80. Beautiful in its time

"Eeenggg... how long have I been asleep..." Angel groaned softly, spreading his arms wide while stretching her stiff back muscles.

Angel pulled the blanket that had been thrown up to her ankles, covering her still innocent body again. Angel smiled to himself, remembering how Erick was like a hungry lion when he touched him, wild, rough and without pause. I don't know how many times they made love during the night, until Angel woke up with her body crushed.

"Erick is crazy," muttered Angel, shaking her head slowly.

Angel moved to sit up, wincing when she felt discomfort in her groin. Even so, Angel did not feel regret, instead she felt happiness at the satisfaction she had obtained.

"What's the time now?" Angel looked at the open balcony door, the blue sky was so bright even though it was not hit by sunlight.

Angel took her feet towards the balcony, ignoring her innocent body which was hit by the cold autumn air. Angel inhaled strongly the cool aroma of the leaves, which penetrated and created comfort in her chest.

"This place may be very cold, but it also feels comfortable and calm." Angel sighed, looking around at the back yard which looked cool. At that moment, Angel could see Erick sitting under a tree, holding their baby on his lap.

Angel's smile bloomed again. "Erick is an extraordinary father. Erlena is lucky to have Erick."

Finally, Angel rushed to clean himself, before approaching the two people she loved most. Angel's feet stepped casually across the grassy yard which felt dewy. Angel intended to call Erick, but his voice paused when she heard Erick seeming to be chatting with their daughter.

"Are you sure, darling?" asked Erick, still unaware of Angel's presence behind him.

"Uuummm..." replied Baby Erlena as if answering her father's question.

"So daddy has to do it?"

"Do what?" said Angel, who was no longer able to contain her curiosity.

Suddenly Erick turned around, and so did baby Erlena. The funny thing is, the baby actually laughed loudly, as if laughing at her father's funny gaping expression.

"What are you talking about?" Angel asked with a probing look.

"Aaummm... aummm...." babbled baby Erlena in an adorable voice.

Angel frowned, sitting on the same cloth as Erick and their daughter. Angel leaned towards baby Erlena. "Why are you so picky, darling? You only want to talk to your father. Meanwhile, when you're with your mother, you only talk about important things."

"Aaauuummm.... aummmm...." Baby Erlena just pursed her tiny lips.

Immediately Erick laughed with amusement, feeling victorious when baby Erlena was more pro towards him. Erick was not afraid when he received a sharp look from Angel. "Don't blame me, this was Erlena's own choice."

Angel snorted loudly, straightened her body again, folding her arms across her chest. "Then what were you talking about?"

Erick reflexively looked at his daughter, then turned his eyes back to Angel while showing a wide grin. "We're just talking about your mother. Shouldn't you accompany her first? Let Erlena stay here with me."

"Good grief!" Angel screamed with wide eyes. Angel almost forgot about her mother. Even though yesterday Angel came to this castle just to avenge Rose's actions, her logic ended with Erick's passionate temptation disappearing.

"Don't worry," Erick smiled gently, reaching out a hand to caress Angel's cheek. "Erlena said that Mrs. Matthew has passed the critical period. She is conscious even though she is still in a weak condition."

"Really? I'd better go home, but-" Angel paused, looking at baby Erlena's beautiful face. "Why should I leave Erlena here."

"Honey," Erick smiled gently, "we'll catch up, but it's better if you focus on your mother for now. Erlena will be fine with me."

"What if Erlena wants to breastfeed?" Angel changed to caressing the baby's red cheeks.

"Erlena can drink fresh blood, Angel... and Erlena likes it too."

"Is that right, darling?"

"Auumm... aummm."

Angel took a deep breath. "Okay, I'll be back then."

***

Angel was seen entering the treatment room occupied by his mother. Her worried face now turned into a bright glow when she saw her mother, who was half sitting, leaning against the head of the bed.

"Mom..." Angel called softly as she walked closer to the bed.

Mrs. Matthew turned her head, just smiled a little without answering.

Angel sat on the edge of the bed, took her mother's hand and kissed it gently. "How does mommy feel now?"

"Mommy's scared."

Angel raised an eyebrow. "What is mommy afraid of?"

Mrs. Matthew seemed to be breathing heavily, his gaze wandering. "That woman wants to kill Mommy, that woman really hates you. Mommy is just afraid that that woman will hurt you too."

"Mom..." Angel changed to stroking her mother's cheek. "It's all over, Erick has punished him."

That's when Mrs. Matthew widened, focusing again on Angel. "Eric?"

"That's right. Doesn't Mommy know that Erick was the one who helped Mommy?"

Mrs. Matthew just shook her head slowly. "At that time, mommy just felt like she was going to die, and couldn't think of anything."

"And that woman has received the punishment she deserves, Mom. That woman won't be able to bother us anymore."

"Then where is Erlena? Is Erlena okay?"

Angel gave a gentle smile. "Erlena is with her father. Erick told me to focus on taking care of mommy, and Erick will take care of Erlena for the time being."

"Erick really loves you," said Mrs. Matthew with a smile on her lips.

"I know, Mom."

"What are you waiting for?"

"I-"

Ciiiuuuu... duarr... duarr....

The loud sound made them both stand on tiptoe in surprise, reflexively turning towards the bedroom window. In the sky that night, fireworks were so bright, creating very beautiful sparks.

"It's so beautiful, mommy wants to see it."

Angel just smiled a little, still staring at the fireworks that appeared repeatedly.

"Angel..."

Angel turned her head when she felt a tug on her hand. "Yes, Mom?"

"Mommy wants to see the fireworks."

"Yes, mommy can see it from here."

"No," Mrs. Matthew shook her head slowly, "mommy wants to see him on the roof of the building."

"What?!" Angel shouted with a shocked face.

"Mommy please... take mommy to the roof of the building."

"But mom-"

"Please...."

Angel was silent for a moment. Her mother's request seemed very ridiculous, but Angel couldn't just ignore it, especially when she saw her mother's pitiful face like that.

"Okay," Angel sighed softly, "I'll take mommy there."

Finally, with the help of the nurse, Angel brought Mrs. Matthew used a wheelchair to climb to the roof of this hospital building. They went up via the elevator, until they reached the top floor.

Ting.... the elevator door opens. Angel pushed the wheelchair out. Suddenly the welcome night breeze hit the two of them, blowing away strands of Angel's long, untied hair.

"Mom, it's very dark in here," said Angel when she couldn't see anything around the building, because there were no lights to illuminate it. The only light that helped them was the light from the occasional firework sparks that were still visible.

"Very beautiful."

Sayings of Mrs. Matthew couldn't help but make Angel look up to the sky, enjoying the light of the fireworks which were blooming beautifully.

Ciiuuuu... duaarrr... duarr.... once again, the fireworks exploded in the sky, but this time it also made Angel's heart explode wildly as the sparks formed a sentence.

"Marry Me, My Angel?"
