Chapter 117 ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN
Chapter 117 ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN
SHIRLEY
I laughed hysterically, ‘Oh my God, so that’s the reason why you have been frustrating me today?’
His voice became calm. ‘You work for me, Shirley; disobeying your employer was never part of the deal.’
I snapped ‘Neither is working till 8 pm at night.’
‘Are you trying to tell me you are not competent enough for this job?’
‘If your definition of competency is working someone to death, then no, I’m not competent!!’
He chuckled, and I frowned more.
‘You are hilarious.’
‘No I’m not. You are the hilarious one, feeling so insecure because I went for lunch with Aiden.’
‘After I specifically told you not to.’
‘That’s none of your business. I’m an adult; you need to stop treating me like a child.’
He laughed, ‘Maybe if you stop acting like a child, then I will stop treating you like one.’
My eyes widened. ‘How dare you?’
‘How dare I do what? Tell you the truth?’
I stumped my foot angrily on the elevator floor. ‘I’m just going to ignore you.’
‘That won’t be possible. You can’t resist running your small mouth in this tiny space.’
I hissed ‘I’m not talking to you again, Lucien.’
He chuckled behind me: ‘Let’s see how long your silence lasts.’
I rolled my eyes and cursed him silently, not twitching a muscle. I was very determined to prove to him that he was so wrong about me not being able to remain silent.
As if things couldn’t get any worse, suddenly the stupid elevator decided to play its own tricks.
It jerked a couple of times, the lights shook, and before we could understand what was going on, it stopped.
With the sudden movement of the elevator, I almost smashed my head against the doors if not for the strong grip of a certain somebody.
I sighed in relief when his hands grabbed me. I was grateful until I inhaled sharply when he pulled me against his chest.
Time stood still; neither of us moved for a while.
My heart thumped loudly that I feared he might hear it, and heat rose to my cheeks.
It is so fucking annoying to be around him, the way my body reacts to him whenever our bodies touch……
My dirty mind wouldn’t let me have even a moment of peace without constantly having sexual thoughts about my stepfather.
I pushed his strong arms away and moved away from him, too.
‘Don’t touch me again,’ I said quickly, almost out of breath.
His eyes lifted in genuine surprise. ‘Don’t touch you?’
I nodded firmly, ‘Yes, keep your hands to yourself.’
He laughed, still surprised, ‘What happened to you acting civil and saying ‘Thank you for not allowing me to smash my head?’
I shrugged stubbornly, ‘I didn’t ask for your help; I can always take care of myself. I’m a big girl.’
‘Oh, I’m sure you are,’ he mocked me.
I huffed and turned away from him, staring at the elevator that hadn’t moved since then, wondering what had happened.
He laughed again and went ahead to press some buttons until he came to a conclusion.
‘Okay, we are stuck here,’ he said calmly as if it were no big deal.
I felt like I was about to choke. ‘Stuck? What does that mean?’
‘It means we are not going home now. We are stuck here until it is fixed.’
I refused to believe him. I started punching the buttons quickly, praying in my heart that he was wrong, but nothing was working.
Jesus Christ!!!! Please do something.
I can’t be stuck here with him alone.
I don’t trust myself around him; I don’t know how long I can hold myself around him before I fall limp in his hands and beg him to kiss me with those juicy lips of his.
I started pacing around the elevator, sweating my eyes out and fidgeting.
He watched me for some time without saying anything until he finally spoke up.
‘Damn woman, why are you panicking so hard?’
I ignored him.
‘Just relax, it’s not a big deal. It will soon be fixed, and we will leave.’
I snapped angrily at him, ‘Don’t you dare tell me to relax. How can I relax when I’m in a tiny space that is severely hot?’
‘Is that why you are looking at me like the malfunction is somehow my fault?’
I shrugged. ‘I don’t know, you exude negative energy, so it’s possible.’
Silence.
‘That’s new you know, I mean the negative energy you are talking about. It’s the first time you are telling me that.’
‘Whatever,’ I said, rolling my eyes.
A long pause.
Then, his stupidly deep voice came again, ‘What exactly is your problem with me, Shirley?’
I scoffed, ‘Everything. Your annoying personality, the way you bark orders at me like I’m your dog, everything about you sucks.’
His eyes darkened. ‘Interesting, so how is it that you say all these things about me but your body says something different?’
My breath hitched. ‘What do you mean?’
He walked slowly towards me. ‘You know what I mean. You try so hard to fight it, but without success.’
I coughed. ‘Fight what?’
‘Fight how attracted you are to me,’ he replied in a cool voice.
I forced a laugh. ‘You are so delusional, Lucien.’
He took another step, and I stepped back at once, my back hitting against the elevator wall.
He stood right in front of me and placed his hand beside my head against the elevator wall.
He boxed me in, leaving no room for escape.
I tried to push him away, but without success. ‘Let me go.’
He bent down and whispered, ‘Say it like you mean it and I will.’
I started hitting his chest with my hands, but he didn’t even twitch. ‘I will scream,’ I told him.
He scoffed, ‘No one will hear you, pretty thing; besides, I’m not hurting you.’
‘You are holding me captive.’
His eyes scanned me until they rested on my lips. ‘You allowed that bastard to touch you. You allowed him to taint your lips…’
I gasped as his fingers brushed against my lips lightly.
‘I can’t remember the last time I was this jealous. What are you doing to me, Shirley?’
