24. Roman Calls

Kiran watched as he spoke on the phone.

What the hell just happened to her?! She quickly made her way back to the front of the diner and continued with her chores when she was interrupted.

Henry finished his call and soon came towards her.

He was over the moon about knowing she was his mate. Now all he had to do was come clean, about who he really was. Although, he knew he needed more time to tell her the truth. He didn't wish to spring the truth on her that quickly, he had to break his supernatural truth to her slowly. Moreover, Henry was internally afraid, that she'd reject him.

Besides, she'd seen him kill her ex in his true form.

No. He couldn't let her know. Not now, at least.

"Kiran I..."

"I need you to leave Mr Morretti." She said opening the door and giving him a firm look, surprising him.

"What?"

"Now, before I call the cops on you." She fired.

"Wait, Kiran I don't understand?"

"There is nothing to understand here. Please, just go Henry." She said doing her best to bury her feelings for him.

With his phone ringing out again, Henry sighed.

"I'll see you again."

"No you won't."

"Excuse me?" He looked at her a little annoyed.

"You heard me. I want nothing to do with you, so just go." Kiran pushed him out the door and slammed the door in his face, quickly locking it shut.

Kiran had no idea that Henry was pissed at her rejecting him. She had no idea, what he'd do to win her love. But now, since he was in a bad mood, Henry walked away from the entrance door and wished to release his frustration and fury in another way.

He pulled out his phone and answered his beta.

"Where the f^ck are those rogues?"

A couple of days later.

Kiran was out serving coffee to her regulars.

"Hey, Julie can you turn that up?" Asked one of the local truckers who sat by the bar, and was watching some female reporter on the news.

"Sure." The part-time waitress grabbed the remote and turned up the volume.

*' I'm standing outside the Blue Mountains Peaks where four bodies of four men were found by a local hiker. The police have closed off the mountain which is a popular tourist destination in town. The forensic science team have confirmed that the men who were found dead in a pretty gory way, are said to be attacked and mauled by wolves...'*

Kiran eyes landed on the female reporter who reported the gruesome news.

"Wolves? You have to be kidding. Our town does not have wolves."

"We have a lot of mountain lions though..."

The truckers spoke amongst themselves.

Her mind travelled back to the time when she saw the huge wolf attack her ex-boyfriend. Chills went down her spine as she recalled the huge beast that chased after her. She was pretty sure it wanted her dead too. Thankfully she'd managed to escape it and hide out in that log, that time before Henry found her.

After her shift was over, Kiran headed out. She soon heard a giggle by the wall of her cafe and as she darted her eyes towards that sound, she saw Connor the cook hugging a girl. Looks like he'd found himself a girlfriend. She averted her eyes away from the couple and made it to her car. Before she headed home, she decided to stop by the hospital.

She'd brought flowers for Kathy's mother.

The poor girl was off work due to her mother's health.

"Thanks for taking care of Kathy, Kiran." Her mother said with her wrinkly pale blue eyes, whilst laying on the bed. She was on a drip and seemed like she'd lost a lot of weight.

"Well, she's a hard worker." Kiran smiled.

The nurse then came in to jab her for her nutritional shot. Kathy and Kiran then excused themselves outside the room.

"How are you holding up?" Kiran asked.

"To be honest, not well. The doctor said I'll need to prepare myself because the next heart attack could be fatal." Kathy teared up and Kiran consoled her in hold.

"I mean, she's not my birth mother."

"What?"

"Rose, adopted me when I was seven years old from the orphanage. I don't know anything about my real parents, but she's all I've got as a family in this world."

"Hey, don't say that. You've got me too now Kathy." Kiran said reassuring her.

After spending some time with her dear colleague, Kiran then made it back home to her apartment. She dropped her cardigan by her couch and when she came to her room, she was stunned to see a box lying on her bed. She carefully unwrapped the box and was surprised to see an elegant-looking deep magenta dress inside the box.

"What the heck?" She muttered to herself.

Suddenly her phone rang out, startling her.

It was from an Unknown number.

She was going to have a piece of her mind if this was **Stalker** calling her up again.

"Hello?"

**"Kiran, how are you beautiful?"**

To her surprise, it wasn't.

"Roman?"

**"I'm glad you remembered me."**

How could she not, after what he'd put her through? Kiran's heart pounded wildly in her chest as she thought about the wild sensual things he'd done to her, not to mention kill those guys in the alleyway who tried to kidnap her. Moreover he'd threatened to kill Henry when he'd come to his territory to save him. This guy was a bad as devil himself. She hadn't been able to sleep for days when she got back.

"What do you want!"

**"Did you like the dress I sent you?"**

"No!"

**"Too bad, I'm still going to see it on you though."**

"No, you're not I'm not wearing it you psycho!"

**"Now, now princess don't get upset with me, I rang to personally invite you to my party which is a week from now."**

Kiran scoffed.

"That's great Roman have fun, because I'm not coming." She seethed making him chuckle over the line.

**"I can always make you."**

He spoke shooting her with his sexual innuendo, aggravated Kiran rolled her eyes.

"Roman I'm not going to be bait again. Look, whatever this is I don't want to get involved with you or Henry for that matter."

**"Are you saying that you're not going out with Henry?"**

"Why would I after I found out that you two are dangerous gangsters!"

Roman nodded, in response.

**"We're not just gangsters sweetheart, we're powerful Alphas."**

"What's that?"

**"Why don't you come to my party and find out?"**

Kiran nervously gulped. What would he do to her, if she did? Her face heated up and a silly throb at her core started. Oh no, had wild Roman had an effect on her like that? Stay strong Kiran, don't let him get to you!

"Ha! No thank-you. Like I said, Roman, I don't wish to get involved with you, besides didn't you mention that if I ever came to your territory, then you'd never let me go or some crazy $hit like that?"

Roman grinned.

**"Oh, you remebered? True I did say that. Look, if it'll keep you at ease I'll let you return back. I really wish to see you again, and besides I need to tell you something."**

"Like what?"

**"I'm hard for you right now, talk dirrrtyy to me baby."** He slurred making her face crimson many colours of red.

"Oh, gross! I'll slap you're flithy d!ck off if you ever threaten me like that, you sick pervert!"

She snapped making him laugh over the line.

**"Kidding sweetheart, I promise I'll behave, besides I need to tell you something about Henry. I'm guessing he hasn't let you on his secret yet?"**

Kiran was curious. What was Roman talking about? No! He's a manipulative guy! Don't fall for his tricks Kiran. She mentally scolded herself.

"Whatever his secret may be, I don't wish to know Roman."

**"Yes, you do. In fact, princess I'll just let you know half of the truth right now, Henry was the one that killed your ex-boyfriend."**

Kiran burst out laughing. He's seriously lost it.

**"What's so funny?"**

Roman asked in his serious toned voice.

"You're a liar Roman. Henry did not kill my ex-boyfriend, a wolf did."

**"Exactly, and guess who that wolf is?"**

Kiran scrunched her eyebrows in puzzlement, not understanding a word he said.

"Roman, look thank you for your dress, it's a lovely gift. But I've had a long day at work and I'm really, really tired and right now you're not making any sense to me Roman." Kiran sighed.

**"Come to my party and I'll make sense to you."**

"Roma---" She protested but then he abruptly cut the call making Kiran infuriated. There was no way she'd ever go back to his territory. Absolutely no way.
