Chapter 27
"We'd have to make a stop at a grocery store, I have someone who has been maintaining the cabin though, but there's no foodstuff, so before you see me as food too when you get hungry..."
His joke was interrupted when she smacked his arm.
"I don't eat much” She argued.
His cocked an eyebrow. “Oh really?"
She laughed holding his free hand as he expertly negotiated through the traffic.
They got to the grocery store and walked in hand in hand.
Xavier pulled out one trolley as they moved around the store, she started picking out everything they needed.
She noticed some people's attention were drawn to them, some probably wondering if she was Alisha or Amanda. Some who were pretty much sure she was Amanda didn't waste time in tongue-lashing them.
She sighed heavily.
"I think this is all we need, let's go” He said, noticing she was already affected by the criticism.
Xavier slowly came to a halt at the side of his cabin.
She got down and stared at the beautiful flowers surrounding the little house in admiration.
He walked around the car and scooped her into his arms.
"Let me give you a tour around the house then after that, we'll have a ride on a boat"
She smiled, excitedly. “I love the sound of that"
He hurried towards the house, at the porch, he almost tripped but quickly held her tightly so she wouldn't fall.
They laughed. "Klutz," She teased.
They walked into the cabin then he lowered her down, she smiled staring at the furniture, the chimney and the painting. Everything was comfy and cozy.
"It has two bedrooms, a sitting room, a restroom and kitchen, a river is at the back” He explained.
"How often do you come here before?"
"Just a few times... I love the quiet environment, it gives me some kind of peace"
"I want to see the river” She requested, sweetly.
"Alright, this way” He took her hand and they walked out of the back door.
She gasped seeing a big river, two boats laid at the bay.
"Let's take a ride on the boat” She squealed and ran closer to the bay, taking the paddles.
He laughed, as if she could use the paddle.
She sat on the boat while he pushed it into the river then got on too using two paddles to propel the boat as it continued moving.
"Wow, this is beautiful!" She exclaimed, moving her hand over water.
He couldn't stop smiling at the heartwarming look on her face.
"I'd have suggested we go fishing but I didn't bring any fishing equipment"
She turned to face him.
"What kind of fishes are found here?"
"I've caught herrings, catfish but there was something I saw right here in this river that shook me to the bones"
"What?” She asked, curiously.
"A mermaid"
She frowned. “I thought those weren't real"
"I thought so too, and I had to clean my eyes properly to believe what I was seeing, she had a very long black hair, the tail was practically glowing"
"Wow!” She exclaimed, wishing she could see one too.
"I know right and just when I wanted to take a picture of it, it swam off"
"You weren't fast enough; I wish I could see one” She said looking around.
He snickered.
"What's funny?” Amanda asked.
"What if I told you that all what I just said is a big lie, I didn't see any mermaid, I've never seen one before” He said amidst laughter.
She gasped standing up and moving closer to him. “Xavier! You were so serious about it and I actually thought..."
"Sit, Cara, you're gonna make us..."
Too late, the boat gave way and they fell into the water.
As her head came up, she laughed, and he laughed too.
"What a temper!” He exclaimed.
She splashed water on him.
"Liar!"
"I was only joking; I didn't expect you were that gullible"
She grinned. “Gullible huh? we'll see."
He placed his hand on her hair.
"Let's get out of here before you get too cold” He announced.
She rolled her eyes. “You’re always treating me like a doll"
"You're my doll, my very beautiful and irreplaceable doll” He said dotingly.
She smiled. "Come, I'll beat you to the bay"
He scoffed. "Beat me? Did I mention that I was the best swimmer in high school, I won many mendals for my school, till now... I'm sure..."
"You're such a showoff" She teased laughing.
"I'm not bragging about it; I'm just saying the truth. And if I want to compete with you, we'll maintain a distance, cheating is one of your hobbies"
She laughed. "I don't cheat in eating contests."
"That's because you're a champion...a pro in eating contests." He bowed slightly and added, "Food maniac."
"Come here you” She swam towards him, but he swam off.
And that was how they came swimming out of the river, laughing happily.
Almost an hour later, she was at the kitchen dressed in one of Xavier's shirts.
It reached her mid-thigh, but then it was more preferable to her wet clothes.
She was preparing dinner while he was outside preparing barbecue that she had requested for.
When she was done, she brought down the pot and turned off the gas stove.
She headed outside and heat drenched her cheeks immediately taken in Xavier now dressed in just a pair of joggers, his chest was bare and those hard and impressive muscles of his made her feel so damn horny.
