Chapter 76: I Will Kill For You
Chapter 76: I Will Kill For You
Nelly
The sun had barely begun to dip below the horizon, casting long, sinister shadows over Blancvue Mansion, when the tranquility of the grand estate was shattered by the sound of shattering glass and splintering wood. We had been lounging in the parlor, our bodies satiated and relaxed from our earlier exploits, and sprang to our feet, our eyes wide with sudden, intense fear.
"What's that?" I gasped, my heart pounding in my chest. "What's happening?" I am growing tired of being disturbed, and being pregnant makes me nearly helpless. I hate it. I love this life I am carrying, but hate how it makes me reliant on others. If I weren’t pregnant, I would have snuck up on the bastard.
Vincent's eyes narrowed, his body tense and ready. "It's Alexandros, Nelly. He's returned." His voice was steady, but I could hear the undertone of worry, of determination. "And this time... this time, he means to take what's ours."
As if on cue, the library doors burst open, revealing Alexandros, his eyes wild, his face contorted with a mix of rage and desperation. In his hands, he held a silver-plated dart, the tip glinting wickedly in the dim light of the parlor. "Nelly," he snarled, his voice filled with a dark, menacing undertone. "Come with me, now. Or I swear, I will make you watch as I destroy everything you hold dear."
I gasped, my body tensing, my hands clenching into fists at my sides. “Fuck you! I decide who I love, and I decide whose children I bear. Leave now and don’t come back. If you don’t, you will become our dinner.”
Vincent, Alec, and Quinn moved in unison, their bodies positioning themselves in front of me, their eyes filled with a fierce, unbreakable protectiveness. "You won't touch her, Alexandros."
Vincent growled, his voice low and dangerous. "You won't touch any of us. Not again, not ever."
Alexandros sneered, his eyes flicking over the four figures before him, his gaze lingering on me, a dark hunger gleaming in his eyes. "You think to protect her, vampire? You think to stand in my way?" He scoffed, his lips curling into a sneer. "You are weak, all of you. And you will fall, one by one, until there's nothing left. Until Nelly is mine."
Quinn growled, a low, menacing sound that promised pain and retribution. "Nelly is ours, Alexandros. Not yours. She never was, and she never will be. Choose your path, hunter. Leave now, and we will forget this little... intrusion. Stay, and face the consequences."
Alexandros' eyes flashed with a sudden, intense realization. He saw the love, the commitment, the unity between us. And he knew, with a sudden, aching clarity, that he was fighting a losing battle. But it was too late to turn back, too late to retreat this time. His eyes filled with a sudden, intense determination, and he lunged, the silver-plated dart flying straight and true towards my heart.
But Vincent was ready, his body moving with a speed that belied his calm exterior. He caught the dart mid-flight, his hand closing around the silver-plated projectile, his face contorting with pain. Alexandros paused, surprise flickering across his visage, but it was Alec who struck, his body morphing into a blur of speed and fangs, his hand capturing Alexandros' wrist, his teeth sinking into the hunter's flesh.
Alexandros screamed, his body writhing as Alec was draining him, weakening him, consuming him. I watched, my heart pounding, my body frozen with fear and indecision. I knew what they were doing, what they were becoming.
As if sensing my thoughts, Vincent turned to me, his eyes filled with a soft, comforting tenderness. "Nelly, my love," he murmured, his voice filled with a quiet, profound intensity. "This is not the end. This is only the beginning. Our bond, our love, it's strong. It's unbreakable. And we will face whatever comes our way... together."
