Chapter 306 Divorced, She Is Still My Woman
The night was dark and the wind was cold. Milo stood still, his eyes fixed on Charles, who was also standing nearby, radiating a chilling aura.
Charles and Milo seemed like two opposing mountains, making Grace feel suffocated.
Suddenly, she felt a tingling sensation on her scalp and a chill throughout her body.
She exhaled, bent down to pick up Bianca, and then reached for Jasper's hand.
She looked up at Milo, "Milo, it's late. I'm going to take the kids home."
With that, she shifted her gaze to Charles, felt the coldness in his eyes, and quickly looked away, leading the children to the parking lot.
She found her car and got the kids inside.
Bianca and Jasper sat in the back seat. As Bianca buckled her seatbelt, she asked with wide eyes, "Mom, isn't the bad guy coming with us? Aren't we waiting for him?"
Grace turned to look and saw Charles and Milo still standing there, seemingly needing to talk.
She took a deep breath and replied calmly, "Daddy and Milo haven't seen each other in a long time. They probably have a lot to talk about. We'll go home first."
Bianca nodded, "Okay."
Jasper patted her head, signaling her to sit properly.
Bianca pouted but obediently sat down.
Grace started the car and drove out of the parking lot, soon disappearing into the night.
In the dark and empty space, Charles and Milo remained standing, the cold wind swirling around them.
Finally, Milo spoke first, "Charles, it's been a long time. I didn't expect to meet you here."
Charles's deep gaze fell on him, coldly questioning, "You're a musical genius. Why are you working at an art academy?"
Milo didn't hold back, expressing openly, "It's simple, for her."
Charles's face darkened, and he coldly said, "She's my wife!"
Milo smirked, but his eyes remained cold, "Charles, you seem to be divorced. Divorce means no relationship."
Charles sneered, his tone indisputable, "Divorce or not, she's still my woman. She can't escape from me in this lifetime! She's a woman you'll never have!"
Milo's face turned colder, but he said nothing.
After a long silence, Charles barely suppressed his anger and warned Milo, "Stay away from her. Get rid of any thoughts about her. I'll let it go this time, but if it happens again, I won't spare you!"
The atmosphere grew tense again, with Charles's eyes cold and terrifying.
Milo remained silent, his face even colder than before.
Charles gave him a cold look and turned to leave.
Only when Charles's car drove away did Milo react.
He smirked and said softly, "Sorry, Charles, but this time, you'll be disappointed."
Mia was preparing dinner. Grace and the two kids weren't home, and she didn't know when they'd be back.
So Mia cooked a bit later, thinking they'd eat when they returned.
She had just set the table when a car's headlights lit up outside the villa.
Soon, Grace came in with the two kids.
The kids ran towards the dining room, shouting, "It smells so good."
Grace walked over, looking at the sumptuous dinner, feeling hungry despite having eaten barbecue earlier.
Mia helped the kids take off their coats and smiled, "Be good, go wash your hands, then come eat."
The kids washed their hands and sat obediently at the table.
Grace also walked over and had just sat down when a tall figure approached the table.
Seeing who it was, she frowned, "Charles? What are you doing here?"
Charles came straight over, not even looking at her, and turned to Mia, "Mia, could you set a place for me?"
Mia hesitated, glancing at Grace.
Grace sighed and looked at the kids. She hadn't told them about her divorce from Charles. If she kicked him out now, the kids would be upset. She didn't want to make them unhappy.
So she paused and nodded at Mia.
Mia understood and went to the kitchen to get utensils for Charles.
Charles took off his coat and sat next to Grace.
Grace was speechless. She couldn't stand Charles's smug look and kicked him hard under the table.
This jerk!
The divorce agreement was clear, so why was he here again?
Charles ate his meal, ignoring Grace's kicks, as if he didn't notice.
Grace felt deeply frustrated. She decided not to argue with him and started eating.
But Bianca, curious about everything, stretched her neck and asked, "Bad guy, aren't you busy today? You have time to eat with us?"
Charles smirked and glanced at Grace before answering, "I'm not busy today. From now on, I'll join you for dinner whenever I can."
Bianca's eyes lit up, clearly happy about Charles's presence.
But Grace glared at Charles, losing her appetite.
Charles looked at her with a faint smile, but his eyes were cold.
Bianca noticed her cold look and asked, "Mom, what's wrong?"
Grace replied calmly, "Nothing."
Bianca pouted, "If it's nothing, why are you glaring at the bad guy?"
She had seen it clearly.
Grace forced a smile, "You must be mistaken. I wasn't glaring at him. My eyes were just uncomfortable."
Bianca stared at her eyes, then looked at Charles, still puzzled.
Jasper, who had been quiet, suddenly said, "Bianca, hurry up and eat. The meat is getting cold."
Bianca quickly lowered her head and focused on eating.
Seeing her attention diverted, Grace sighed in relief.
The rest of the meal was quiet and peaceful.
After dinner, Charles remained seated, showing no intention of leaving.
Grace took advantage of the kids' distraction to glare at him several times.
Charles looked at the kids, "Jasper, take Bianca to your room. I need to talk to your mom."
Jasper nodded, "Okay." He took Bianca's hand.
Bianca, curious, asked, "Bad guy, what secret are you going to tell Mom?"
Charles patted her head and smiled, "A secret, of course, can't be easily shared."
Bianca pouted but quickly changed her expression, "Alright, you talk. Jasper and I will go play in our room."
She and Jasper went upstairs to their room.
Mia went to the kitchen to wash dishes, closing the door to give them space.
With everyone gone, the living room was quiet, just Grace and Charles.
The lively atmosphere turned silent.
Grace stood up, instinctively stepping back to keep her distance.
Seeing Charles silent, she took a deep breath and asked coldly, "What do you want to say?"
Charles leaned back in his chair, looking at her calmly, "Come closer, I'll tell you."
Grace shook her head, "No, I can hear you from here. Go ahead."
Charles smirked, silently watching her, not speaking.
Grace frowned and asked coldly, "Say something! What do you want?"
Charles beckoned her with his finger, "Come closer."
Grace pursed her lips, wanting Charles to leave quickly.
She hesitated, then took a step forward.
Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed her wrist.