"Hey Bambi" He said in a seductively husky voice noticing her presence.
She smiled and moved closer to him.
She recalled when he said she was gullible, and her smile turned into a smirk.
"SNAKE!" She screamed frantically.
Xavier quickly made her stand behind him ready to attack.
"Where? where is it?"
"In my imagination" She whispered.
His jaw dropped and he turned to face her.
"I really thought..."
She laughed. "Now, who's more gullible?"
"Not fair and it's still you" He fired back laughing.
She wanted to argue with him then saw a slight reddish spot on his finger.
She held his hand.
"This wasn't here before"
"It's just a slight burn, I mistakenly touched the bar..."
"You should've been more careful, who would take care of this when I'm..."She paused unable to complete that.
"When you're what?" He asked, curiously.
"When I'm not around you at that particular moment" She quickly replied.
He smiled dryly still feeling a little bit of doubt that she was going to say something else.
"You'll always be with me, right?"
Her heart squeezed painfully but she nodded.
"Of course"
He brought out a parcel from his pocket.
"I bought this yesterday. I just wanted something that would make it always prove that we are one."
He brought out two rings. She noticed he had disposed his old ring.
He held her hand and slid a ring into her finger then slid the other into his finger. He made their fingers entwined.
"When you feel comfortable enough in Rome, I'd want us to get married again, even if it's a small wedding, I just want you to walk down the aisle to me as Amanda, do you want that too, cara?"
Tears welled up on her eyes.
"Yes" She quickly hugged him before he could read what was going inside her heart in her eyes.
A few minutes later, she was seated on Xavier's laps as they ate dinner, he refused to let her move away, he just wanted her to be in that position and allow her scent to keep assaulting his senses.
She stood up from his laps.
"I have to go do the dishes now" She announced.
"We could do it together" He suggested standing up.
"But..."
He smacked her butt shutting up her protest.
"Xavier" She squealed.
He laughed. "Mine."
As she washed the dishes, Xavier just stood behind her the whole time hugging her.
"Is this your idea of doing it together?" She asked.
He nodded. "Yes."
She chuckled and took a portion of lather then rubbed it on his face.
He moved back instantly.
"What the hell!"
She stuck out her tongue playfully.
"Oh really now?" He moved closer and took some lather.
"Don't..."
He rubbed it on her face and stuck out his tongue too.
"Serves you right, Bambi"
And that was how washing the dishes was forgotten as the lather now went to their faces and body.
"We really do need a bath now!" Xavier exclaimed.
A couple of minutes later they were in the bathtub.
He soaped her back up with a soft sponge. He lathered up her hair with a strawberry scented shampoo.
Amanda felt so good as his fingers massaged her scalp.
She turned around and applied the same services to him.
He flushed out the lather and replaced it with clean water, she leaned into him, both not wanting to break away from this warm embrace.
Lowering her into the bed, he brought his hand to her cheeks and caressed it softly, she closed her eyes and leaned into his gesture, needing his touch more than ever.
He kissed her and waves of heat flowed between her legs. Her fingers fisted on his hair as the kiss deepened, her lips parting with another sound of pleasure. His lips moved over hers in a hungry yet gentle manner while his hands gripped her as if she would disappear.
He moved down and took a nipple into his hungry mouth, her moans of pleasure made him hungrier for her.
His teeth skimmed the bud, his tongue quickly soothing the bite. She whimpered, her fingers pulling at his hair for more, Xavier then moved to the other nipple, his tongue working and swirling around it with the same vigor as he did to the first.
With one last kiss applied to the wet skin, Xavier's tongue slipped down to her navel.
He parted her legs and licked her inner thighs.
She took a deep breath... enjoying the sensation of his breath against her sex. His tongue jotted out and licked her folds.
"Oh" She moaned.
Finding her clit, Xavier gently nipped at the bundle of nerves before his tongue ran circles around it, vigorously.
Her fingers dug into his shoulders; her knees began to buckle.
"You're so sweet, amore," He murmured causing vibrations to rack through her throbbing sex.
His tongue suddenly eased into her entrance, curling its length inside of her.
Her back arched.
"Xavier" She moaned, her eyes welling. His skilled tongue moved in and out of her while his thumb worked on her clit, causing her to shake and writhe from beneath him.
Her legs turned to jelly as an exquisite pleasure washed over her.
He kissed her deeply allowing her to taste her sweetness.
