Chapter 119

Evelyn's Pov

It's been a week plus and I was going crazy, I ran mad each second, minutes, hours and days that passes by.

I was confused than a lost blind bat, I was drowning in a pain that had no bruise and angry at the existence of nature.

To top my frustration, everything seemed okay. The Pack flourished than ever and contracts flowed like milk and honey. Despite the scandal at the Presidential villa and the disappearance of Felix, it was as if a redemption took place in Midnight Shade and it's luxurious life everyone needed was fulfilled.

I was the one dwindling, Raven avoided me like a plague and left me with Melody who came for a visit and since she saw my state, she didn't want to leave me alone.

He wouldn't talk to me about Lex, he changed topic so fast and left me hanging when I mentioned about my husband who told me he left for a trip at the city and to fix some things at Lex's Enterprise. His calls went straight to voicemail and I shivered in every wild imagination that was supposed to be a curse.

What the hell was happening?

I stood up with purposeful steps and went to our room, Goddess! I need Lex than ever.

His scent was everywhere and my wolf has been silent, she knew better than talking or I was going to lash our heavily on her as the cause to my problem.

No one would answer me, I'm not allowed to roam about because of my condition. My bump wasn't so huge so I don't understand the overpampering from my brother.

I need to get out and I'm doing that right away, in silence.

I was going to book a flight but I need to get the hell out of the Pack quietly without being suspected about anything and Melody was the best person right now.

I grabbed my husband's jacket and threw it over the red body hugging gown I wore, my hair was instantly wrapped around in a bun and I applied a lipstick to my lips.

I left the room in a mess just because I needed Lex's access card to the company, he had a spare one and after searching for hours, I finally saw it.

"I need to get something by the store Mel," I threw the car keys at her and she grabbed it, patting Ian's head who huffed at me in annoyance for disrupting their silly game.

"Lots of ice cream, green vegetables, purifying oil, so many snacks and chocolates because I don't want to ask Raven for it all the time and other items as well." I told her and she giggled, nodding and wearing her boots.

"Copy that Luna, I think I saw a best place on my way coming here, common let's go."

We left the Pack peacefully, driving past so many groceries stores and malls until she got to her choice

"No Melody, don't stop. Take me to the borders." I pleaded, my voice suddenly quaking and shaking and she frowned

"Why? I can't do that Lilia!"

"Because I need to meet my husband and I am tired of sitting down like a little puppy begging and asking for him everyday!' I tell her with a growl, my hands were fisted tightly to express how frustrated I am at the moment but Melody was always scared as usual.

"You should tell your brother, Raven will take you to the world if you want!"

I shook my head in tears at her words and pleaded hard, "you know he won't let me, each time I asked about Lex, he keeps tossing me off and I know that something is wrong!"

"Then he's just trying to protect you, use the preview of someone that makes you happy. Maybe he's actually following orders from Alexander himself!"

"No one protects me from my mate! That's totally absurd and you're not going to tell Raven shit because if he had wanted me to see Alexander, he would have done it for a very long time. It's all me so just take me to the borders and I will book a flight and see my husband before I go crazy!"

I have half yelled and pleaded in tears, everybody is happy and things are moving smoothly but I was drowning each day.

The full moon is in 2 days time and I need my husband to be with me, I need to be with him because I know what it means for that demonic powers to be activated again.

I can't bear to see him in such pain, he said he might not survive it if it went to extreme except he stays with his mate, but how on earth would that be possible when I don't know what the heck is going on.

"You did this to me before Lilia, I tried to help you out my mess, pretending to be you and I was fucked up. I know this is a different case but even if I were to listen to you, I won't this time because you are pregnant!"

"Then get out of the car, I know my way from here, you can pick a cab or something!" She stared at me as if I was crazy and hit her head and see if there was no going back.

I was adamant and stubborn because nothing is going to stop me from crossing that border today.

"Raven is going to find out sooner or later, I hope you know that I'm not going to leave you and go anywhere. We'll go together."

I nodded at her words and smirked with pride, she knew my brother is a genius and I can't run away from him, not even all the years he thought I was unavailable, missing and dead.

"I only have one single passport, I don't know about you and how you'll follow me." I told her but she smiled and reached for her purse to take her passport

"I have it with me anywhere I go because dad wants me to fly back to Russia!"

"Good girl, let's go and see things for myself before I go crazy!" I told her and she nodded.

I felt a sudden jolts of relieve an anticipation with a pumping heart, I didn't care at that moment if Lex was avoiding me or was just so busy at the moment that my presence might cause and distraction which I totally understand, but I'm so mad at him because I never made an agreement to him staying out for more than 7 days without even trying to take a glimpse at me.

All of those anticipation and thoughts crumbled like a clay dust before me when I saw my brother's car reversing in the middle of the road and causing Melody to press the brake of the car in an abrupt halt.

