Chapter 310 Under the Tree, Milo with a Cold Face

As the fireworks exploded in the sky, Grace couldn't help but smile, her face glowing with joy.

The fireworks flickered, and in that dazzling moment, Charles, standing next to Grace, turned to look at her, his deep eyes fixed on her.

Seeing her smile, he couldn't help but smile too.

Meanwhile, outside the villa, under a large tree, a tall man had been standing for quite some time.

The villa's gate was open, and the fireworks in the yard lit up the entire area as they soared into the sky.

The man could easily see the people in the yard, their genuine smiles only making his gaze colder.

After a while, the man reluctantly turned and left.

Everyone in Silverlight City was celebrating, except for Emily, whose Serenity Manor was shrouded in desolation.

The large villa had only one dim light on in the living room, making it look dark and cold.

Under the dim light, the place was a mess, a far cry from its former luxury, as all the valuable furniture was gone.

Emily was lazily leaning on the sofa, wrapped in a coat, with several empty bottles beside her, drowning her sorrows in alcohol.

She exuded loneliness and desolation.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps broke the villa's solitude.

Emily frowned and looked towards the source of the sound.

Through her blurry vision, she saw a tall figure and a stern face. She frowned even more, feeling that the man looked familiar.

She stared at him for a few moments, then fear crept in because of his cold gaze.

Emily's scalp tingled with fear, and she shrank back, warily asking, "Who are you? How did you get in here?"

Milo, with a cold expression, stood by the sofa, his icy gaze on her, and asked in a cold voice, "Let me ask you a question. Do you want to return to your previous life of luxury?"

Emily, drunk and muddled, suddenly brightened up, her face full of eagerness.

She dreamed every day of returning to her life with Charles, where she never had to worry about anything and appeared glamorous in the public eye.

With Charles's status, she was always looked up to by others.

Although she could still appear glamorous now, it was only because she had sold off her luxury items.

If she continued like this, it wouldn't be long before she lived an ordinary life like everyone else!

She didn't want that!

But...

The man in front of her exuded a chilling coldness, looking like a bad guy, which was quite terrifying.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she timidly asked, "I do want that. Do you have a way?"

Milo took a breath, his gaze indifferent as he looked at her. "If you want it, there's a way."

This made Emily instantly excited, urgently saying, "I want it! I really want it! What do you have in mind? I'll do anything if you can get me back to my old life!"

Seeing Emily's anxious expression, Milo raised an eyebrow, remained silent for a few seconds, then said calmly, "You don't need to worry about the method. Just cooperate, and I'll make sure you return to Charles's side."

Hearing Charles's name, Emily's heart fluttered, her eyes brightening.

But then she remembered Charles's cold and decisive demeanor when they parted, and she couldn't help but feel a pang of fear. "Charles is already very disappointed in me. He's cut off all ties with me..."

Mentioning Charles, she couldn't help but feel sad and lost.

Milo's gaze lingered on her, a slight smile playing at the corner of his mouth.

Emily had a good figure, looked decent, and was willing to do anything to achieve her goals—a typical gold digger!

He thought, if there wasn't something special, Charles wouldn't have been so infatuated with her for so many years.

He took a deep breath and asked calmly, "If you want my help, you gotta tell me everything, got it?"

Emily nodded, somewhat understanding.

Then he asked, "Alright, spill it. How'd you meet Charles? Why was he so into you?"

Emily shrank back, asking softly, "Why do you wanna know this?"

Milo, with a cold expression, said, "I need to know the reason to help you better."

Emily, slightly sobered, hesitated and asked, "Who are you? Why are you helping me?"

Emily's distrust made Milo's face darken, and he said coldly, "You don't trust me? Fine, then keep selling your furniture and luxury items."

He paused, then laughed coldly, "If I'm not mistaken, it won't be long before you have nothing left to sell."

His words were like a bucket of cold water poured over her, instantly sobering her up.

She shook her head frantically. No! She didn't want to continue living like this!

She wanted to return to her old life, to appear glamorous in front of everyone.

She couldn't be outdone by those women who used to follow her around!

She wanted to reclaim everything that was hers!

After thinking for a moment, she began to recount, "I remember it was a rainy night. Charles was being beaten by a group of people, almost to death! Later, I found out they were his stepmother's people!"

She paused, then continued, "I happened to witness it and found a way to save him, staying with him all night to take care of him. When morning came, I left, and we didn't meet again for many years."

Milo was puzzled, "You didn't meet again for many years?"

Emily nodded, "Yeah, because that night, we didn't know each other, didn't know each other's names, and it was so dark we didn't even see each other's faces."

Milo continued to ask, "How'd you meet again later?"

Recalling that rainy night, Emily thought for a moment, then said, "That night, maybe he wanted to thank me, so before I left, he gave me a ruby ring. Later, I met Grace and went to a party with her. At the party, Charles saw my ring and recognized me."

Milo quietly watched her, a look of realization in his eyes.

So that was how it was. He never imagined that Emily was Charles's savior, no wonder Charles was so tolerant of her.

Emily was also quite bold, managing to save Charles under the noses of professional killers!

After recounting the past, Emily slowly looked up at him, "I've told you everything you wanted to know. What are you gonna do?"

Milo glanced at her indifferently, "Wait for two days. Someone will text you, and you just need to follow the instructions."

Before Emily could speak, he turned and left.

Seeing Milo about to leave, Emily hurriedly called out, "Can you wait a moment?"

Milo paused but didn't turn around.

Emily took a deep breath and asked, "I've told you so much, who are you?"

Milo laughed coldly and left, the darkness and cold of the night answering her question.

Emily sighed and leaned back on the sofa.

Her thoughts were a mess, but suddenly, she remembered what Octavia had told her about the person behind her.

Octavia had described this big shot as handsome but not very talkative, very mysterious.

She hadn't said much more, but when she mentioned the big shot, Octavia was full of admiration, clearly very afraid of him.

Combining what Octavia had said, Emily seemed to confirm that Milo was the big shot Octavia had mentioned.

She couldn't help but wonder who Milo really was!

Time passed quickly, and she couldn't figure it out no matter how much she thought.

She waved her hand, dismissing it. It didn't matter who he was.

As long as he could help her return to her old life, return to Charles's side, she would do anything!

Milo left, and the villa once again fell into solitude and cold.