"Xavier... please now" She pleaded, impatiently wanting him to fill her up.
He was on his knees between her legs then he plunged into her, thrusting his shaft into her core, his thick and long phallus stretching her.
"Yes...oh...uhm" She moaned feeling so full.
At first, he moved in and out of her in a slow...deep...sensuous stroke.
"Dio! You feel like heaven" He groaned as he began to move faster, enjoying the feeling of having her warmth wrapped around him.
Each stroke added to the pleasure within her.
Leaning down, he pressed his lips against hers as her moans quietened within his mouth.
Groaning, he grabbed a hold of her hips then started hitting her sweet spot over and over again. She screamed in pleasure.
With a hard thrust, she came undone as her body convulsed around him, shaking as he continued to thrust... prolonging the orgasm.
He skillfully turned her onto all fours. She held the mattress as excitement filled her.
Without warning, he thrust into her again. Each stroke went deep within her as she kept on screaming.
He pulled her up, until her head was at his face, his lips pressed against her ear as he thrust into her.
She could only moan as her eyes fluttered close.
"Say it!" He bit his teeth into her ear as she moaned, her wall clenching around him. His hands traveled to her breasts, squeezing and plucking at her nipples.
An electric pulse shot from her nipple to her clit.
"Ti amo"
Wave of pure electric pleasure spiked through her, her body convulsing as the most amazing orgasm she had ever experienced crashed over her.
Her climax triggered his, he came hard and intensely, and they slumped on the bed, breathing heavily.
After a few minutes of recovery, she snuggled up to him while he wrapped his arms around her affectionately.
"We could stay here as long as you want, cara" He muttered kissing her hair.
She nodded. "I love you... always remember that."
He smiled. "I love you more, Tesoro mio."
Amanda walked out of the bathroom. Tt was the early hours of the morning and Xavier was still sleeping, she was dressed up... ready to leave.
As she stared at him for the last time, tears fell from her eyes. She didn't want to leave... she didn't want to be far away from him, but she had to do this.
She moved closer to the bed and sat down adjacent to him.
"Let me take all the memories with me, erase me from your mind then you'll be able to get through this. I'm sorry, Xavier. I don't want you to have a hard time because of me, I'm not worth risking everything for so please live a nice long life without me." She moved closer and kissed his forehead.
He stirred slightly and she quickly stood up then walked away.
Xavier's eyes opened a little while later, he was slightly disappointed not seeing her close to him on the bed.
Maybe she was preparing breakfast?
He stood up and grabbed a short from the closet, pulling it on, he strode out of the room then to the kitchen, but she wasn't there, it was just the way they had left it the previous day.
And five minutes later, he realized that she was not in the cabin or anywhere around it.
Did she go home? Why would she leave without telling him?
He quickly put on his clothes and hurried out of the house, he got into his car and drove off.
Xavier came down from his car in front of her apartment building, he walked up the stairs, his footsteps halted seeing Miguel coming out of the building.
What the hell was he doing here?
He pushed that thoughts aside, that could wait for later, he walked past him, but Miguel held his arm.
"She left" He announced.
Xavier angrily yanked his hand away.
"What do you mean she left?"
"She told me so herself and called me up to inform the house owner."
"Wh-where did she go to?" Xavier asked unable to comprehend what was happening. He thought they were okay. He didn't do anything wrong yesterday, did he?
"I don't know, she didn't tell me."
"I love you... always remember that."
Was this the reason for these words she said to him.
"Did she take the bus...or train...or plane... please tell me, I can still stop her," he begged.
"Believe me, Xavier. If I knew I would tell you, but I have no clue."
"Why...why would she leave? She gave me another chance. Why would she leave?" He asked. Tears flooded his eyes.
"Don't resent her too much. She thinks this is best for you."
"Best for me?" He asked bitterly.
"Di...did she tell you when she's coming back? I can wait."
"If she had any plans of coming back, would she leave without saying goodbye?"
"Oh." That was all that fell from his mouth. He turned to leave but his legs grew so weak, he sat on the staircase.
As he recalled the previous day, the tears spilled, falling down rapidly.
She was so mean. Why did she make him believe that they were okay when everything was going to blow up in his face the next day?
After all his pleas, she still left...he really wasn't worth fighting for.
He probably won't get to see her again, he wished she had just pushed him away...tell him hurtful words but still be in Rome.
At least even if they weren't together, he would always stop by to see her from afar. But that was impossible now, this was the end of them.
And a lonely life was certain for him.
