Chapter 6 MINE
Dominic's POV
I couldn't focus on anything. The quarterly reports sat in front of me but my mind kept drifting to her
Ava.
I could almost remember everything about her. Her face when she came. The echoes of the sounds she made kept on lingering in my ears. The tilt of her head. The hesistant curve of her lips. I could remeber the way her body responded to every touch as if it was a minute ago. Every detail of my encouter with her played over and over in my head.I tried much but i could'nt shake it. Ava had rooted herself inside my thoughts.
"Sir, the Tokyo deal needs your signature."
Adrian said as he placed papers on my desk. I signed them without reading.
"You're distracted," he said.
"I'm fine."
"You're thinking about her."
I looked up sharply. "Don't."
"You marked her. Didn't you?"
I didn't answer as I didn't need to. Adrian had been with me long enough to know the signs. He saw that my walks towards the floor to the ceiling window, hands in the pockets, Adrina knew that i couldn't let it go.
"The Council will find out." he carefully warned.
"Let them."
"Dominic..."
"She's mine." The words came out harder than I meant, they echoed in the office like an inevtable vow.
"I don't care what the Council thinks." I added.
Adrian was quiet for a moment.
"You've never marked anyone before. In all the years I've known you."
"I know."
"Do you even understand why you did it?"
I looked down at my hands and I could still smell her on my skin even though I'd showered twice.
"Because the moment I saw her, something in me just knew she's mine."
"Humans aren't meant to be marked. The bond will grow and it'll consume you both." He reminded me.
"I know the risks." I stood and walked to the window.
"It's done. She's marked. The bond is already forming." I said with a tone of finality.
"Can you feel her?"
I nodded slowly.
Even now, I could sense her emotions. Not clearly yet, but they were there. It was relief, guilt and something else that made my body respond; desire.
She was thinking about me, about what we did.
My hands gripped the window frame strongly all of a sudden.
"She's at the hospital," I said.
"With her mother."
"How do you know that?"
"The bond. I can feel her location and her emotions. It's faint but it's there."
Adrian moved beside me.
"This is dangerous. You know that. The bond will only get stronger. In a few weeks, you'll feel everything she feels. Know everything she thinks."
"Good."
"Good? Dominic, if the Council finds out you've bonded with a human..."
"Then they'll have to deal with it." I turned to face him.
"I want you to find out everything about her. Where she lives, where she goes, her routine and everything."
"You're going to stalk her?"
"I'm going to see her again. And she's going to say yes to me."
Adrian sighed but pulled out his phone.
"I'll have a full report by this afternoon."
After he left, I sat back at my desk.
I opened my laptop and searched for her mother's hospital. It was Mount Sinai at room 437. She is Elena Scott with a stage 3 cancer whose treatment approved this morning.
I picked up my phone and made a call.
"This is Dominic Hayes. I want to make a donation to Mount Sinai Hospital for patient Elena Scott specifically. Whatever treatment she needs, all expenses covered. Do send the bills to my office."
The hospital administrator stuttered thanks and I hung up.
Ava had given herself to me to save her mother. The least I could do was make sure that sacrifice meant something.
But that wasn't the only reason. I was doing it because she was mine now, and I took care of what belonged to me.
My phone buzzed and it was a text from Adrian with attachments. I opened the file and it included her address, a small apartment in Queens and her work schedule at the club. Her mother's medical history, her financial situation before last night.
There was also information about her routine. She visits a coffee shop, the same one every Saturday morning. The same me order and the same corner seat.
Today was Friday, meaning tomorrow I'd run into her and make it seem like coincidence.
And then we'd see if one night was really enough for her.
My phone buzzed again and it was an unknown number. It says;
The Council knows about the marked human and they're not pleased.
I deleted the message because I didn't care about the Council and I also didn't care about their rules or their warnings.
Ava was mine and d nothing was going to change that.
I tried to go back to work but couldn't as my mind kept drifting back to her.
I was still trying to sort out some files on my tablet when I felt a sudden spike of pleasure and my body went rigid.
She was touching herself and thinking about me while she did it. I could feel her arousal building a I could feel the moment she...
My jaw clenched as my cock was hard and throbbing.
One night wasn't enough, bot even close. I needed her again, I needed to taste her, to touch her myself and make her mine over and over until she couldn't think of anything else.
Adrian came back an hour later.
"The report's complete. Everything you asked for." He said as he walked closer to my table.
"Good."
"Dominic." His voice was careful.
"Are you sure about this? Once you go down this path..."
"I'm already down it. There's no going back."
He nodded slowly. "Then at least be smart about it. Make her an offer she can't refuse."
"What do you mean?"
"Her mother needs ongoing treatment, it and expensive treatment. Offer to cover all of it, in exchange for an arrangement."
"An arrangement."
"Regular access and exclusivity. Make it transactional, clean and legal even."
I considered it. "A contract."
"Exactly. That way the Council can't say you've bonded inappropriately. It's just business."
But it wasn't just business, not for me.
Still, Adrian was right. A contract would protect us both.
"Draw one up with standard terms. Six months to start, all medical expenses covered, plus a monthly allowance."
"How much" he was trying to think of an amount before I said.
"Ten thousand a month."
Adrian's eyebrows rose.
"That's generous." He said
"I don't want her to have any reason to walk away." I replied.
"And if she says no?"
"She won't."
Because I could feel it through the bond that she wanted me as much as I wanted her.
She just didn't know it yet.
My phone buzzed and another message from the unknown number.
This is your last warning, end it with the human or face consequences.
I looked at the message for a long moment, then I blocked the number. Even though it meant danger In all parts.
The Council could threaten all they wanted, Ava was mine now, and I was keeping her.
No matter what it cost
