Chapter 105 I'll follow you to hell

Killian

I started making arrangements to go back to the city that evening to look for Raven, but unfortunately, my flight got cancelled because of that stupid weather forecast, and I was delayed for another two days.

Two fucking days!

I have never been this frustrated in my life. At this rate, I started contemplating getting a private jet.

All in all, I reached the city by morning after a rough flight. I sent my driver to my house to drop off my things while I rushed over to the hospital.

Raven should be at work by now.

I was panting as I made my way up the elevator. I had memorized and practiced all I was going to say to her since last night.

I’m going to get her back, regardless of whether the baby was mine or not; she would be mine, and I mean it this time.

By the time I searched the hospital three times without finding her, I had to go to the CNO, and I was informed that Raven had submitted a letter to terminate her internship and that she was officially no longer an intern here.

She…she terminated her internship? Jesus Christ.

My heart was pounding violently in my chest. I didn’t wait at the hospital; I had to find and talk to her one-on-one. I went over to her apartment, but it was empty, and it only left me frustrated.

It was empty; all her things were gone.

I got back into my car and made a phone call to Ted. He picked up after the second ring. “Where the fuck is she? “I yelled, my blood boiling.

“Her flight departs in an hour, sir? I just found out,” he answered.

My throat ran dry. “Flight? What flight?”

The voice spoke at the other end. “She’s leaving the state, sir. I found out she bought two tickets scheduled for different dates. The second, I haven’t been able to look into it yet.”

My fingers tightened around the wheel. “Where the fuck is she going?”

" I…I haven’t been able to find out, sir, but she’s currently at Thronehorse Airport.”

I punched the steering wheel. “The fuck you don’t know where she’s going. You … are fucking fired! “I yelled into the phone.

" I’m sorry, sir, I’ll send you all the info I have right now!”

I groaned, tossing the phone at the back of the car and stepping on the gas. I got to the airport and stormed into it. I ran.... I ran so fast I couldn’t breathe a single breath and kept stumbling into people on the way.

At this rate, I don’t really care if I pushed anyone to the ground. I just want to get to her before she gets on that plane.

I paused in the middle of the airport just as I heard the mic echo in the building. “Flight 23 will depart in 2minutes. All passengers are onboard and clear the tarmac.”

Fuck!

I took to my heels again, but I was blocked by the security who were asking why I didn’t join the boarding line and where my pass was.

“Get out of my way!” I yelled, desperate to pass through.

“I’m sorry sir. This is the boarding area, and you have to pass through the reception to submit your ticket before coming here.” One of them explained.

I wasn’t even listening; I had my eyes ahead, searching for any sign of her.

" Please step back, or we will call reinforcements.”

“Please,’’ I begged. ‘’…my wife is about to board that plane and I can’t…”

He cut me off. He cut me off. “I’m sorry, sir, but we follow protocol here.”

My shoulders slumped, giving up. “Right.” I turned around, walking back to the waiting area while keeping watch over them through my side eyes. The moment they let their guard down, I sprinted past them, slipping past their grip.

Cocky bastards. Did they really think I’d give up that easily?

I ran as fast as I could to the tarmac, just as I heard the whirring plane in the distance.

Fuck!

No.

No.

No.

No.

I got onto the runway, but it was too late; the plane had started moving, and in a few seconds, it would take off.

She’s…. she’s gone!

I searched my pocket for my phone, my hands trembling.

“Where the fuck is the plan headed! Where the fuck is it headed, Ted!” I yelled over the phone as I rushed back to my car.

I’m going after her.

I’ll follow her to the ends of the earth. I’ll follow her to hell if that’s what it takes to bring her back home.

“She’s headed for Phoenix, sir.” He replied.

" Phoenix?” I repeated. Why is she going back there?

" Yes, boss.”

I sighed, turning on the ignition. “Keep a track of her.”

I ended the call and left the airport. As I drove back to my hospital, I started feeling uneasy. This tightness engulfed my chest, making it hard for me to breathe.

I wanted to have a nice talk with Scarlett, but I changed my mind and headed home. I don’t like the uneasiness I felt in my chest.

As I drove, I noticed a Camry 220 following behind me. It had been trailing behind me for a while now. It gave me the icks. This is the second time I have been followed, and of course, it has to be one of Nero’s minions.

I didn’t bother shaking him off. If he’s going to follow me all the way to my house, then I’ll gladly invite him in.

Just as I thought, he parked some blocks away from my house as I got in. I shut my door, double locking it.

Let’s see how that fucker would get in.

I started undoing the buttons in my shirt when my eyes fell on the broken vase on the floor. My senses immediately became alert as I scrutinized the living room.

The painting on the wall was torn, and the couch was moved out of place. My books were scattered, and some of them torn. I moved around the house, suddenly getting this Erie feeling that I wasn’t the only one in the building.

The bedroom was even worse; everything was scattered, and the bathroom tap was left running. I remained silent, as I strained my ears to pick up sounds.

Just then, a glass shattered in the distance.

I whipped my head in the direction of the sound just as smoke filled my nostrils. Like something was burning.

What the….

I came out of the bedroom to see the smoke coming out of the kitchen.

Someone is certainly here!

I gritted my teeth as I headed to the kitchen, covering my nose with my arm to prevent myself from inhaling excess smoke.

And just as I thought…. someone was in the house.

My eyes widened as I looked around the kitchen. It was burning slowly, with the devil standing in the middle of it.

But why fire? He could have just attacked me. Why use fire?

He slowly turned around to face me, a cigarette lighter dangling in his hand. “ What’s wrong, little brother? Still haven’t gotten over your fear of fire?” He chuckled.

Tch.

My blood boiled. I think this is where one of us dies.
