Chapter 11 Chapter 11
Sloane
Shivering , I tried to make myself as small as possible. Tucking myself right into the corner of the cage I had been stuffed in and covering as much of myself as I could with the scrap of material I’d found on the floor.
None of it made any difference. The coldness of the flagstone floor seemed to seep into my bones and chill me from the inside out and it didn’t matter how much I tried to tense up, my whole body trembled and shook with uncontrollable shivers.
What had happened to me? Last night I had just been a normal girl, a bit of an outcast but still normal. With a tough but rewarding life and now I was naked in a cage in the bedroom of a werewolf I was pretty sure had been stalking me for years.
I might not ever see my home again?
A sob ripped its way out of my throat. I might not ever see my brother again and without me he would die. I knew that as well as I knew my own name.
My father wasn’t capable of looking after him. He couldn’t even look after himself.
Eirian had snatched me away from everything I knew and his brother had stuffed me in a cage that was too small for even a dog.
Why?
“Hello?” An almost sweet woman’s voice rang out and it was followed by female laughter and chatter. “Ty?”
The sound of the bedroom door shutting made the next sob that fell out of my mouth loud and I had to bite down on my closed fist to stifle it.
“Well,” the curtain was yanked back and a woman stepped into view. Beautiful, curvy, and deadly if the weapons strapped all over her body was anything to go by. “What do we have here?”
Three more women looked over her shoulder. Each one was dressed exactly the same but their hair and faces couldn’t be more different.
The four of them wore matching looks of disgust. Almost like my presence offended them in some way.
A small blonde wrinkled her nose. “He’s brought home another stray. I thought something stank.”
The others laughed and I bristled. I was clean, I took my hygiene very seriously but I probably wasn’t fresh. I’d been about to bathe when Ty had attacked me after all.
“Let’s just get rid of her before he gets back.” Another said but the one in the front remained silent.
I let my eyes meet hers and there was pure hatred in them.
“Silvera.” The blonde whined again. “Don’t you think we should just get rid of her?”
“Possibly.” Full pouty lips thinned. Cocking her head to the side she continued to study me and her nostrils flared. “This one is different.” She said in a hard flat voice and my blood ran cold.
“Do you think?” The three women behind her stepped back. Almost like they were now afraid to get to close to me and that was fine by me. I didn’t want any of those woman near me. Not when I was naked and defenceless in a cage.
“I don’t suggest we stick around and find out.” She reached out a hand but instead of fingernails, a claw erupted from the tip of her fingers and slid into the padlock which opened with a loud click.
Panting heavily I pressed myself so tightly into the corner of the cage that the cold metal pressed against my skin.
“Kill her-“ the one they called Silvera said with a flick of her long dark hair.
“But if Ty-“
She rolled her eyes. “Ty doesn’t even know what day of the week it is. Every one saw him last night. He will just think he lost it and killed her like all the other times.”
My blood ran cold? Did they just say like the last time? Had these women been killing humans and letting Ty believe he was the culprit?
“Stay away from me.” I gritted out, lifting my small fists threateningly.
Their laughter bubbled up, mocking me as they crowded close.
“Oh the human can talk. Here little human?” On her hand and knees the blonde crawled forward. “Come on out and play with us. We promise we will be gentle.”
“Leave me -“
“Get out now.” One moved so quickly that she was nothing more than a blur lifted the cage. Something she shouldn’t be able to do and tried shaking me out. I clung to the sides and screamed as claws ripped through the space between the bars and sliced my skin.
“Let go and we will make it quick.” Silvera said with a laugh. “One clean slice across your throat. It will be a mercy really-“
“Fuck you. Eirian?” I screamed again, louder this time. If Eirian had brought me here just so I could be murdered by some actual bitches, I was going to haunt him forever. “Eirian, Tywyll. Help.” I screamed again and one of my feet was cut and slipped. I fell down towards their waiting claws with a weird sort of gargle.
This was how I was going to die. At the hands of she wolves who wanted to rip me apart for no other reason than I was human.
“Ty-“ my scream cut off as a burning hot hand closed around my ankle and pulled me down.
“Oh you call them Eirian and Ty huh?” Silvera stood there and laughed. “You must think you are so special. Well guess what. You aren’t. You’re just a pathetic stinking human.” She spat and a thick glob landed on my stomach. “You’re not special to them human, they aren’t coming to save you.”
A dark blur shot out of nowhere. Reaching the blonde who was still grabbing me, there was an arc of blood that coated me before she fell to the side and a hand closed around Silvera's throat and lifted her off for the floor.
Her legs kicked as he squeezed her windpipe.
“You are so wrong, Silvera. So very wrong.”
