Monsters at the Gate

Monsters at the Gate
Violet lay silent on her belly as she felt Kagan’s fingers trailing across her sweat drenched body, as his tongue followed the path of her spine before he grabbed her hips once more. She clenched a hand in the sheets a move she knew that would please Kagan thinking she did it in pleasure, but it was in revulsion as he took his pleasure once more on her body. The sound of flesh slapping flesh loud in the silence of this room. This room that was more prison then bedroom. A prison that she would soon be rid of, just like today would be the last day she would have to know his vile touch, his always searching tongue, the pain of his teeth as it bit into her pale white skin.

The skin she knew he adored. So much, that he made sure she never had to do anything that would mar that pretty skin. But how she longed to destroy that skin, to darken it in the sun. For it to weather into wrinkles and flabs of skin with age. She wanted to be mortal, more than anything. To see the sun, feel the soft breezes of summer, to feel the spray of the water on her skin. The sway of a boat underneath her feet. And more than anything the callous touch of a blacksmith’s hands. She wondered if Ettrick would dare make the journey to this world. If she could bare to see him after all these years being forced to endure the life of Kagan’s wife.

She hoped more than anything for his pain, as waves of pleasure rocked her once more, against her will. Her voice echoing the room in a breathless scream. As Kagan knew very well what caused her pleasure as he sucked a mark on her neck. The same place where her death wound had been if he’d had the mercy to allow her to die rather than be his toy.

He pulled out of her finally satisfied, bending down to kiss her forehead as if in thanks, as he put on a silk robe, and made his way to the bath. Violet wiped the tears of hate, before she joined him as she knew she must. As she walked past the door, she saw through the diamond window a lone figure sneaking into the castle. She knew that gait slightly deformed as if he had trouble walking on his legs.

Ettrick was here.

She joined her husband, a smile on her face knowing that her pain was almost over.

Kagan sat in the bath, Violet draped over him, satisfied. He knew that a portal had been opened and knew his prize would soon be here. Shazir was a powerful sorcerer with the Dragon’s magic, and even with it gone he would be a valuable asset in his army. As he stroked his wife’s supple skin he pondered at his army. They had grown into adults, perhaps a new harvest of children would be needed. Finding superior assets like Shazir was a good boon, but it wasn’t sustainable. He would need a better army if he did intend to stay in this realm of monsters.

His ears perked up suddenly as footsteps stormed up the tower where he lived. He stood in the bath, Violet turning slightly as he rose. “Stay.” He commanded, as he swept his robe and walked into his bedroom just as the pounding began.

He opened the door with his magic, the flute flying into his hands in the action. His men stood arrested on the door their eyes pale. “What is it!” he demanded.
“There’s been a breach!” one of the men shouted.

“There are monsters at the gates.”

“Get the men and women warriors to their posts.” He shouted, as he magicked clothes on himself, grabbing his own sword. “Violet!” he barked. “Stay in the tower.”

Violet leaned in the doorway as she watched him leave, a smirk on her lips. “As if.” She snarked, before she bent down under the bed and pulled out a black chest. She pulled on the leather suit within its depths, and the armor that went over it, before grabbing her bow, and quiver.

“Sister mine, where are you?”
