I smirk. "Well aren't you Mr. Popular." Dylan rolls his eyes, but grins. "Shut up." The guys join us at the table. Anthony sits to my right and Reece sits to my left. "Good to see you again," Carlos says to me, smiling. "Yeah, you guys too." They all seemed intimidating when I first met them at Dylan's party. They don't seem as intimidating sitting here at the table. "Have you ever been here?" Reece asks me. I shake my head. "I thought she'd be a fan of the place," Dylan says. I'm not sure what to think. There are only a couple more people in the building besides me, Dylan, and the guys. Oldies are playing in the background, making it somewhat peaceful. "Are you guys staying for the performance?" Anthony asks, mostly to Dylan. Performance? I look at Dylan and wait for him to answer. "Not sure yet," he says. His attention is on his phone. "Did you see Max?" Reece asks him and Dylan nods. "Did you see Derrick?" Dylan shakes his head and puts his phone away. "No. Is he in the back?" This time Reece nods. Dylan stands up and starts walking away. I don't know what to think but then he stops and points at me. "Don't let these guys be a bad influence on you." Carlos is amused. "No promises." Dylan goes through the door where the guys came from and the guys turn their attention to me. "You guys have a class together?" Carlos asks me. I nod. "Hmm," he taps his chin while glancing at the other guys. "Dylan doesn't just bring any girl around, you know," Anthony pipes in. Why does everyone assume that something must be going on between me and Dylan? Can't we just be friends? "Listen, Dylan and I became friends in class. That's all." If I have to make it clear to one more person, I'm going to explode. "Besides, I'm not exactly looking to be in a relationship right now." "Guys suck. Don't date us," Reece smirks. "Trust me, I know guys suck." I haven't had the best of luck with guys so far. "Girls are the ones who suck," Carlos objects. "My first girlfriend in middle school dumped me in front of her friends and they all laughed at me." "You were the dump-ee?" Anthony laughs at him. Reece cracks up laughing also. "I remember that!" "Then my next girlfriend cheated on me, so yeah, I think I can say girls suck," Carlos crosses his arms. "My boyfriend cheated on me at the end of last year and now he's taking a class with me to reconcile," I blurt out. If we're going to talk about sucky relationships, I have to throw mine in there. "Reconcile? Fuck that. Why didn't you try to get out of that class?" Carlos makes a face as he asks. "It's my favorite class." I can't let Jacob be in my favorite class while I take another one that doesn't even interest me. Anthony shakes his head. "I wouldn't take a class with my ex. Hell no." "Oh hell," Reece's shoulder's droop. "If Lacey can get cheated on, there's no fucking hope." I take it as a compliment. Talking to them turned out to be easy. They aren't the scary guys people make them out to be at school. They're relatively normal. "That's why I don't believe in that love bullshit. I'm going to stay a bachelor forever," Carlos shrugs. He's definitely the more carefree one of the group. Anthony and Reece break out into the song Love Stinks while Carlos and I laugh at them. I'm having a better time than I thought I was going to have. My stomach is hurting from all my laughing. "What the fuck is going on here?" Dylan asks as he stands next to me. "We're talking about how relationships suck," Anthony tells him. "Right," Dylan shakes his head and rubs his temple. Anthony points to me. "We're all going to sing. You know the song, right Lacey?" I'm going to respond, but Dylan interjects. "Actually, I want you to meet someone," he says to me. "Okay," I nod. He holds his hand out to me and I take it as I stand up from my seat. As we're walking away, Anthony and Reece continue to sing the song. Dylan is still holding my hand as we walk through a doorway and I attempt to push the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. We walk down a long corridor until we reach an old wooden door. "You're not going to kill me, are you?" I tease him. He smirks and says, "Not yet." He knocks on the door and behind the door someone says, "Come in." Once we're in, Dylan shuts the door behind us. There are two guys in the small room. One is stretched out on the couch while strumming a guitar and the other is looking at some papers at a table in the corner. They both look up and smile when they see Dylan. The one strumming the guitar has brown hair that hands in his face and he has big, brown eyes. The guy at the table has blond hair, similar to Reece's. In fact, they look a lot alike. Blue eyes and all and both are extremely attractive. "Well shit, Dylan, if you told us we were going to meet a model we would have gotten decent," the blond guy says as he smiles at me. "This is Lacey," Dylan tells them. Blondie continues to smile, "Nice shirt," he winks at me. "Thanks." My cheeks feel warm and I casually place my hand on my cheek to cool down. "That idiot," Dylan points to blondie, "is Reece's older brother Jared." And that explains why they look almost like twins. "And this," he wraps an arm around the other guy, "is my brother Derrick."
