other side, that's why we sit close by here. I noticed that there was only one moon and a large number of stars in the sky. The moon was too bright tonight.
He addressed me "Blair," and I quickly glanced at his flawless amber eyes, bridge nose, and coffee-colored hair. I was taken aback by his inquiry, "Why don't you want to be near me?"
"I don't want to be engaged in a Smith once more," I stated. I can no longer lie because he is fully aware of my activities.
"Is it because of my brother?"
"Because of all of you," I informed him. Lethia, Roux, their parents, and all of them play together with my emotions. Since Raven doesn't seem to care, I'm not sure if he's involved or if I should just go ahead and join him as well, since he's a Smith.
"I didn't know what the impact was that you made like this. But I know everything is heavy on you, so you don't have to worry; I won't interfere, but instead I will go to support you." I just heard him say something lengthy, so I'm new this time. "I'm not a vocal person, which is why I'm here to listen to your tirade," he concluded, lifting his mouth.
The reason I want to get rid of every Smith is still undiminished.
"How about you? Why are you helping me with your own blood?" I asked him again. I was curious why he was there immediately at the airport to make a deal with me against his own brother.
He answered, "I also want my own retribution." I turn at him; his eyes are focused on the rustle, not on me. "He took everything from me, and I let him manage it, but in the end, he just ruined my trust.”
Maybe, he was stuck on what had happened to him and Tatiana, Tati, was his fiancee. It turned out that Tati was infatuated with Roux, and the rest is just family history. Tati's abrupt disappearance is all that we know.
I didn't inquire more, whatever the case, Roux must have gone above and beyond to win Raven over to my side. After all, it's his life. Although I'm not sure if what is happening is right, all I just need is to make sure that I'll prevail in this conflict.
We were silent for a short while, and then I heard my name called. My forehead tightened. Who would come to see me at this hour?
"Blair!" The voice yelled. Raven and I exchange a look.
