Chapter 13
Marcella
I sat down on the bed as soon as Killian left the room. I couldn't understand how marrying me would protect me. And from whom. I missed my life. Sure it was lonely, but I had moments of peace when I was in my bakery. Having moments with customers and Lexi. Even Ana before things started going south in our relationship.
About twenty minutes passed when the door opened again and the same woman came in, this time with a single dress. I tried not to look at it. Believe me I did but it was the most gorgeous dress i have ever seen.
The dress was white satin silk with off shoulder full sleeves and it had small yet delicate embroidery starting vastly from the hem and going up the design minimized. This dress was everything and more than I could have imagined. Better than the catalogs I saw when I was planning my wedding.
“Miss Stark, we have about thirty minutes to get you ready. Please follow me so we can start with a bath really quick.” The woman said but I could not bring myself to move. Even an inch of movement felt a lot..
I adored this dress but this was not how i imagined getting married. This was nothing i ever imagined happening to me. I heard a sigh and it was only then I realized my eyes were closed with tears sliding down my cheek.
I felt the mattress dip beside me but I still did not open my eyes. “I can't do this.” My voice was only a whisper but I knew she heard me.
I felt her hand on mine which intertwined together on my lap. “I understand what this is doing to you girly. But I know what is going on out there and what your sister has pulled you into is much more dangerous than marrying Killian. He will protect you and keep you safe.”
“And after this is over? Will he let me go?” I looked at her and she was looking at me like a mother would. Her sudden warmth from her previous hardness made me want to hug her. Maybe a hug from her would feel like my mothers again.
“I wish I could give you an answer to that but i'm not sure.” She wanted to say something more. I was sure of it from how she opened and then closed her mouth.
“What? What is it?”
“Nothing girly. We need to get going.” She said as she stood up.
“If i am going in this blindly, i need to get as much understanding as i can.” I told her back.
She did not turn around but I knew she was going to tell me something that would change my whole perspective. “I think you should give Killian a chance. That boy has gone through more in life than any child should at his age.” She turned towards me and I saw wetness in her eyes. I knew this woman was strong and loved Killian by the look in her eyes.
“Jonah and Dom aren't Killians real brothers. He saved them from a monster.” My eyes widened at the words she just spoke. “The same monster he is trying to save you from.” She moved to me again and took my hand, pulling me to stand with her. “Please let him.”
I nodded my head because at this point I knew I lost and there was nothing that could save me from my fate. “I'm Marcella by the way.” I gave her a smile which she returned with her own small one.
“Rose.” With that she left the room.
I followed her out of the room for the first time since I got here. I can't even remember when I was brought here.
We moved up the crumbled stairs towards what I thought would be the same as the place I was kept. Depressing, dark and dirty.
My eyes widened in surprise as we stepped in the hallway. “Wow.” you could hear the wonder in my voice. It was bright with white paints and golden panels on the wall. Filled with paintings which I knew cost more than reasonable.
She chuckled softly. “This is nothing. There are more beautiful places in this house which I'm sure Killian would be happy to show you. For now we should hurry. We don't have much time.” She took me towards another staircase which was made of white marble.
This place was gorgeous.
She took me to a room and I gasped. Literally gasped at how beautiful and spacious this room was. It was bigger than my entire apartment.
“That's the door to the bathroom. Take a shower for not more than five minutes. The ladies will be in for your hair and makeup.” Rose said as she hung my dress neatly.
“I can do my own makeup and hair. I don't need people for that.” I said as I walked hesitantly towards the bathroom. Every step I took felt like it was leaving dirt behind.
“You can be as stubborn as you want but only with Killina. Not me girly.” She said in her famous neutral voice. I could nod. “I'll be back in ten minutes with the ladies. Make sure you are out and sitting on the vanity by then.”
I rushed to the bathroom. Every part of this house was beautiful. Even the damned bathroom. I did not want to love this place but it was getting harder room by room.
I took off my clothes cringing at their state. Those dirty clothes did not belong on this lavish floor.
I turned on the shower to hot and it was the best thing to ever exist. It's weird how something so simple can make you so grateful once you lose it.
I don't know how long I stayed there but the knock on the door startled me. I quickly turned off the water and wrapped the softest towel around me.
I opened the door to Rose standing with two other ladies who were setting up their things on the vanity. I wanted to resent everything that was happening to me, but anyone could be flattered by the luxury. If only this luxury did not get me married to a mobster. I sighed at that thought and rushed to where Rose stood with my wedding dress in a hand and a streamer in another.
“Lets get your hair and make up done and ready fast. But not too fast.” She winked at me. “Let's make your groom work for it.” I would have laughed with her and the other two women if I wasn't suddenly too wound up. I was getting married.
Married to the man who killed my ex fiance and probably wants to kill my sister. Who fucking kidnapped me.
In a daze I sat down on the chair when the girls immediately started getting me ready for my doom.
__________
Killian
I always knew I wouldn't marry for love. Damn i always knew i would never marry for fucks sakes. But marrying Marcella was something I wasn't opposed to. In fact I was excited. Heat rushed down my cock at the thought of Marcella. My wife.
Jonah and Dom came into my room. Without knocking may I add. I rolled my eyes at my brother's manners but I left it unsaid. They were dressed similar to me. Jonah, Dom and I were wearing the same black suit but only I had a green tie. Green like my wife's eyes.
They came to stand on either side of me. Like they always have. Jonah on my right and Dom on my left. They had dedicated their places beside me since we were kids and that hasn't changed. Looking at them now. I knew we stood as brothers and not men of the mafia.
Jonah removed something from his pocket and shoved it to my chest. “Here you go. Your wedding present from us.” His voice was as gruff as it always has been.
“Is that lovely? Should I cancel the wedding and have a sleepover with my boys now? We can even braid your hair Jonah.” Dom chuckled at my attempt to rile up Jonah And it finally happened. A small smile curled up his mouth. He had the worst of our life than any of us.
I opened the small box and I saw a watch from my favorite brand. “Thank you guys.” I removed the watch i was wearing when Dom asked me read the inscription
*Our Little Father*
I barked out a laugh at those stupid words. It was something Dom started when they came into my life. He used to say I was like their father and started calling me little father. Something in between a big brother and a father he would say. Soon Jonah started to call me that too and I praised God the day they stopped calling me that. I wont admit I missed hearing them say that.
I clasped the watch and turned towards my brother.
“Lets go get us a Little Mother.” Jonah said. And we laughed togther. It was after so long that we were brothers together. This life does take a toll on your relationships. Not just your life.
“Damn, I almost feel bad for poor Marcella. Who can live with your arrogant and heartless ass?” Dom said in his soft voice.
“She will. Forever.” And nothing or no one will take her away from me.
