"How's our princess? You're going home the next day, right?"
Hiro, my closest buddy, never failed to remind me about my comeback. He answered my FaceTime even though he was doing makeup, so I grinned at him on the screen. Leaning on the back of my chair, I contemplated the possible outcomes of my return home.
I planned everything in my mind; I was so sure that this would happen, and if not, I had my plan B. I always do. He noticed that I was thinking about something, so he looked at me with his brows knitted.
"What is it? Don't you want to continue the plan?" He seriously stared at my face. I bit my bottom lip.
"Of course not," I cursorily replied. No way; I never thought that I would not resume it. My decision was intact; I was going to make them pay! I remembered what they did to me before; I can't forget no matter how hard I try, and that's alright. I can't forget how Roux played with me.
Everything he did was just a fake. His words, his gestures—all of that was a lie.
"That's good," he snapped at me. "Remember who you lost, and please don't give in to that man because I know you, Cbiara Blair!" He widened his eyes, and my cheekbone lifted high.
Over the five years here in Chicago, no one else knew what happened except my family and the Smith family. I'm here without anyone knowing about my exact location. Hiro is the one I always talk to about news in New York; he is also my partner in the plans I form in my mind. Hiro has always been there to comfort me when he knew that I had lost my baby. He was the only one who had sympathy because even my family abandoned me.
That was the first time my mother had argued with Daddy, and she lost her life after suffering a heart attack. She was the one who had defended me. To make matters worse, Dad thought I was the one who killed my mother and burdened him, which is why I never completed my degree when they discovered I became pregnant. After what happened to my mother, he suffered a stroke, and he acts irrationally when he sees me. I don't have the face to go see him now that he's returned to Grandma's province. Admittedly, the man who conceived me was only 20 years old, and I was only 19. At that moment, I knew he would support me, but he took a different action. He made me the most foolish person in the world.
"I know what to do, Hiro."
"It's Herra!" he menacingly snarled at me, but I just laughed at him because he was only on the screen and he couldn't hit me in the head. "By any chance..." He pouted before diverting our conversation. "What are your plans if they don't accept your invitation?"
Placing my elbow on the wooden table, I folded my hands and rested my chin on the backs of them while maintaining a fixed gaze on him. He raised an eyebrow, awaiting my response.
"Well, Smith is such a powerful person. And you know that our people love them, so do you think they won't accept my invitation?"
"How sure are you that they will come?"
"Won't people wonder why they weren't at my birthday party when I am inviting them? I'm pretty sure, it will be a controversy to their family. You know how clean they are," I made a posture and tapped my long nails on the wooden table. "Come on, Hiro." His face turned sour calling him ‘Hiro’ but I didn't pay attention to that. "They don't want an enemy in our town, so I know they're going to attend and act like nothing happened."
He put his eyelashes in his eyes. Well, he is a makeup artist; that's why he knows everything about it. When I found out from Hiro about Roux and Lethia's situation, that's when I made the plan. Roux loves babies; unfortunately, after Lethia got pregnant and miscarried, she couldn't have another one. Of course, both of them will suffer, and I'll use Raven as my only ace this time. I know he is hard to seduce, but I'll make sure to get him and use him for any reason, and that will happen. I will stomp them to the ground one by one, especially Roux and Lethia. I will not let them just oppress me.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked me this time, "Aren't you going to back off?"
"Why would I?” I asked him back, and he tipped his head up and down. "They make my life hell, and I'll do it back to them," I smirk like a villain in the movie as I slowly think about the result of my revenge.
Time flies so fast that we don't know what will happen next. I can't remember how I got here, and now I will fly back to the town where I fell in love, was hurt, and was lost. I'm coming back, but I'm not Cbiara Blair Ashton, who will just agree to be trampled on by them. This time, I will rise, and I will show them who I am.
I got on the plane, and I fell asleep while waiting to get to my destination.
When I arrived, I enjoyed the scenic of New York, it was still picturesque. I called Hiro to pick me up here at the airport because we are going to buy what I will wear for my birthday. I shouldn't celebrate that, but that's part of my plan, so I have to do it.
My day will be made if I wear sunglasses, a white shirt, and a jeans skirt with slits. Since I'll just buy things here, I didn't carry a lot of goods. Since I own a residence in Chicago, I don't want to bring anything with me. If I need to, I can fly back.
I was looking for Hiro in the crowd when I noticed a pair of slack shoes since I was bending down in case someone saw me and came forward to introduce themselves. I looked up, and to my astonishment, it was Axl Raven. My heartbeat has accelerated. We kept our eyes locked on one another as I fixed my posture. It continued to be as though he could look at me angrily, but there was also longing and pleasure in his gaze.
Why is he here?
Maybe he was waiting for someone. I was about to leave when he suddenly touched my wrist, and electricity turned on when he touched me. I gaze at his way.
"You're back." I don't know why I hear something strange in his voice, or is it just my imagination? "Cbiara," you have to be tough Cbiara; he's a Smith!
"Mr. Smith, I have a lot of things to do. Please excuse me." I smiled as though we had been friends for a long time, even though I knew he could read my emotions. as I released my grip on the hands. My world stopped as he said the words I didn't think he would say.
"I'll help you with what you want, but be my queen." Bewilderment was evident on my face. "You'll just give me the satisfaction that I want, and I'll give you what you want to achieve." Indeed, he was a demeaning Smith.
This was not what I had in mind! What knowledge did he have? By satisfaction, what did he mean?
I looked up at him, and he looked back at me, his eyes speaking. Something shook in my head. How come he moves so quickly?
