Chapter Eleven

Antonia.

Something didn't feel right.

I was passing back and forth in my bedroom and tapping my palms together anxiously—a habit of mine whenever I had a lot to think about.

In the last few days, I haven't stopped feeling anxious over the fact that I've been getting flowers from the same person, 'G', who still hadn't revealed himself.

I initially thought that Gabriel was trying to play tricks on me by pretending like he wasn't the one sending me the flowers, but when I asked him again to confirm whether or not he had anything to do with them, he made sure to let me know that he had never sent me any flowers.

He even went as far as teasing me, asking if I wanted flowers so badly and saying that if I did, I should simply ask for them instead of accusing him of sending flowers to me when he didn't.

Of course, his response had pissed me off, but because I had bigger fish to fry, I ignored his rude comment. What I was now concerned about was who the person sending me flowers was, why they kept leaving notes that mentioned how he couldn't wait to meet me, and how we would be meeting soon.

The first thought that had come to my mind after receiving the flowers for the second time, with a strange note, was that I could possibly have a stalker, and this was his way of letting me know that he was hovering around me.

The one thing I feared the most, besides my mother and losing my career, was having stalkers. I already experienced to an extent what it meant to have one, and the fear I felt then wasn't something I wanted to go through ever again.

I contemplated talking to Gabriel and asking for his help, but after his comment earlier, I decided against it. It was more than obvious that he couldn't care less about me and would only ever call me when he needed us to meet up and keep up with the charade.

I continued to tap my palms together anxiously, wondering how to go about the situation. Should I call the police? Was I overreacting? Would it be too much of me to think too deeply about this? What if it was a fan and not a stalker?

All these thoughts ran through my mind, but no matter how hard I tried to dismiss the matter, I couldn't help the sense of fear that I felt at the thought of possibly having a stalker.

While I was pacing back and forth in my room, I heard the doorbell go off, and immediately my heart dropped.

Could it be another flower delivery? If it was, that would be the fifth one in the past week, and I honestly didn't think I had the mental capacity to deal with reading another one of this stranger's rather cryptic letters.

Letting out a sigh, I walked over to the door and looked through the peephole to see who was outside the door. To my biggest relief, I saw Kyle's face, and I have honestly never been more relieved to see my assistant.

I opened the door immediately, happy that he was finally here, but my smile dropped as soon as I noticed that he had a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

"What the hell is that?" I questioned him hurriedly, staring down at the flowers like they were the most horrifying things I had ever seen.

"What exactly do they look like, Tonia?" he responded with an eye roll before attempting to walk past me, but I stopped him.

"I know what they are, Kyle, but why are you bringing them here? Where did you get them?" I asked, unable to hide the fear in my voice.

Kyle stared back at me like I had lost my mind, and I honestly understood why he was staring at me like that because I was well aware of how crazy I sounded.

"Okay, Miss Antonia Flynn, what's going on with you? Why in the world are you freaking out over a bunch of flowers?" he asked.

"Just tell me where you got them, Kyle. Are they yours? Did you get them for me yourself?" I responded, wanting him to answer my questions before saying anything.

"Uhm... I love you, Tonia; you know I do, but I don't earn enough to randomly buy you flowers when it's not your birthday or some important event. I found this in front of your apartment, and I assumed you didn't know they were here, so I picked it up from you," he explained, and just when I hoped my fear wouldn't get worse, it did.

"I checked for a letter, and I found one, but I honestly don't understand what this letter is supposed to mean. It does say it's from 'G, so I assumed that it's from that new man of yours," he added, adding salt to my wounds.

I immediately shut my eyes in frustration before pulling him into the house and shutting down. Without saying anything, I dragged him to the empty space beside my kitchen area, and as soon as Kyle saw the bunch of flowers that I had thrown on the floor, he let out a loud gasp.

"Tonia, honey, what have you done to this man? What spell did you cast on him to get him so obsessed with you?" he questioned me with a cheeky grin, and I rolled my eyes.

"I didn't cast any spells; Kyle and Gabriel didn't send any of these flowers. I've been getting flowers for about a week now, and apparently, it's from someone who refers to themselves as 'G', but I have no clue who it could be," I explained.

Kyle gasped again. "Are you sure, sweetie? Are you absolutely sure your man didn't send any of these?" he asked.

I nodded. "Yes, I am, Kyle. I called him several times to ask him about it, and he has said every single time that he has nothing to do with the flowers. I don't know who this person is or why they keep sending me flowers, but it's starting to scare me, Kyle. What if I have someone stalking me? I'm trying not to be paranoid, but even the letters really aren't helping."

Kyle's expression immediately turned to worry, and immediately he brought out the letter for the bouquet and threw it to the floor before opening it and reading it again.

"Now that you've mentioned stalking, I think this letter makes a lot more sense now, Tonia," he said, and I immediately grabbed the letter from him to read the content.

'We've never met, but we will soon. These days, I see you everywhere, and I can't wait for us to be together again. I hope you haven't forgotten me, but if you have, here are more flowers to remind you of who I am.

With all my love, G'

My hands shook in fear as soon as I read the letter. I read it over and over again, trying to see if anyone would come to mind at all, but nothing did. I couldn't think of anything with the initials, G, who would adamantly send me flowers and foresee us meeting soon.

"What am I going to do, Kyle? What if someone is really stalking me?" I asked in frustration.

Kyle paused for a while, seemingly deep in his thoughts, before responding. "Could it be him, Tonia?" he asked suddenly.

I stared at him in confusion. "Him, who?"

"August, Tonia. The bastard who tried to rape you a few years ago," he reminded me, and my heart dropped.

I remembered him.

"But August is in jail. He can't be responsible for this." I stuttered a response, hoping it wasn't true.

"It's been three years, Tonia, and there's a chance that he could be out of jail now. I wouldn't rule him out," Kyle replied, and the mere thought of dealing with August's obsession with me all over her made my skin crawl with fear and disgust.
