Chapter 16 16

Chapter 16 16
"Open the door, Mark."
Damian stood in front of his friend, ordering him to step down from in front of him and allow him to enter.
Mark folded his thick forearms against his hard, muscular chest, obstinately facing Damian.
"Damian's retreat—no one will enter it until Kaeden wakes up."
"She has to answer some questions; she has to say why she is here and who sent her. And what is its nature? We need these answers. Mark, I need to know what you did to my brother."
"You will not be able to answer any of your questions."
"And why?"
"Because she doesn't know, she doesn't know the answer, and she doesn't know what her nature is. And what happened yesterday happened against her; she is in a period of transformation, and we were expecting it to happen at any moment."
Damian clenched his fists, exhaling his roaring breath in anger, denouncing the secrecy with which they dealt around him.
He had his doubts from the beginning, but he didn't expect her to be so dangerous and have unparalleled abilities!
"So, you know the answers to my questions," he asked, trying to dig out some facts from him.
"I will not answer anything; ask your brother," Mark replied, ending their conversation.
Damian stared blankly at the door that protects Mark's port, nodding his head, "Okay, I'll ask my brother, Mark!!"
Three days have passed since the pantry incident. Celine is still in the cell waiting for news about Kayden, and everyone in the palace is on alert due to what happened to their king and his unstable health condition.
Larissa spent that period next to him; she never left him. She supported him with her blood, refusing to do that task for another female, her king whom she loved throughout these centuries. She loved him despite knowing that his heart was looking for another, for the owner of the sun necklace that was not leaving his neck until she came herself to him, the woman who separated them and turned their lives from love, promises, and hope to pain, waiting, and longing that cannot be satisfied.
..........
Celine lay on her back, counting the cracks protruding from the ceiling of the cell, following them with her fingertips, and humming Kayden's song to her.
Her heart misses him so much; she misses his warm looks overflowing with passion, his resolute voice that sometimes terrifies her, his inexhaustible warnings, and his feelings that he showered her with torrents, discovering that Kayden had become in the past short period the most important person in her life.
Now what will their unnamed relationship lead to?
How will he take what you did to him?
Will he leave her to rot in this dungeon forever?
Well, you wouldn't blame him if he did, because in the end you almost killed him with something you still don't know what it is.
The only question that does not leave her is how she was not affected by those radiations emanating from her body.
After that disaster, all she needed was exposure to the sun's rays, as they took her to the surface, so she sat under its rays, watching it with her own eyes, rushing through her arteries as if it were a panacea, transforming her skin into a visible, transparent one that enabled her to see the light flowing through her veins smoothly.
She sighed sadly, wiping an orphaned tear that escaped from her eyeball, continuing her contemplation of the ceiling without getting bored.
The door roared, announcing the arrival of someone, and she sighed narrowly, addressing the next without bothering to check his identity:
"I told you I don't want to eat; leave me alone," she sighed sadly.
"Don't you see that I am a dangerous creature that deserves to die and doesn't deserve to live?" I was silent for a moment, echoing a choke. "There is darkness inside me that visits me daily during my sleep and steals a piece of me. Cayden was expelling him with his sweet hymn, but I killed him…I burned him…"
He went inside and sat silently close to her, reaching out to gently wipe her tears, and she opened her red eyes, which were weeping, and I fell asleep, seeing his figure swimming with her cloudy eyeballs.
She straightened in her seat, blinking several times to make her vision clear, and spread out her trembling palm to touch his soft and smooth skin, free from the traces of burns she had caused him.
She wandered with her longing gazes around his features and body, inspecting every inch of him, and when she was satisfied with his complete recovery, she returned to his eyes, which were watching her with longing, muttering amid her gasps.
"Is that really you? ...You"
He smiled tenderly, opening his arms to her, inviting her to his bosom, and she fell to him without hesitation, towering with a burning heart. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry...forgive me, please... I didn't mean what happened... I don't know what happened...."
He held her tightly to his chest, a force equal to the extent of his longing, unconcerned about her size or ability to withstand him, holding her breath, gently rocking her.
