We parted ways, myself going the other way and him going straight. I ducked just in time to avoid being noticed by the guard who was patrolling. I took a long inhale, almost holding my chest. I peeked to my left and right, and when I noticed no one was there I still crawled and I didn't get up until I reached the other side. It incredibly makes my heart pound crazy but I made it through, luckily.
There are so many curves and turns in this warehouse that I'm not sure where to go right now. On the outside, this appears to be straightforward, yet on the inside, you will be lost.
Bringing us here, where no one can hear us, is another reason why Mr. Smith is intelligent. Nobody lives around here, therefore nobody would try to aid us. That's what I believe he has in mind, as even I would take the same precautions just in case I was like him. What, he's not doing very well at this? That's why he took my kids? Furthermore, how did he find out about our children when Raven was unaware of them? To whom does it belong?
I was about to leave when I heard a voice talking.
The old man remarked, "Long time no see my son," and snorted as if he won this time. I can feel my fist beginning to ball up. How could that man inspire me to want to do things I detest? "I bet you know about my grandsons, right? They look like you and that woman."
Raven yelled, "Where are they?!" with thunder. She might lose self-control in such a circumstance. Now that he had cooled down, he asked, "Where are my children, Mr. Smith?" It appeared that he also believed that the child would suffer a terrible fate at the moment he became enraged.
"Come on, Raven, when we get their ransom from Cbiara, we'll get a lot of gold and diamonds. Even their property will be ours; I'm doing this for us. So you don't have to pretend," he teased Raven talking about the child.
"Do you hear yourself? Is that how you think of me? Don't fvcking make me look like you!" He growled and looked ready to put his fist in his face. I, on the other hand, can't be bothered by what will happen next. "I didn't raise to be like you, Dad; I'm not Roux! Fvck!" I heard him grumble, and my eyes widened as if someone were beating him.
"If only you would be on my side, then everything would be fine; you know, things will be good if only you wouldn't have taken the wrong path."
"No! You're on the wrong path." He hadn't finished what he said when I heard a moan again, so I couldn't be too uncomfortable in my seat.
God, what am I going to do now? Just stop here. If I leave, what might happen to Raven but how about my children? Damn, I don't know how I could handle this situation. I'm going crazy. I chose to stay because I felt there was something I should know.
"Shut up and fvck off! You know what will happen if you don't obey me, right? Why did you choose that girl over me?! She's not even worth it!"
"Shut up! She is worth it! Cbiara Blair is not like other girls who can be taken at any time you want. She is worth it to choose and risk, so you have no right to say that! You are the one who's useless anyway!" He spit out, so I heard another loud slap. I closed my eyes. "Is that what you can do, father?" I wanted to shout for him to stop answering because he was already hurting, but I forgot that he is Raven, a hard-headed Smith.
"When are you going to shout that to everyone? I am your father, jerk! Roux is still good."
"Yeah, Roux is a good fool; that's why you fooled him when he broke up with Cbiara. You fooled him because of what? For money!"
"Shut up! You knew nothing."
"Yes, I know, Dad. I knew everything because Mom told me all your rudeness before she died. To inform you, Mom is the one who told me to leave your life." He said boldly, as if he wasn't afraid of what might happen, even though I couldn't see their faces. For sure, they are glaring at each other.
"That what? That I threatened Roux that I would kill the Ashton family if he doesn't divorce that girl? The girl you're crazy about now too?" I heard him guffaw so hard as if everything for him was just a joke.
"Killing is just easy for you, isn't it? That everything is a fvcking toy for you. What do you really want, Mr. Smith? When are you going to stop?!" I just locked my eyes, not knowing what was about to transpire. I made an effort to move and look through the tiny hole to peer into them. When I notice that Raven's mouth is covered in blood, I cover my mouth too. Oh no, what took place?
I clenched my hand to watch what Raven went through, saying, "Of course everyone is just a toy for me, Raven. Remember that your father is a Smith and I can do anything." This time, I want to take the blame. I hope he will just be silent there. I want to help him, but I know I'm powerless.
"Stop! Fvck, stop this!" I whisper. I don't know how long it will take them to confess.
"Why did you have to do that, Mr. Smith? Why do you have to make everyone's life miserable? What is Cbiara's fault, huh? Why do you have to punish her like that? What did her family do to you that you still can't accept?!" He tried to get away from those men who were holding him, but they only tightened their grip on him.
"Because her mother is my first love!" I turn around and slowly slide to the floor, my two hands covering my mouth, and I forbid myself to make a noise because my chance is over.
How? I don't know; I thought he was just a suitor, so how did it become a first love? Didn't Daddy get married? So how?
"She is my greatest love of all!" He hissed at Raven's face.
