Chapter 86

Chapter 86

Patricia was taken aback, a wave of doubt rising in her heart.

From what she knew in her previous life, Glenn and Bruce had always had a solid father-son relationship. Glenn only had Bruce as a son, and even after the Anderson family split, Glenn still lived with Bruce. There had never been any rumors about an illegitimate child.

However, Ellie had mentioned something to her in passing the day she returned, but she hadn't gone into detail. Patricia had assumed it was just about pressuring Bruce to get married and hadn't paid much attention.

Glenn had always seemed like a kind and gentle person, rarely losing his temper at home. So, in her previous life, she had never heard of any conflicts between them.

"Glenn has an illegitimate child?" Patricia asked, following up on Thea's comment.

Thea's eyes lit up, confirming that Patricia was interested in this gossip.

She leaned closer to Patricia, glancing around to make sure no one else was nearby, then lowered her voice. "Surprised, right? Glenn's on his second marriage. We all thought he divorced his first wife because they didn't get along, but that wasn't the case at all!"

Thea's eyes widened dramatically, as if this was some earth-shattering news. Patricia, however, was skeptical about the truth of the matter.

"His first wife divorced him because she found out about the illegitimate child," Thea continued, lowering her voice even more. "Apparently, the child is about the same age as Charles. Bruce only found out a few days ago and was so furious he confronted Glenn about it."

Patricia was stunned, her eyes wide with shock.

Everyone knew about Glenn's second marriage and subsequent divorce. He was often in the entertainment news, and his scandals only stopped after he married his second wife.

She recalled that in her previous life, Glenn had always claimed the divorce was due to irreconcilable differences. Why would Bruce suddenly expose this now?

Could her rebirth have altered the course of events?

In her previous life, the Anderson family had their share of conflicts, but there had never been any mention of an illegitimate child.

Could this have something to do with Charles?

Seeing Patricia's reaction, Thea smiled smugly.

See? Who can resist a good piece of gossip?

Gossip really is the glue that brings people together.

Taking advantage of Patricia's contemplative state, Thea added, "I heard the illegitimate child is still abroad. Glenn has been secretly sending money to him all these years, using the Anderson family's assets to support him."

Thea hadn't forgotten how Bruce had threatened her at Sunrise Estate. Hearing about Bruce's troubles now made her feel quite pleased.

She rubbed her belly, a pang of guilt surfacing as she remembered the wrongs she had done to Patricia. She took the opportunity to offer some advice. "Patricia, men can't control their desires. Even with a stable family, they still cheat."

She glanced at Patricia, who had regained her usual calm demeanor after the initial shock.

Thea continued, "Don't you think Glenn is too much? He has such a good son in Bruce, yet he still pines for someone outside. It seems no woman can prevent a man from straying."

Despite Thea's pointed remarks, Patricia only responded with a nonchalant "Hmm."

Thea, feeling a bit frustrated, waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it, Patricia. How about we get out of here for a bit? It's boring just sitting around. I heard there's a new baby store nearby. I want to pick up some things for the baby."

Patricia nodded. She could use some fresh air too.

At 2 PM, Patricia accompanied Thea to the newly opened baby store nearby.

The store was warmly decorated, with shelves filled with various baby products.

Patricia pushed the shopping cart for Thea, who occasionally held up a tiny outfit for her to see.

Thea picked up a pink dress, which was almost the size of children's clothing, clearly not suitable for a newborn.

It seemed more like she was shopping for the kids at home rather than her unborn baby.

"Patricia, what do you think of this dress?" Thea smiled, holding up the dress. "I think it would look great on Emily."

"She already has plenty of clothes. You should focus on what you need," Patricia said, pushing the cart further into the store and pointing to a section with newborn clothes. "See if there's anything you like here. These are suitable for both boys and girls."

Thea put down the dress and walked over.

"Nothing really stands out. I don't even know if it's a boy or a girl," she said, touching her slightly rounded belly. "I hope it's a girl, as beautiful as you."

After browsing for a while, Thea suddenly clutched her stomach, her voice urgent. "Patricia, I need to use the restroom. Wait here for me."

With that, she hurried off towards the restroom.

Patricia nodded and continued browsing the shelves.

She had just picked out an outfit and was about to head to the checkout when a small child bumped into her. Before she could see who it was, she heard a polite apology in a soft, sweet voice.

"Sorry."

Patricia thought the voice sounded familiar. She looked down and was surprised to see the little girl she had met in Regal City.

"Isabel?" Patricia smiled, patting her head. "What are you doing here? Are you with your mom?"

Isabel blinked and gave Patricia a sweet smile. "Yes, my mom is shopping next door. I'm waiting for her here."

She eagerly took Patricia's hand, acting as if they were old friends.

"Are you picking out gifts for a baby?" Isabel asked, glancing at Patricia's belly with curiosity.

"I'm buying for someone else," Patricia replied with a gentle smile. "You be good and wait for your mom here. I need to go pay."

Patricia pushed the cart towards the checkout, Isabel's eyes following her intently.

Meanwhile, Thea finally emerged from the restroom, holding her slightly rounded belly. She lifted the curtain and saw a pair of shoes outside, thinking it was Patricia.

Worried that Patricia had been waiting too long, she smiled apologetically. "Patricia, the restroom here is so inconvenient. I took a bit longer."

But when she lifted the curtain, she saw not Patricia, but Isabel holding a can of formula. Thea's face turned pale, her eyes fixed on Isabel.

"You... you..." She stared in disbelief at the child in front of her.

The little girl looked so much like Adeline, a miniature version of her.

Thea's breath caught in her throat. Before the girl could speak, Thea lunged forward, grabbing her wrist tightly, her eyes wild.

"Who told you to be here?"
