Chapter 113 The chase

Chapter 113 The chase

Melissa’s POV

The restaurant was very beautiful to look at. Before I met Gavin I hardly had any reason to go to such fancy places and now I have gone to so many I've lost count.

It made me realize how bad things with Jason were. I had to buy most of the food we ate whenever we went out and most times he would even yell at me when I didn’t have enough.

I turned my head, throwing Troy out of my mind, that was when I noticed the restaurant was completely empty.

My heels clicked against the marble floor as we walked inside. The sound echoed in the silence.

“Gavin?” I stopped, looking around. “Why is no one here?”

“I wanted to eat properly,” he said simply.

I turned to face him. “Where’s the food? Are we going to prepare it ourselves?”

He smiled softly and began to walk toward me slowly. I moved back slightly, my pulse quickening.

His eyes…God, his eyes held so much hunger. Not for food. For me.

I gulped.

“I wanted to wait a bit,” he said, his voice dropping lower. “But I can’t anymore, piccola. I want you now.”

My face felt like it would melt from how hot it felt. He reached me. His hands came to my waist, pulling me flush against him.

“Gavin…”

His mouth found mine. In a hot damaging way.

I melted into him, my hands coming up to grip his shoulders.

He kissed me like he was starving and I was the only thing that could satisfy him. His tongue brushed against mine slowly, he bit my bottom lip slowly before moving to bite the top. Pulling it slightly before using his tongue to sooth it.

His hands moved to the buttons of my blouse. One by one, he undid them, his fingers brushing against my skin with each release.

“Beautiful,” he murmured against my lips.

He pushed the fabric off my shoulders. It fell to the floor with a whisper of silk.

His mouth moved to my neck, kissing, nipping, marking me as his while his hands worked at the zipper of my slacks.

They pooled at my feet. I stepped out of them, now standing in just my underwear and heels.

Gavin pulled back to look at me. His eyes raked over my body with such intensity I felt it like a physical touch.

“You are so beautiful,” he said, his voice rough. “So innocent. Something about you makes me want to chase you.”

There was something in his expression that made my heart race faster. A darkness that was both terrifying and exhilarating.

He reached behind me. Unclasped my bra and let it fall. Then his fingers hooked in my panties. Slide them down my legs.

I was completely naked now and trembling slightly. But not from the cold. The sexual tension was too much. I didn't know how I could handle it. I didn’t know what to do with my body.
And the way he was looking at me like I was prey.

Like he was a hunter who’d finally cornered what he’d been chasing.

A tear slipped down my cheek. I raised my hand to touch it gently, wiping it away. My swollen lips quivered. From wanting him so badly it hurt.

From the knowledge that this man…this powerful, dangerous man…wanted me just as desperately.

“Run, Melissa.”

The command was soft. But the look in his eyes was anything but.

I turned and ran from pure fear. My bare feet slapped against the marble floor as I raced through the empty restaurant. Past tables set for guests that would never arrive. Past the bar with its rows of expensive bottles. Past the kitchen doors.

My heart pounded. My breath came in gasps.

I could hear him behind me. The scary thing is he wasn’t chasing me yet he was just walking confidently. He knew he’d catch me eventually.

I turned a corner, and found a hallway lined with doors. I tried one. Locked. Another. Locked.

The third opened.

I slipped inside, pressing my back against the wall. Trying to quiet my breathing.

Then I heard slow footsteps in the hallway. “Piccola,” Gavin’s voice called out. Amused. “You can’t hide from me.”

I bit my lip to keep from making a sound.

The footsteps paused.

There’s nowhere you can go that I won’t find you.”My pulse thundered in my ears.

A door opened. Not mine. Then another.

Getting closer.

“And when I find you…” His voice was right outside my door now. “I’m going to make you scream my name until you forget every other word in your vocabulary.”

The door handle turned.

I bolted. Pushed past him before he could grab me. I ran back toward the main dining room.

His laughter followed me. It was rich and dark and full of promise. I wish I could see his face as he laughed so loud how heavenly it would look. But not now.

I was halfway across the dining room when strong arms caught me around the waist.

“Gotcha.”

He lifted me off my feet. Spun me around. Pressed me back against the nearest table.

I was breathing hard. He was barely winded.

“You run beautifully,” he murmured, his hands on either side of me, caging me in. “Like a deer. All grace and panic.”

“Gavin…”

“But you’re not a deer, are you?” He leaned in close. His lips brushed my ear. “You’re my little bunny. And I’m the wolf who’s been hungry for far too long.”

A shiver ran through me.

His mouth found mine again. Harder this time. More demanding.

He lifted me onto the table. The white tablecloth crumpled beneath me. Silverware clattered to the floor.

I didn’t care.

His hands were everywhere. My thighs. My waist. My breasts. Learning every curve, every sensitive spot.

I gasped against his mouth when his fingers found exactly where I needed them.

“That’s it,” he whispered. “Let me hear you.”

I arched into his touch. My hands fisted in his hair.

“Gavin, please…”

“Please what, piccola? Use your words.”

“Please…I need…”

“Tell me.” His fingers stilled. “Tell me what you need.”

“You,” I breathed. “I need you.”

He smiled against my neck. “Good girl.”
