84. Angel is getting more sensitive
"Gosh... why am I so lazy now..." groaned Angel as she spread his arms wide. She felt her body was so stiff from sleeping all day.
"What's the time now?" Angel muttered as she stared at the bedroom window, showing the skyline of Fox City which was starting to turn black. "Huh? It's late?"
"Right, and you've slept more than five hours all day."
The sound made Angel turn around, finding Erick who had just entered the room. She smiled widely as her moved to sit down. "I'm sorry, but this body always wants to sleep."
"Actually, I don't have a problem, darling," said Erick, who was now sitting in front of Angel, looking at the woman closely. "But it would be nice if you played with Erlena once in a while."
"Yes, later I will invite Erlena to play and later let her sleep with us here," answered Angel with pursed lips.
"Then you two can just sleep together."
"Why?" Angel frowned.
Erick stretched out one hand, bringing his thumb to gently caress Angel's cheek. "I have to go back to the castle, because I have royal business to attend to."
"Why suddenly?"
"Not suddenly, darling... I came here with the intention of proposing to you, after that the plan was to come back," explained Erick.
"You don't intend to invite us again?" Angel pursed her lips.
"Don't you already have an appointment with the designer?"
"Yes and you deliberately wanted to go alone."
Erick took a deep breath, trying to increase his stock of patience. "It's not like that, Angel... please understand. If you really want to come along, go ahead."
"No, I'd better focus on our wedding preparations."
Erick smiled gently. "Okay, now let's get out of this room, let's eat together or something before I leave."
Angel nodded, a smile hanging on her lips. For some reason, she felt like a wife who was about to be left to go to work by her husband. And it feels quite strange but also fun.
Angel got out of bed, hugged Erick's arm as she walked beside the man.
"Do we need to teleport to the dining room?"
Angel shook her head quickly. "No, I want to walk with you normally."
"Okay." Erick pulled his arm, changing to hug Angel's waist possessively. Occasionally he kissed the woman's temple, and also looked at Angel's face which looked wrinkled but still looked so beautiful in his eyes.
Angel felt that those sweet touches meant a lot to him. Erick, who seems cold, never forgets to show love language in the form of a light touch that makes him float.
They went down one floor, down the hall to enter the kitchen area. However, just as she stepped in, Angel suddenly covered her mouth and nose. She felt uncomfortable with the aroma of the food served on the table.
"What dish is this?" Angel asked with a deep frown.
"The waiter makes pasta, Angel... it tastes very delicious. You have to try it," said Mrs. Matthew was already sitting at one of the tables.
"Gosh, I really want to vomit because of this unpleasant smell," Angel grumbled. It wasn't really an exaggeration, because suddenly her stomach felt like it was churning when she inhaled the aroma of food which suddenly made hers nauseous.
"Angel, you have to respect other people's cooking," scolded Mrs. Matthew with a firm look. "Besides, you're not usually like this."
"But, Mom. I really want to- eemmphht." Angel covered her mouth again. She immediately ran towards the toilet near the kitchen.
Angel squatted in front of the toilet, vomiting what was in her stomach. It was as if she couldn't hold back the nausea that suddenly appeared, as if there were thousands of hands stirring the insides of her stomach at this moment.
"Honey, are you okay?" asked Erick who approached, his face looking worried.
Angel gasped, sitting limply on the side of the toilet while catching his breath. She felt pain in her stomach. "I don't know why I'm suddenly nauseous."
"Maybe your gastritis is recurring, Angel," said Mrs. Matthew came closer. "Didn't you just eat a little at breakfast? And all day you just slept."
"Did you bring medicine for gastritis, Madam?" Erick asked.
Mrs. Matthew shook her head slowly. "Unfortunately I didn't bring any medicine."
"Erick, I'm okay," said Angel as she stood up. "I just want you to remove all that food from the dining table."
"Okay, you wait a moment. I'll ask the waiter to throw away all the food." Erick turned around, preparing to take a step when one of his hands was grabbed from behind.
"I want to eat half-cooked grilled meat," Angel whined in a spoiled tone.
Erick smiled gently. "You'll get it soon."
Finally, Angel was able to sit back calmly after all the pasta was removed from the dining table. Now, her eyes seemed to sparkle brightly when she saw the grilled meat with fresh red fibers presented in front of hers.
"Angel, you have to eat it slowly," admonished Mrs. Matthew, when she saw her daughter eating too well, even seemed to be in a hurry.
"Just leave it alone, maybe he's very hungry," said Erick, who also ate the meat gracefully.
"Is she... thirsty- as usual?" asked Mrs. Matthew hesitated. Because the thirst referred to here is the desire to consume blood.
"Maybe, because she hasn't drunk blood in the last few days," replied Erick casually.
Mrs. Matthew took a deep breath. She should have been able to accept the condition of all the creatures surrounding hers at this time, but apparently there was still a feeling of discomfort in her chest.
"Mom, where is Erlena?" Angel asked after swallowing who knows how many pieces of meat.
"She's in her room with Anne. She's an extraordinary baby, not the least bit fussy even though she hasn't met her mother," explained Mrs. Matthew with a gentle smile.
"That doesn't mean She doesn't need me, Mom," protested Angel with disapproval.
"Yes, mommy knows, and mommy didn't say that either."
Suddenly Angel put down the fork which she was holding roughly, making a loud clink. She got up with an annoyed look on her face. "I'll take care of it then."
"Honey, finish your meal first," said Erick gently.
"I am done!" Angel stomped her feet, then walked quickly out of the dining room.
"Actually, what's wrong with Angel?" asked Mrs. Matthew shook her head slowly. "She's not usually like this."
"I don't know either, but let it be," replied Erick, who also got up. "I'll take a look."
Erick nodded slowly before walking away, leaving his future mother-in-law. He walked quickly out of the dining room, down the hall to get into the elevator that would take him up. It's strange when he forgets to use his powers, maybe because he has lived like a human too often.
Ting...
There was a ding from the elevator, then the doors opened. Erick continued his steps with the intention of heading to baby Erlena's room. However, suddenly his footsteps stopped when he saw a body lying in front of him.
"Angel!"
