THE DEATH SPELL

THE DEATH SPELL
Chapter 172.

Claudia's pov.

What the hell was that?

I wondered if this was as a result of the spell, but I doubted so. The air had been knocked out of my lungs, and my already healing wounds reopened once more.

My arm was twisted at an awkward angle which I had to snap back harshly, pain rippled through me earnestly forcing me to bite down hard on my teeth.

Sitting up on the dirt, I glanced around in panic, trying to figure out what had happened because I knew the spell hadn't been completed yet, I could feel it.

I pushed the hair that fell into my face just to see the two girls had been blasted away as well, and standing in that pentagon circle.

“Sage!”

What a grand entrance, I wondered how long she had been planning that. I knew she wouldn't let us have our way, I just wondered why it took her so long to show herself.

She didn't even make an appearance when Croft died, although that was to my advantage.

The smirk on her face was bright, “What? Surprised to see me?”

I scoffed, a fit of cough tore out of me until I controlled it, “Not even in the slightest,”

Despite the pain, I dragged myself up to my feet and was ready for her attack, my muscles were fatigued, my vision blurred as I had exhausted most of my energy on my battle with croft.

And a little bit of it was drained out by the reversal spell.

“I have to commend you for a job well-done, if you hadn't done it, I would have taken the fool out myself,”

My brows furrowed; was she talking about Croft? “HE was your partner in crime, you were also going to betray him the same way you betrayed your coven?”

Why am I not surprised?

I was trying to get under her skin, get her riled up. Only in anger can one make a blunder and that was exactly what I needed.

An ironing that I could use to take her out and finish this spell once and for all.

Sage shrugged, “Well, they would thank me later once I'm done here,”

What the hell is she talking about now? What is she about to do?

“They wouldn't, you are causing havoc, and pain and all for what?” I spat bitterly.

The amount of people that have had to die all because of what. Because of her need to rule? Her need to prove herself? To whom?

Sage shrugged, “I don't need you to understand,” her voice dropped with venom, “Jacob was right,”

Jacob.

They had worked together at some point.

“Werewolves do not deserve to exist, they are vile creatures, abominations to this world and if we don't rid them now, they would hunt us one by one until none of us are left,”

That was how she felt.

The hatred burned in her eyes as she sent a telepathic slap to the side, knocking one of the witch girls unconscious and throwing a wolf that was about to pounce on her away.

My heart leaped for them.

But I didn't take my gaze away from sage for more than a second.

“The wolves must have done something to you to make you hate them this much, Jacob couldn't have transferred his aggression just like that,” I noted out loud.

Sage chuckled, clapping her hands, “You really do fit the chosen one title,

“And yes, they did, those monsters touched my mother, tore her into bits in their fit of rage like she was a rage doll,”

My eyes widened in shock and heart trembled.

“Limb from limb, her head severed, all of this right in front of me,” her eyes staring into space as if she could remember the very day of her mother's death, “All because they had given feral for a night, they couldn't control themselves,”

I could understand her pain, I really did. At such a young age, no one deserves to go through such pain. My heart softened.

But that didn't excuse the fact that she was paying the world and those who are innocent with vengeance.

“After what they did to Jacob, both of us decided we weren't going to let anyone of you live, you all disgust me and now I was going to finish what he started,”

Finish what he started?

Before my mind could wrap around her words, my body levitated and I was propelled towards her and in an instant, the wind slapped me furiously and before I knew it, I was in Sages hold.

Her hands wound around my neck and tightened gradually, her srtenght didn't match her small frame in the least.

My strength was not enough to even wiggle away from her grip as I struggled, choking on my own breath like a force was drawing the air from my lungs.

I clawed at her hands with my good hand but it was futile.

Sage slammed me to the dirt harshly. My vision blurred, a deafning crack shattered the air and I didn't know how much if this I could take any longer. My breathing was shallow, coming out in wheezes, my vision blurred as I stared at the night sky.

“What…..what are you…..doing?” I choked out, thick metallic taste of blood splitting out my lips.

My eyes fought to remain open and I felt like every bone in my body was being broken and repaired in milliseconds.

Sages muffeld figure stood above me, “Well, I'm about to complete what you started this night,”

“But I can assure you, every wolf on this earth is going to feel it……….and then they won't,”

My eyes widened in shock as I realised what she meant by finishing what Jacob started.

She was going for the death spell.

The same one we were about to enact but she was going to complete it and have all the wolves not just lose their other half, but also lose themselves in the process.
