Chapter 48 Chapter 48
SEBASTIAN
Ruby wrapped her legs around me, and we were rocking together, despite too many clothes separating us. I could feel the heat radiating between her thighs, burning through every layer of fabric.
My mouth trailed from her lips to her neck, and my nose brushed over the necklace resting there. I pressed closer, nuzzling gently as if I could claim her this way. My heart raced as the urge to sink my teeth into her soft skin filled me.
But I resisted. She wasn’t my mate. I couldn’t mark her.
Whatever this was between us; it was a business arrangement. I couldn’t cross that line or give her false hope. I had already hurt Annalisa before. I wouldn’t make that mistake again.
I needed to pull away. I should pull away.
But she wanted this. And so did I...
"Are you... an Alpha's daughter?" I murmured, pulling away from her neck and gently holding her ear between my teeth.
"No..." Her voice was between whisper and moan.
"Then how did you—" I caught myself, exhaling a breath. Don’t push her too hard.
I remembered too clearly how she had shoved me against the wall the other day with strength she shouldn’t have had as an ordinary omega.
'If she were truly an omega, her wolf couldn’t have been that strong enough to kill the first time she took over her human body' my wolf whispered. I agreed with him.
"How did I what?" Ruby's voice interrupted my thoughts.
Before I could respond, my phone suddenly rang. Cursing under my breath, I forced myself to pulled away a little, fishing the phone out of my pocket. Coach Brody’s name flashed on the screen.
Why is he calling?
I answered, looking up at Ruby’s flushed face.
“Hi, Seb. I noticed you’re not active in the group chat,” he said through the speaker, while my other hand trailed down Ruby's bare thigh, then back up again.
'Goddess, I loved the scent of her arousal.' My wolf purred.
“I’m busy. I’ll check it when I’m done,” I replied, watching Ruby shudder and whimper as my fingers brushed over her damp panties. Her gaze immediately shifted away from mine.
“No need. That’s why I called,” he continued. “I got an email this evening from the MoonRise Hockey Community about the world record event, so I won’t be coming to practice tomorrow because of a meeting. You should take care of the team.”
“Alright.”
The moment I hung up, Ruby suddenly spoke, her voice trembling.
“I—I need some water.”
I nodded slowly, watching her climbing off the bed, too quickly, like she couldn’t get away fast enough. My eyes fell on her swaying buttock and my cock groaned while she left the room, closing the door softly behind her.
It took everything in me not to go after her and thrust her sweet pussy. I exhaled sharply, running a hand through my hair.
My wolf paced restlessly in my head, growling in frustration. We had never stayed days without sex. I had been holding back, resisting the urges, even though my wolf hated it. And now, smelling Ruby's arousal again, it was driving us insane.
A few minutes after I had calmed my wolf, I went downstairs. The house was quiet, except for the faint clinking of glass coming from the kitchen.
"Here you go, Luna."
It was Noelle, handing Ruby a glass of water.
Ruby offered a quiet, "Thank you," with a small smile.
"Is there anything else I can do for you?" Noelle asked gently.
Ruby shook her head.
"Okay. Goodnight, Luna," Noelle murmured softly before catching sight of me standing in the doorway.
I didn't miss shock in Ruby's eyes when she saw me.
"Alpha," Noelle acknowledged with a small bow before leaving Ruby and me alone in the quiet kitchen.
Ruby diverted her eyes from me as she sipped her water.
I stepped further inside, smirking when she shifted nervously as I walked past her.
My wolf purred as her scent filled my nose.
Grabbing a glass, I opened the fridge, took out a bottle of water, and poured myself a drink.
The silence stretched between us as I downed the water in a few gulps before setting the empty glass on the base cabinet.
"You shouldn't have brought her here," Ruby said, breaking the silence as she dropped her glass on the base cabinet beside her.
I raised a brow. "You mean Noelle?"
She nodded. "I'm scared she might know about us."
A faint smile crossed my lips, but my heart clenched at the sight of her swollen eyes and lips still red from our kiss.
"I already spoke to her when you left me at the dining table earlier. She won’t tell anyone about what she sees or hears. You don't have to be scared anymore, Ruby. I'm here to protect you."
I stepped closer to her, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face, but she moved away.
“She smelled you on me,” Ruby muttered, her voice trembling. “And now she thinks these are yours.”
She gestured her head toward the spot she just moved from.
I froze when I saw the red lace panties spread on the base cabinet.
The words Hot Princess were boldly stitched across the front.
I knew exactly who they belonged to.
My throat tightened as memories of that night I made out with Annalisa in this very kitchen resurfaced. But the entire house had been cleaned. How was this still here? Where did Noelle even find it?
My eyes scanned the room, searching for answers.
“You want to know where Noelle got them from?” Ruby's voice cut into my thoughts, drawing my attention back to her.
I could see a flicker of hurt passing through her eyes.
I cleared my throat, forcing calm into my voice. “Ruby, trust me—”
“Trust you? On this?”
She scoffed, shaking her head. “Come on, Seb. I’m supposed to believe you didn’t rip those off the legs of one of your girls? You’re a playboy. Every girl in school practically throws themselves at you.”
I smirked despite myself. “Except you.”
Her lips parted slightly, caught off guard.
“Exactly. So why should I trust you now?”
“Because I don’t lie to you, Ruby.”
I took a step closer, but she moved back again.
“I've told you this house…” I exhaled. “I used it like my personal club before my father banned me from coming here after he found out how I was... hosting parties every night and fucking girls...”
My voice trailed off as I saw the disgust tightening her features.
“And this was from one of your club nights?”
I sighed, running a hand through my hair but didn’t nod either.
Her lips parted in disbelief. “You turned the kitchen where people cook food to something else”
I shrugged nonchalantly. “Technically, no one cooked here back then—”
“Unbelievable. What happened to your room?” she murmured as she stared at the red fabric still mocking me from the base cabinet.
“I used this kitchen and one of the guest rooms downstairs because they were closer to the living room where the party happened. I never brought a girl into my main room. Not even Annalisa—”
“Annalisa?!” she cut in, her eyebrows rising in shock.
Shit. Why did I say that?
I sighed, biting my lower lip.
“Annalisa and I weren’t really a thing. We were just...”
“You didn’t love her, did you?” she interrupted, but the hint of pain in her voice surprised me.
I shook my head. “No. I cared about her, sure. But love? I never felt it. Not the way she wanted me to.”
Her expression softened, lips parting as if she wanted to say something but stopped herself.
The silence between us lasted only a few seconds before Ruby finally spoke, her voice
barely above a whisper.
“I… I need to go back to my room. Goodnight, Seb.”
She turned quickly and left the kitchen without looking back.
I sighed, running my hand through my hair.
I wasn’t sure if I loved Ruby but I knew I wanted her.