"Don't stop Melody, just reverse and keep driving!" I told her foolishly because it was the most stupid thing to do with Raven.

Melody scoffed and quietly turned off the engine giving me a 'I already told you look.'

My brother was furious but handsome as ever with a cold demeanor, making me recall my Lex. Raven made me so angry in many ways because everything he does, the things he says and the attitude he portrays were just giving out the likeness of Lex, who had suddenly disappeared.

And this few days has been hectic because all he did was avoid me and make sure I was okay through orders.

"Tell tell me that you are drunk Lilia and I will let this slide because what's in the actual fuck are you doing right now? You are not allowed to leave the mansion!" He yelled at me and flickered his gaze at Melody who avoided it instantly.

"Point of correction Raven, I am not a tree or a log of wood who should stay in one freaking place. You won't say shit about Lex and you won't also let me go out to see him so I'm not going anywhere right now once you tell me what the heck is happening!" I yelled and screamed in pain, faking an effect by clutching my stomach hard and it was more than enough to bring back the Raven I knew.

He panicked instantly and his cold countenance became soft.

"Please Lilia, let's go home and get you treated, I'll tell you everything."

"Is Lex alright? Don't tell me to go home shit if you're hiding about him, is he dead? Are you hiding it from me?" I broke down in tears because I couldn't control whatever dreadful truth that's waiting to bust out enough to shatter my whole damn life.

Why is Raven feeling so guilty and looking at me with that face?

What the hell is going on that he didn't want me to know about it?

"He's fine!" He blurted and I shook my head.

"Swear to me Raven, thay it's nothing but the truth."

"I swear Lilia, I promise he's fine but you need to come home. I'm sorry for being a coward because I don't know how to say this to you. I'm so sorry just tell me and promise me that you're going to be fine."

My lips trembled at his words and the tears I never wanted to flow came out of its own accord. I was scared as hell but as long as Lex is fine, I'll take whatever hits that's about to throw me off guard.

The ride home was thick with sadness, anticipation and fear occupied with an abrupt silence that made everything worse.

By the time we got to the Pack, Alveria was waiting and my blood boiled in a triple rush like a hot liquid fire running through my veins.

"What is this bitch doing here?" I growled as I stared directly at her eyes, she stood by the entrance and waited for us.

"Relax Lilia, she still remains the Priestess until she's dethroned from her authority." Raven gave me a meaningless explanation but I just huffed and walked towards Alveria

"What do you want to say today? That I have a cursed wolf? I need to undergo a test that would kill me or your daughter is up to something and you just want to just surrender yourself and get the hell out of our lives?" I spat at her hotly and she smiled, caressing the white envelope on her hand.

"Pregnancy has really made you extremely Feisty Lilia. You should try to be calm a bit because I have a wonderful surprise for cursed people like you. It's just who you are and can't change it."

My teeth gritted and clashed hotly against each other, the only thing in my mind right now is to grab her stupid long silver hair, smash it to the wall beside her.

"At least royalty looks good on one of us, something your miserable daughter will never have and your position in the Pack. You are meant to serve my mate and I!"

I hit the jackpot and she raised her hands to slap me only for Raven to appear at a speed of flash which made me chuckle.

"Did you see that magic Alveria? Yes, this particular one you try to kill with Jethro? Isn't it beautiful that no one in the entire pack of Midnight Shade can actually fulfill that?"

"Shut the fuck up and read this, then let's see who is cursed, who is going to be broken and who is going to serve who?!" Her words dripped with venom from that tone and before I could get the envelope from her, Raven grabbed it instantly, preventing me from taking it.

"That's enough Alveria, you can go and choose to ignore a frustrated woman's rants at the moment because the next time you try to lay your hands on the Luna of Midnight shade Pack, you get to face a disgrace 10 times worse than what you've ever faced in your life!"

"Then why are you being a coward by not letting her read it now! You know everything but you choose to hide it from her, deceiving her like a cunny tortoise.

Let her know that there is no going back with her cursed self because it's following everyone around her!" My brother swallowed so hard, the colors of his eyes changed and I knew that Alveria's words hit him so greatly.

He held the envelope so tight that his veins popped out from his skin threatening to burst, and curiosity washed me like a dry scorching test that needed to be quenched.

"Give me the envelope Raven!" I told my brother who shook his head and ordered Alveria out.

"No, it's an order!"

"Fuck Lilia , you won't do this! I'm also the Beta of the Pack and I make decisions that will protect you, please Lily!"

"The only thing you've done to me is hide things from me no matter how hard it may hit me, so I order you as the Luna Of Midnight Shade Pack to hand that over to me because I want to believe that it concerns my husband who hasn't been home for days!"

His body slacked in defeat and he gave it to me as if he was handing over hell to shatter everything. I quickly tore the sealed envelope and brought out a little note that made me froze entirely to the ground, keeping me in a state of shock that might haunt me forever.
