Update

My dear readers,

I should have wrote this month's ago but I have neglected you, and for that I apologize.

I have not written any chapters in a few months as things have happened in my life that have prevented me from doing what I love most, writing.

Back in November of 2020, a man who my mom once dated over 7 years ago and who is ultimately the father to 2 of her children (we all lived together in a farm house.) He threatened our lives with an active chainsaw in our own home.

I was completely terrified and traumatized, I still am, I still have nightmares.

I was the one who called the cops.

I was so terrified that I couldn't form complete, coherent words.

That day I woke up to find he had once again locked my mom out of the house, she was in a bathrobe and slippers in the dead of winter. She was pounding on the door and demanding to be let in, we didn't have the key to the house as it was an old harm house that required skeleton keys.

I went down stairs with my dogs and asked why he had locked her outside again.

He answered because he could. He was on his way back to his livingroom as he intended to leave her out there. I put down my dirty dishes to the counter as the door that lead outside was in the kitchen.

He turned around and went to the locked door and unlocked it only to hold it closed to prevent her from entering.

I approached and grabbed the frame of the door and forced it open, fighting against him.

I forced it open and got my mom inside, he proceeded to push her against a shelf that we had beside the front door. There was chaos ensued.

I grabbed him by the shoulders and pushed him away from my mom. My dogs were barking at him and my baby boy jumped up and bit him as he had laid his hands on me and pushed me.

My dog was defending both myself and my mom when he bit Kyle. Kyle then proceeded to kick my dog in the stomach with his steel toed boots repeatedly. It was because of this that I grabbed him and forced him towards his livingroom, keeping him away from my already harmed dog. He was fighting against me to get to my dog and harm him more. I didn't allow this.

This is when he grabbed the chainsaw from the freezer and reveed it multiple times until it started and held it to both my mom and I who was beside me at that point.

He was telling us to get away from him and to get out of his house (it wasn't just his house, we were all lease holders with our own leases)

The chainsaw was a mere few inches away from us and thankfully it died out. When it died out he threw it onto the freezer and went into his livingroom.

It was after this when I ran upstairs, shaky and terrified.

I made sure my dogs were safe with me and then I called the police.

The police took him away, he was charged with 2x intent to use a weapon and 2x assault.

The police couldn't hold him due to Corona and thus released him that very day. He chose to say with a friend who lived a 5 min drive away from us.

We were all terrified, me, my mom, and my 3 younger siblings who are all under the ages of 13.

My 13 year old sister who thankfully isn't his child couldn't sleep as she was scared he would come back during the night when we're all asleep.

We left within the week, family thankfully took is in and we grabbed what we could and left. We left behind a lot of stuff, I even had to leave behind my bed which wasn't even a year old yet.

We are all traumatized. We are fighting. And we are struggling to live our lives.

We are still technically homeless as we haven't found our own place yet but we are looking. The housing market is shit right now with covid. But we have a roof over our heads and food in our stomachs and we are very thankful to our family who took is in when they didn't have to.

This is why I haven't been able to write.

Another matter now, is that I just discovered that I may have cancer.

I discovered I have a 3.5cm cyst on my ovary with solid components. Which means I may have cancer.

I'm waiting on a call to book me in for an mri, and I have an appointment at the cancer center in a few weeks.

If you wish to contact me you can find my FB account named Korra Lacroix. Its there for my readers to reach out to me. I'll be more then happy to answer any questions regarding my personal life or my books. I'm here if you want to talk to me.

I love you all, I hope you know that.

Korra.
