Chapter 47

Davina had managed to cram so much into their afternoon, Barry’s mind was still whirling. They’d had photo ops with a guardsman from the Household Cavalry and a uniformed policeman. Then at The Tower of London they were photographed with a Beefeater, or Yeoman Warder as Davina informed them was their correct title. The rest of the visit to the

Tower was fun, or at least Jimmy and Jake thought so. Personally it had given Barry the creeps, especially the exhibition of torture equipment in the base of the Wakefield Tower. He’d heard of the rack, but not the Scavenger’s Daughter which compressed rather than stretched its victims. Then there were the manacles, chains, bars, and…Barry was relieved when Davina said that if they wanted to see more of the capital they needed to move on. And move they did. They rode on the top of a double-decker bus as well as took a motorboat tour on the Thames. Once dusk fell, Davina said they’d get the best views of the city at night from the top of the London Eye. Thankfully, the gondolas of the huge Ferris wheel were glassed in. It was bitterly cold and had started to rain.

They’d ended the day by taking Davina out to dinner, making sure she understood she wouldn’t be paying.

Jimmy and Jake asked Davina, even though she was a vegetarian, if she knew of anywhere they could get a decent steak. Davina said an ex-boyfriend was something of a carnivore, so they got in another cab and headed “up west.”

The meal was expensive, but Barry thought it well worth it to see his two lovers happy.

Interestingly, as the day had progressed, Jimmy had become less clingy. Part of Barry missed the closeness, but he’d been relieved his blue cowboy was regaining the classic fun-loving personality that Barry loved so much.

“Can’t sleep?” Jake asked, rubbing Barry’s arm.

Barry sighed. “Sorry, did I wake you?”

Jake kissed him. “It’s okay. Just sensed you were mulling something over so woke up to ask what.”

“Nothing important,” Barry said, returning Jake’s kiss. It was scary how in tune they sometimes were to one another’s emotions.

“Must be if it kept you awake.”

Barry shrugged. “You know me. Worry over everything.”

Jake’s lips ghosted across Barry’s cheek. Barry could tell his red cowboy was smiling.

“Jimmy had a good day,” Barry said through a yawn.

“Uh huh. He really was scared you’d leave us.” After a brief pause, Jake added, “Me, too.”

Barry put his left arm over Jake’s waist and pulled the man closer. “Never.”

“I know. Sorry.”

Barry nuzzled Jake’s neck, drawing in the man’s earthy scent. He could never give Jake up, nor Jimmy. They were…everything to him.

“Love when you sniff me,” Jake admitted.

“Love sniffing you.”

Barry had previously told his men that even blindfolded, he could identify them by scent alone. They hadn’t believed him and Barry had to prove it. Which he did easily.

Barry was almost asleep when Jake asked, “Looking forward to going home?”

Barry remembered the scene in the restaurant that morning. “More than I thought I would.”

“Me, too,” Jake admitted.

Barry had previously admitted that home was wherever his cowboys were, but he knew he had to revise that. Sure, Jimmy and Jake’s presence was a huge part of it, but, now he’d spent time away from the Double J and its other inhabitants, Barry knew they, too, played a part in what made him feel at home.

“What’s the first thing you’ll do when you get back?” Jake asked.

“Check to see what kind of disaster my kitchen is in.”

Jake chuckled.

“What’s the first thing you’ll do?”

Jake shrugged. “Probably see what kind of shape the ranch is in. Though I know Liam would have said if something bad had happened.”

Jake stretched and Barry could feel something hard poking his leg. Reaching down to take Jake’s dick in hand, he asked, “I’m surprised to hear from Jake Junior again tonight.”

“What do you expect when a hot chef and games developer rubs against me?” Jake took hold of Barry’s erection. “And you’ve got no room to talk.”

“What do you expect when a handsome cowboy rubs against me?”

Jake got out of bed, drew the covers back and lifted Barry into his arms.

“What are you doing?” Barry asked, louder than he intended. Thankfully Jimmy didn’t wake.

“You’ll see. Now cover Jimmy up again.”

Barry did and Jake carried him towards the bathroom. They’d left the light on and the door ajar, so Jake was able to see where he was going without bumping into anything. Barry was set down on the vanity. Jake closed the bathroom door and stood against it, a determined look on his face.