"Shhhh, you're not to blame for what happened; stop crying and apologize."
She held him, holding him as if he were a lifeline, burying her wet face in his warm chest. "I'm scared, Kayden. I'm scared of myself and my abilities. What if this happened again and I killed you next time or one of the residents of the palace?"
Her torn tone of voice hit him to the core.
I let her down!
For, until now, he has not been able to reach the tip of a thread that leads him to the way to help her embrace her nature without it being a source of harm to those around her.
He exhaled, deciding that it was time to tell her the truth in detail.
Perhaps this matter will give her some peace and relieve her from the whirlpool of questions and confusion in which she is located.
"What happened to you that day is a miniature of your capabilities, from the early stages of your transformation, after which you will be able to turn this palace into ashes within a few minutes, concealing the impact of all of us with it."
She lay in his arms, stunned by what he was telling her!
Does he mean that it is capable of igniting and burning everything that surrounds it without having the power over itself to stop it?
She held her breath for a moment, unable to respond in any way.
Feeling the ground falling from under her, she thinks of that Sirana she saw in the basement; he didn't seem to have all those destructive abilities!
"To this degree, sirens are dangerous creatures."
I asked him in a tone of panic that I could not contain, and Kayden
He furrowed his eyebrows in a questioning manner, not understanding the relationship of the serena with its nature. "What has the serena got to do with you, Celine?" ask her.
"Now, won't I turn into one of them?" she asked, adding in a tone of terror, "Oh, mighty one!! For every time your doctor mentions that my transformation is near complete, my body panics, hating what I'm going to do. I'm sure you'll be disgusted just looking at me."
She wrapped her arms around his stiff and thick waist, clutching her trembling fingers to his shirt, bouncing against his chest, saying, "I'd rather die than see the look of disgust in your eyes; I don't want you to hate me," she gasped bitterly. "What should I do... Where should I go... I think that my death would be better for me and for all of you."
Kayden furrowed his eyebrows in shock, drowning in a vague puzzlement, not understanding why she was thinking this way, finally understanding the reason for her nightmares that had been out of control lately.
"What made you think that you would turn into one of them?" he asked, bewildered.
She raised her head from his chest and looked at him stupidly, her face wet, her nose red, and her eyes puffy. She opened her mouth, closed it, and opened it again, muttering.
"The six of their kind? He called me his queen... he..."
Kayden's features darkened, denouncing her illogical interpretation of what the Siren had told her on that fateful day, which led her to drown in the cycle of recurring nightmares throughout the past period.
"Eat this time thinking you're one of them?" He asked her irritably, "Oh, mighty one! And do you think that I would have kept you for a moment in my palace, and my room, and my bed, and among my people, if you were one of them?
Her features froze, her mind quivering from thinking.
She frowned, trying to understand what he was saying. Does he mean it's not a siren?
Won't you turn out to be one of them?
So what is it?
She rose up in his arms, as if he had electricity that stung her, roaring at him with a mixture of panic and astonishment, "Are you saying that I am not a Siranya!
So what am I?
And what happened to me that day?"
He intertwined his thick fingers with his thick black hair and took a long breath, thinking of the horror of that fateful night.
Leaving her neighbor to wander the width of the dungeon with a tension that he could not contain, it was time for the truth, a fact he thought by hiding it might not become a reality.
He stood in front of her, watching her watching him with anticipation, waiting for an answer from him.
"You are nicknamed the Daughter of the Sun, created from its light, possessing supernatural powers so that you can transform yourself into a fiery torch as dangerous as a mobile atomic bomb capable of wiping the trace of life off the face of the earth in a jiffy, and what happened before is a miniature model of your destructive abilities that you will acquire after the completion of your transformation."
He finished watching her stare at him pallid, as if she had turned into a lifeless fetish.
"Celine, are you okay?" He asked, worried about her, watching her retreat, trying to create distance between them, muttering in a torn tone:
"You must stay away from me. If what you are saying is true, this means that I am able to kill you and eliminate all your dear ones. Now I understand what you were saying to me and these bracelets." I touched, saying, "I promise that I will never take them off my wrist…I pro..."
