THE IMPOSSIBLE CAN BE ACHIEVED
Chapter 182.
Claudia's pov.
“Ending a feud that has been passed down for generations? It's not going to be easy you know,” my eyes glued to hers as she sat behind her desk, you could see the heaviness in her eyes.
The dark circles that showed how much she had worried about this issue and she hasn't even been in charge for that long, “I just don't want what has happened to repeat itself again,”
“And if I have the power to stop it, then I would do everything to,”
I nodded my head in agreement, proud that she was taking the right measures which only suggested what a good leader she would have been instead of Croft from the very beginning.
My mother began sorting the papers one after the other, “Although I have sent a few invitations, but only gotten a few responses, some of them good, others.
…….not so much,”
She explained that both witches and werewolves did not agree to that idea.
“They live in fear of the chaos that a gathering could bring, and I understand that but ... .if only they could just give this a chance,”she stressed out even more.
Sadly, there was nothing that I could come up with that could be of assistance, like she said, their fear was understandable.
We remained in silence for a while before my mother released a breath when out of nowhere I thought about the pack I had come from, “What about the seaside pack? Did they accept your invitation?”
I didn't want to believe what Warren had stated earlier about no response but my mother just confirmed it.
“It's been silent from their end for almost a month now,”
That really didn't sound like something Reagan would do, knowing who he was, he more than anyone should have been more eager to answer.
“How about I go over there?”
My mother was already shaking her head, “no, no, Claudia, you just woke up, you need time to heal and….”
“I already had a month to heal, I'm fine, it would be alright, besides we do need to find out what happened, they have been waiting for a response from us for a long while now,” I countered.
My mother didn't seem to agree however, staring at the papers in front of her, “It's dangerous, what if something happens?”
I cut he roff before she could finish, “Nothings going to happen mum, We've eliminated the threat, it's safe now, and I might as well be of help the best way I can,” I dropped my gaze to the ground remembering how my powers have now been lost.
My mother pushed away from her seat, rounding her desk to approach me, he rhanss cupped my cheeks while her eyes scanned my face, “I…I just don't want to lose you…..for any reason,”
“You won't,” I placed my hands over the one she had on my cheek, “I promise.
My mother sighed, and i knew I had won, “But you are leaving with a few guards,”
A few guards, “what am I? Some princess?”
“Technically dear, you are,” gesturing to the place that we stood in.
I remembered the story of how they were all leaders and I couldn't help but face palm in my mind, “so I indeed was a princess, great,”
“But guards are a bit too much don't you think?”
“Well you have to go protected, you're not leaving until you agree to go with someone,” she finished dropping her hands from my cheeks and heading back to my seat.
If I had my powers, perhaps none of this would have been an issue, I mean, I was still a werewolf, wasn't I? “fine, if I must take someone, how about Warren and keto,” shrugging my shoulders.
My mother contemplated the idea for a few seconds longer before finally giving in, “Fine, you can break the news to them, when do you intend to leave?”
“Immediately,”
My mother was visibly surprised at my eagerness to leave, and a slight worry shone in her eyes as well yet she refreiamed from saying anything.
The reason I wanted to leave was because I was worried, but also because I didn't want to sit back and watch how everyone was being if help and I couldn't do anything.
Yes, they might all praise me for saving them but that wasn't the case, it only reminded me of what I had lost, and I didn't want to be constantly reminded of that.
I made my decision, was it worth it?
Yes.
Did I regret it?
No.
But did I miss that part of me that I had lost?
Absolutely.
Now that I can finally make myself useful, I wasn't going to just sit back especially because this is directly involved with me. I had made a promise to find a cure for them.
Althought it seems like I have failed, the least I could do was at least tell them that.
Tell them that I couldn't find what they wanted and that I was sorry for abandoning them.
Leaving then in the dark wasn't an an option.
“Alright then, I should be heading out then,” I announced, taking the step to leave until mh mother's voice held me back.
I sound on my heels I'm confusion, wondering what else she would want to say to me, “Before you leave, can you do me a favour?”
I waited patiently for her to continue, “Can you speak with your father?” Her eyes were filled with hope snd anticipation.
Since I had found him, neither of us had a meaningful conversation.
I pressed my lips into a fine, I didn't really think there was anything wrong with speaking with him, I just, didn't know what to say.
“Sure, why not,”
My mother signed and a shadow of a smile graces her lips, “Thank you dear,”
With that, I was out of her office and in my way to see Warren and Keto, and maybe even my father.
